Can touch wiz be disabled?

I have alarm clock set to go off 7:00AM. If I disable the alarm for example 6:50AM, it still goes off 7:00. This is very annoying (especially for my wife who is usually screaming from the other side of the house: SHUT YOUR ALARM ********* ) My phone is Galaxy S with Froyo. Has anyone encountered this kind of problem.

question is, why disable useful things like this? they did it a while back with allowing apps like tasker access to turn on gps (secure settings). It's annoying to get new features in new versions of android but have other parts taken away.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 and suddenly appeared an icon in the status bar with the character "i" and a prohibited sign (Screenshot attached). Since then it seems I don't get the notifying icons (email, texts, etc...) but if I pull the bar down, i can see the notifications in full format (email with sender, text, etc... as always).
How to re-enable again the notify icons?
My U20i touch screen either malfunctions or disables when connected to PC...

View 4 Replies View RelatedYesterday I was having fun trying out the secret codes (like *#*#4636#*#*) and tried out the touch screen code. Then clicked on update (firmware).
Then the touch was not working. I tried taking out battery and putting it back on. Tried factory reset after backing up data with Kies. Tried rooting the simplest way. Tried to flash using Odin with a recovery and pit file. Still nothing is working.
My phone doesn't want to turn on anymore. What should i do? I tries multiple battery, but i think its the phone its self. Also my charging port doesn't work.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI went upgrading from Jelly Bean to KitKat 4.4.2 on my Note-3 (T-Mobile), and since upgrading, the Note-3 no longer transfer data at USB 3.0 speed anymore, only regular 2.0 speed. i tried using new 3.0 cables, still the same issue, and my other 3.0 devices work in the USB 3.0 port on my computer with no problem. And on my phone, even the menu choice for 3.0 no longer shows as a third optioned. i downloaded and install Kies 3 and the USB drivers from Samsungs website, the same with there Galaxy Note-3 after upgrading to KitKat.
View 1 Replies View RelatedJust wanted to relay my issues that occurred with Startup Auditor. I use a Moto Droid 2.0.1.
First issue: I disabled Google Talk Startup as non of my friends have an Android device. This caused an issue with the Market. none of my apps would download the updates and I could not Download new apps. The Market is somehow connected to Google Talk. After enabling Talk and logging back in my apps started downloading.
Second issue: I disabled the stock messaging app because I am using Handcent SMS. This caused my text messages to delete themselves. When I opened my messaging treads all that was shown was my side of the conversation. After re enabling the stock Messaging app my messages started downloading and showing up in the treads. Handcent must use some of the same things that the stock app uses and Startup Editor was killing.
I have Samsung Galaxy Y Pro Duos. I installed an application related to ROM DEVELOPMENT. It had an option under 'task manager' to make it a 'User App'. I mistook it as something else and selected it. Now the Task Manager in my phone is disabled. Not shown in anywhere in the phone. As i press my home key long, it shows recent apps with a option "Task Manager". but m not able to select it. as i click it, the phone hangs and is rebooted.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy problem with my s3 is the home button, when i'm on a app ( doesn't matter wich one) and i press the home button, it takes like 4-5 seconds before i see the home screen, and then it has to redraw itself. I already searched here but all i coild find was the animation set to 0, 5 and disable-ing tje s voice command.(what i already did)
I tried removing every home screen and put 1 app in it. Didn't work.I didnt try factory reset , because i dont want to lose all my data.. ( even tough i could backup it somewhere)
I run my own website over ssl. I haven't bought a trusted certificate, but have generated my own root cert. From this one I have generated various other certificates for my servers and clients.
When I install those certificates on my stock Galaxy Nexus or my CM9 Touchpad, ICS tell me that I must set a pin/pw/pattern to unlock my device. It seems there isn't anyway to store certificates without enabling one of these unlock method.
Once the certificates are installed there is no way to reenable slide to unlock without removing the certificates from the device.
I don't want that. I have generated my own certificates and I have full control on them at the server side. If my device get lost or stollen, I just need to revoke them, and I can do this easily. So this type of security is useless for me.
I would like to be able to use slide to unlock or even "no lock screen" while keeping my certificates installed on my device.
It seems like my 3GEdge is disabled and I can't re-enable. I installed APNDroid and using it to turn it on and off makes no difference. Power cycled the phone a few times. Wifi on or off, away from hot spots nothing seems to ever get me a mobile data service now. Dug through all the menu settings I can find and everything appears to be turned on but I never get the symbols at top or any data.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI know some of you have been wanting to get rid of that annoying startup sound on your phone. Here's what you'll need....(some instructions copied from Maerlim to save time)
You'll need the Android SDK (guide to download and install is here)
You'll need the USB drivers (Stickied post in this forum)
You'll need root access (look for the Captivate Root thread by chaoscentral)
You'll need Busybox (available on the market after you root the phone)
Connect USB to phone with USB Debugging ON
Open a Windows Command prompt in the SDK install directory
cd tools
adb shell
su
cd etc
*******************
I suggest backing up the file before deleting
cp PowerOn.wav /sdcard/
*******************
rm PowerOn.wav
exit
exit
THAT'S IT! I renamed the Windows 7 logon .wav file to PowerOn.wav and copied it to the /etc directory on the phone played it on startup, so you should be able to put whatever you like in there!
If you want to copy a file there.....
Open a Windows Command prompt in the SDK install directory
cd tools
adb push "the location and name of the file on your pc" /sdcard (example adb push %userprofile%DesktopPowerOn.wav /sdcard)
adb shell
su
cp /sdcard/PowerOn.wav /etc
exit
exit

