Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 :: Touch Screen Frozen?
Sep 30, 2010The date and time is Sept 30 2010 at 11:32am. Which i set and is correct and is correct on the smaller clock on top right hand of the screen. However, on the bigger time and date that "floats" on the touch screen it is still reading 9:43am with yesterday's date which is the 29th of sept. Then when i want to change my phone setting to either vibrate or silent....again, the smaller notification is correct but the big setting that "floats" on screen keeps telling me its on vibrate when i try to change it. Is this normal?

Nov 12, 2010SE and all X10 user, it's so great after the x10 had officially released the androind 2.1 OS,but there are few problems that i had experienced which really irritates me and disappointed me.
1) i'm not sure anyone of you has experience what i'm having here. while i'm typing the message, most of the time the qwerty keyboard's key will stuck and keep pressing even though my fingers are not touching on the screen, e.g while pressing the spacebar, it wil keep continue pressing... the most irritates me while i'm pressing backspace key it's stuck and what i've type previously all gone just that way.
2) i'm used to typing with chinese sms, while the words that i want to use was not in the small bar, there's a key to show all the words i want from the page. i scroll down and saw the words i want, but it's unresponding toward my touch, not only the words i want, but also the remaining words below the page.. why? wish you guys will be able to understand what i'm trying to say.
3) my headset was come in the box originally with my x10i, during the android 1.6 OS the button on the mic is able to answer/hang up the call.. but after updated to android 2.2, that button is not anymore useful,why?

Nov 11, 2010I have noticed that over the last 2 months that when I'm in a call It is not allowing me to use the touchscreen for anything including ending the call. At first i wasn't too fussed about this as i could just use the power button to end the call but it is extremely annoying when it comes to getting numbers or when you need to press numbers to get through the menus when getting hold of companies etc.

If Sony ever gives us an update to 2.1, which supports multi-touch,....Can the X10 screen support multi-touch, but restricted by the android version atm only, or is X10's screen only able to support single touch in the first place, and won't matter if android is updated?
Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 : Using Fingertips On Touch Screen / Not Responsive Accordingly
Apr 15, 2010Hey Androidforums mates, When I use my fingertips (index finger) on the touch screen (not my fingernail but just below it), it's not as responsive as using the flat part of your finger. Does this happen to you? Every time I use my fingertip to scroll around, it would always accidental open an app or accidental open up a link. If i use my thumb by the flat surface, it's fine as well.
Example:
The fingertip I was talking about is labeled "A" which I am having problems scrolling around with (seems like not sensing that part of the finger sometimes). If i use the part labeled "B", it's fine and 'connects' with my finger. It's fine when I press harder using "A" but that's CZ it is sensing more of my finger.

But then to install Astro, I need astro.The other alternative is to use the SDK. But the SDK route doesn't work, as the stock USB driver that comes with SDK does not support X10.

The problem i faced was wen i synced my phone with my goggle account and imported contacts from a vcf file that i had backed up earlier, all my contacts have same phone number multiple times. I have disabled syncing goggle contacts, disabled showing goggle contacts and just the phone contacts to show... but of i edit a contact and select the option of split contacts.

Oct 28, 2010I have a Xperia X10, great phone ! but some issues.
1) It seems to use loads of data even when i am not actively using the phone, and i have disabled google's background data setting. I would stop using the phone with the 3g connection on and my NetCounter app would say 2,5mb used , i would sleep and wake up and it would note 23mb used for instance. Does this phone send background info to SE and Google over and above what we can control in the settings. As i live in South Africa , our internet browsing cost are high even via 3G and this seems extreme. What should a average user be using in a month? ( ?MB)
2) The next issue blows my mind. Due to the fact that i used to have a SE p910i and it did connect with ease. The Experia seems unable to connect to the internet via the USB cable. It does connect to the PC to trf. files and music , photos etc , and it can use the internet via PC (connected to LAN) to do an update. Yet with my phone connected to PC i cannot simply use LAN through PC to browse on the phone. I know the phone is aimed at mobile connectivity via 2/3G and WiFi, i get that. But if my phone is connected to my PC most days when i am in the office ( it charges like this obviously) then why am i forced to use 3G or wifi, it seems odd that such an "amazing" phone in constrained like this. So if i want to browse the Android Market while connected to PC i am forced to use 3G or connect to a wifi network to do this , thus having to pay for data , that would otherwise be accessed if i could get access to the LAN.
Please can someone explain why an advanced handset, "smart" phone cant seem to do , what most handsets prior to these fancy touch screens could do. I mean i had a Samsung Omnia and decided to go back to SE, the Omnia could share its internet connection with my PC and it could also connect to the internet via the USB ( access LAN via PC)
SE dont you think it is embaressing that clients have to bring up issues like this. For all that android is , it seems more limiting in my experience so far , having used the X10 for 3 months.
SE please suprise me with some options or at least news of an update that can remedy what i would call an embarassing oversight. I think the Windows OS phones do this in their sleep.

Nov 27, 2010Last night I updated to X10i on the PC Companion. At first I freaked out when I turned by phone back on, but then began to enjoy the new look etc. However, I noticed that browsers and apps DO NOT work (Android Market, Facebook, browser etc) whenever I'm connected to my Wi-Fi at home, but when I turn the Wi-Fi off and let it go to 3G, they all work fine...wtf? My phone was sitting 2 metres away from the signal. It's definitely connected as it has the Wi-Fi logo on the top of the screen, it's just that nothing will load.I'm in Australia and we don't have the 2.1 update yet, so that's out of the question for now.

after talking to orange on the phone for a long time, They were very help full, unlike Sony Ericsson, it turns out that while at home when my phone says its connected to WiFi, and is usually as I have tested by turning of data 3G and things on the hand set. It is still using 3G and streaming through the mobile internet.
Orange tell me its a problem with the handset and they have had a few people with the same problem. Orange kindly didn't charge me for my data use and told me to ring Sony who were very unhelpful and just claimed it isn't the hand set. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if any thing can be done. I now try to always have the 3G off but not sure if that is going to help.

Sep 23, 2010Every time I plug my X10 into my PC or laptop, SE Phone Tools pops up with a windows explaining to me how to mount my SD card. If I close this window, it reappears about a minute later and will continue to do so until I quit PC Companion, mount my SD card, or unplug my phone. Is there any way to disable this window while keeping PC Companion running? I run PdaNet tethering software and will also sometimes charge my phone through my PC. Neither of these situations require me to mount my SD card nor do I wish to always do so. Either way, there should be an option within PC Companion to permanently disable this useless window (after a week of using the software, I was more than aware how to mount my SD card).

1. Updated X10 to the latest firmware.
2. Connected to My WiFi Network and given the authentication details.
3. Connection status is connected in X10. (There is no problem in connecting to my WiFi Network for X10).
4. I went to Browser and typed Google its coming as "Page Cannot be Displayed"
