View 5 Replies View RelatedI tried flashing my Galaxy S, but when i turned it on, it stayed on the boot menu for 10 minutes and nothing happened, so i had to remove the battery. I tired putting it in download mode and it didnt work eiter. When i plugged in the usb, it showed the charging icon with the loading sign, however the loading sign did not go away, again I had to remove the battery. What is wrong with my Galaxy S, and what can I do to fix it?

View 10 Replies View RelatedVery simple question but I can't work it out.
On the Galaxy S when I first went to 'applications' it would list all of the applications in a grid form, however for some reason it now has them in a list form.
How do I change it back?
How do you move an icon in application menu from one screen to another? I know I can rearrange icons by clicking menu button then edit, but I can't move an icon from one screen to another. The same goes in application menu and in home menu.

I have noticed that although holding down the menu button will go to google search from the main screen, it no longer works in certain apps that used to work before the upgrade. In fact it doesnt seem to work in any apps.

View 13 Replies View RelatedI have to change my phone soon and want an android phone, after a bit of research it seems that the best ones are the samsung galaxy s and the HTC Desire. But there are contradicting reviews, some say one is better, others say the other is better.
Ive also heard about some glitches in the galaxy s about lag, 3g and gps, any idea if those are real and if so can they be fixed?
What do the real hardcore android uses choose? I'm getting a new phone and I can't decide between these two beasts!
View 14 Replies View RelatedVery much in dilemma over going for one among these two. Samsung galaxy s vs HTC desire. though spec says the galaxy guy is very much powerful compared to htc desire, but at the same found few issues related to GPS on galaxy s. not sure about the support from samsung.
View 2 Replies View Relatedhi friends i am a 16 yr old boy hunting for a new phone(a smartphone at that).i have shortlisted the samsung galaxy s and the htc desire.please help me out.
P.S.-this phone must serve me good for at least 4 years as in my country there's no subsidy offered by service providers on smartphones with locking, plans etc.so i must get my money's worth.
I am due for an upgrade but I am not sure if I should get the HTC Desire or wait for the Samsung Galaxy S? So basically here are the pro's and con's: Galaxy pro's: 4 inch Super AMOLED screen is superior to the Desires Camera is superior, can record HD video More attractive (IMO), even though its close 1500mah battery (longer battery life than Desire's 1400mah) No flash player (how good is the Desires flash player anyway?)

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm running a Galaxy Nexus, and the ROM I'm currently on has a performance option in the Settings Menu, which gives control of the kernel and stuff. However, I'd rather use TricksterMod, and I would like to be able to launch TricksterMod from Settings instead of the Performance app.
So far, I've decompiled my Settings.apk, and looked through the files, and I'm not sure what to change.
I have to change settings esxmlsettings_headers.xml, correct? Specifically,
Code:
header android:icon="@drawable/ic_settings_performance" android:id="@id/performance_settings" android:title="@string/performance_settings_title" android:fragment="com.android.settings.performance.PerformanceSettings" />
I would also have to change settings esvaluesstrings.xml, specifically, the string referenced by "@string/performance_settings_title" so that I can have the correct name, correct?
And similarly, settings esdrawable, for the icon.
The big question is, what do I replace with for "com.android.settings.performance.PerformanceSetti ngs"? Do I need to move TricksterMod somewhere specific, or what would I reference? dataappcom.bigeyes0x0.trickstermod-1.apk?
After making all these changes, I'd simply recompile and push the Settings.apk back without signing, correct? Have I missed any steps?
When connecting my Galaxy-S to the Samsung Kies software, my telephone shows up with an incorrect telephone number. I did change the sim-card (and subsequent number) since first using it, but I never logged intio Kies with the old sim-card.The phone is rooted. How do I get Kies (or my Samsung phone) to show my current telephone number? In the phone properties (Menu, Settings, About, Status) the same wrong number is shown. When calling, the receiver sees the correct telephone number. So the issue is not operator related but telephone related.

View 19 Replies View RelatedI have configured my Samsung Galaxy S using my normal Gmail account. This has helped me to sync the Google Contacts with my phone.
Following are my questions:
1. Right now I have about a thousand google contacts synced to my phone. I want to remove them at one go. I know how to disable them from being appearing in contact list, but I want to know if I can delete them without going to factory settings.
2. I am using three applications (a) Gmail (b) Contacts (3) MVOIP. I want to know if there is a way that following combination works:
a- Google contacts appear on Gmail app
b- Google contacts (with phone numbers) and normal phone contacts appear on "Contacts"
c- Google contacts (with phone numbers) and normal phone contacts appear on "MVOIP application".
I know how to do
(a) - By synchronising google contacts,
(b) - by choosing display options
(c) - I do not know how to handle this and I want help.
I'm currently running Froyo after running the RUU: RUU_Bravo_Froyo_HTC_WWE_2.09.405.8_Radio_32.43.00.

My desire has HBOOT 083 - which I know can be problematic when flashing. My question is:
Is the unrEVOked v3.21 method of getting the new recovery menu the best/easiest/most reliable way to enable me to flash new roms on my phone? Are there any caveats? Anything I should be aware of beforehand? According to teppic74's thread, this version of Froyo cannot be rooted at the moment, which I'm not bothered about anyway. But, it would be nice to try some of those lovely new roms.
I have just got my HTC Desire and was wondering can you arrange the icons in the main menu (the big list)? Some i will never use and would be better at the bottom.