View 9 Replies View RelatedI used to have two Google accounts, one private and one for work. Unfortunately, I have been fired a month ago and I have no more access to the latter. I believe it is still active but they changed the password and I just can't login.
The problem is that all the apps registered in my Google Play under this account are not available for uninstall or update. Each time I try, I get the message "Authentication is required. You need to sign into your Google Account."
The apps work well on the Android phone but I can't manage them. Moreover, I can't reinstall apps that I uninstalled using the disabled account. All the apps that have been installed with my private account are managed just fine.
I am using a Samsung S2 (GT-I9100) with Android 2.3.3. Google Play Store v 3.7.15.
how I can get the control back on those apps?
My Samsung Galaxy S Duos GT-S7562 is having many problems. First of all it is taking a lot more time to charge the battery and it gets very Hot while charging.
Wifi is also Disabled. I am not able to turn the Wifi on. And Phone is getting switched off Automatically. It won't even turn on until and unless I remove battery and insert it back. Tried to do Factory reset but no dice.
Just a quick question about the Captivate. I just got myself an HTC Aria and I love how easy it is to use the touch screen on it. Its extremely responsive. Now my sister has the SamSung Instinct on Sprint and the touch screen is horrible compared to HTCs touch on the Aria. Im thinking about taking the HTC back to AT&T and getting the Samsung Captivate. I am just worried about the touch screen on it and if it will be like the Instincts? If the touch is as good as HTCs Ill get it. If its not, then Ill stick with the Aria because despite its size, its an extremely fun and responsive phone. Any thoughts?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have been trying to get my rooted Galaxy Nexus to load the CWM Touch recovery image, and I just can't seem to get it to stick. I originally just tried to install the basic non-touch version from Rom Manager. When it rebooted, I got the red ! and a dead robot. So I booted into fast boot, and flashed the touch recovery. After flashing if I go straight to recovery, I do get the CWM recovery and can backup. My problem is that if I the reboot the phone, I can never get back to it again. I always end up at the red ! and a dead robot.
I read on another thread to rename the file "/recovery-from-boot.p" to "recovery-from-boot.p-bak" and that it might require reflashing the image. I moved this file and re-named it, reflashed, booted into android. Then powered off and booted into recover mode, just to see the red ! again.
It seems that when I first flash I can go into it, but anytime after that it just dies. I could probably just go ahead and flash a new image to the phone but I don't feel good doing that while the recovery image seems to need re-imaging every time.
My galaxy s3 screen has broken. It didn't shatter but it does not light up or respond to touch. I know it is on because the light in the upper corner that blinks for notifications works and the soft keys light up when the power/lock button and volume button are pushed. I can not see or save what I have on my phone through Kies because I cannot unlock it. Is there was any other way to unlock a phone like through a website or program without using the touchscreen?

I make a mistake and flash N7105 boot.img to my device as i test somethinks so now my touch doesn't work.
I give you the decompiled Keystring_factory.apk.
I have the device for 17 days and i know i can restore all thinks and go to Samsung Service center but i dont whant to do that on a new device.
I'm trying to set up a tasker profile that will save some time (and my phones hardware...).
In a nutshell: When using a particular app, I would like the screen to turn off after a short period of time, but (and here's the bit I can't figure out) allow it to be unlocked just by touching the screen (i.e. no hardware button presses required). Is this possible with Tasker?
I was in the pool when I dropped my phone in it. It was only submerged for about 2 seconds. I was at a friends and they didn't have white rice so i had to put it in brown rice-- all day. Then today I put the battery in it and it acting the same, everything works but when I touch the screen it doesn't do anything. It has now been in a air tight sealed bag full of white rice for about 3 hours... It still doesn't work.. I have college tomorrow and I need my phone...
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy galaxy s2's screen has occasionally stopped responding, the os was still running and everything so it wasnt frozen, my touch screen just simply stopped working. Only way to fix it was to hit the back of the phone and do a battery reset. This issue started poping up more and more, and now it won't respond.

No custom roms/kernels have ever been installed, has always run off the stock. Never been dropped or had water on it (I took very good care of it).
The nav bar at the bottom (back/search/options/menue) and hardware buttons all work. Everything above the screen no longer works.
What iv done: I've reset the phone, did a bettery pull for the night, fully charged it, looked at the board and checked all the connections (all good). Would flashing a custom rom/kernel be something to try next? Why would the bottom nav bar work but no the rest of the screen? Could it be locked somehow? If it is.. how would I unlock it?
I have noticed that after the last update, my touch screen doesn't work for a few seconds on random occasions and then works again after about 3 or 4 seconds. when I'm reading a book and they're about to reveal the mystery or enthusiastically playing a game and it stops working, I get increasingly frustrated that I can't turn the page or that I lost the game because during the last few seconds my touchscreen decided to temporarily stop working.. I just want to make sure there's not something wrong internally.
