View 2 Replies View Relatedi know you all gona say that i should have used forum search which actually i did and i still cant find the answer of how to root (most resent or best methods). today i decided to go the way most of you went and root my galaxy so i could enjoy some of the features or customise the devise for it to be either faster or better somehow (particularly im interested in fixing HW acceleration of openGL). but my main problem is still that ADB doesnt show my device in the devices list after adb_devices command... i think ive tried everything: reinstalling drivers and NPS, SDK 1.5 r1 putting in debbuging, restarting phone even using USBdeview soft to uninstall all android and samsung drivers and try to make it work but still nothing... all day wasted, many forums read, downloaded KAM187s drivers and still nothing im on H8 firmware how to make adb recognise my phone and list it) plus i want some info on how to push this openGL fix on my phone after i root it (if ever) by the way tried on Windows 7 and XP sorry for making a new thread but i think im not the only one whose phone is not listed by adb as i read it on other forums.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have heard many many many references to 'fastboot' it's obvious it's on the phone, but every time I look at a rooting or firmware update guide, it seems to imply that it's part of the android sdk. 'just go into the tools folder then run fastboot command filename.ext'But fastboot.exe, fastboot.com, fastboot.bat, fastboot.msi. any thing that would cause a command called 'fastboot' to run out of that folder does not exist in the android sdk.So where is fastboot coming from on the pc side of things. where specifically is this component or program gained? should it be in the sdk? I've installed every release of it, it's not in any of them. This lack of 'fastboot' on the pc side of things is the only thing that's stopping me at this point.Where is this fabled, and seemingly non existent fastboot application?

So, I've been trying to make my calendar start on Sunday, I have changed the settings to do so, but the calendar still starts on Monday.
I use CalWidget and in the "Miscellaneous" settings I've ticked the "Week starts Sunday" setting, still no luck.
My cloud Google Calendar starts on Sunday as well.
Am I missing something? It doesn't seem to me like this should be hard to do, and I'm not computer or Android illiterate, but I just can't seem to figure this one out.
The moment renders multi touch zooming obsolete as far as I am concerned. Yeah, it might be neat. But IMHO, the zooming buttons on this browser works better. The centering feature when zooming works better. And you can zoom with one hand. Anyway, I will not miss it at all and I think the zoom feature on this is much better.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just read about how the Nexus one doesn't have multi-touch enabled, even though it has the capability. The Moment has the capability for it too, but doesn't have it enabled either. Anyone happen to know why the phone makers bother spending extra money on multi-touch screens only to not enable it?
View 13 Replies View RelatedHey everyone, I'm hoping to get the answers i'm looking for here so I can become a new Moment owner and a part of this community. First off, I have a palm pre and really do love my phone. It's great for movies and internet browsing. It's also just a slick looking phone. However, it's hard to ignore the growing giant that is Android. I have thought about getting the droid, but I don't like Verizon's plans, internet speed, nor the lack of a physical phone button. With that, i'm hoping some of you can help me with a few questions.
1) Can the phone physically support multi-touch. I know that the phone isn't set up that way, but with the Hero and Droid, you can download the Dolphin app and it will make multi-touch possible. The main thing I want is to be able to pinch zoom. That may sound corny, but I love it. It's the main reason I wanted a Pre.
2) Is there an auto-complete for typing like the iPhone or Droid. When playing with it, I didn't see one, but maybe it's a feature you have to turn on.
3) How is the hardware casing holding up? It looks awfully plastic and that scares me.
4) Is there another Sprint Android phone with a physical keyboard coming out in the next year I should maybe be waiting on?
5) How is the media player? Watching divx, making playlists, going through pictures?
6) Can you multi-task? This is a big one for me. I like being able to text, get a phone call, answer it, and go back to my text without a hassle. Same with the internet. I like to be on a conference call, and go surf the web at the same time, maybe even have a texting conversation, conference call, and surf the web at once. You wouldn't believe how many times that comes up.
7) Overall, what is you favorite thing about the phone. What's the thing you didn't know you loved until you had it.
Thank you all again to those who respond. I'm not trying to be lazy by not searching, believe me I have, but I always seem to get misinterpretations of the questions and answers.
Every time that I try to install an apk file, the phone says "Installing" then it says "Application Not Installed".
I am trying to get the Droid X's multi touch keyboard on my Fascinate. Has anyone tried to do it? Does it work for you? How did you do it?
Is there such a thing for the HTC desire? also, is there a app that lets you see how many multi touch points the htc desire has? i saw some youtube vids where that have this app and they put as many fingers as they can on the screen and scribble around.

I tried Viber and Tango, Both doesn't open multi window or support any. I know it can't be open two of them on the same window but it should be open with other apps on the same window on Galaxy Note 3. Some other apps like Chaton, Youtube can be open two windows on the same screen ( it has two split windows so you can watch two different youtube on the one window. For example, you can open two differnt snow boarders on one window and compare them. It is awesome.). Multi window mode works with other apps fine.
I purchased the IR overlay from here [URL] I got it working with my mk808b by using an idc fiile, however, it only allows one touch point which means no zoom. On the computer it is multitouch.

View 9 Replies View RelatedAs far as I understand, Android and the Galaxy touch screen is not meant to be calibrated; at least, there does not seem to be a user interface for doing so (this is also true of the tilt and compass sensors, and yet various apps include their own calibration methods.)
The trouble is that I frequently --perhaps 40% of the time-- hit the key to the right of the one I meant to type. That is, I get an "M" instead of an "N", a "Z" when I intended to shift into uppercase, and so on. One might argue that I just need to get used to this teensy keyboard, but I might argue that a good user interface should get used to me. Is there anything that can be done?
I currently own a Palm Pre and I'm ready to ditch it for an Android device. Don't get me wrong, webOS is clean and has a lot of potential, but for now...lacking would be a good (albeit understated) word to describe it. I want to jump the Pre ship for the Samsung Moment, but one thing I keep reading about the Moment is bothering me - everyone says it doesn't have multi-touch. However, I recently read that multi-touch is something Android doesn't yet support. This knowledge was previously unbeknownst to me since I haven't used an Android device since the G1 first launched. Since the Moment uses a standard Android build, the OS wouldn't allow multi-touch even if the phone were capable of it. So my question is: Does anyone know whether or not the Moment is capable of multi-touch? If it's simple a shortcoming of Android, I can deal with it since I know Android 2.0 should finally support it.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI was originally going to get either the HTC Hero or Motorola Droid but found out they are both CMDA. and the Milestone is out of my budget. People have been suggesting to get the Samsung Galaxy S, that's also out of my budget and looks too much like an iPhone. So i stumbled upon these two phones.I'm leaning more towards the Spica because it has superior battery life, and 800mhz compared to the 528mhz the i7500 has. and it can also play DivX.What's making it a difficult decision is the i7500 has an AMOLED Screen. It can display 16,777,216 Colors while the Spica can only display 65,536 Colors I'm not too sure if that will make a difference. Also it has 5mp w/LED Flash while Spica is only 3.2.One phone has a little of both. This will be my first Android phone I'm coming from a Sony Ericsson W995.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just got the Samsung Galaxy S Captivate. Seems like a nice phone. Every phone I've had in the past (Nokia, Sony, etc...) has always allowed me to hide my number so that the call display on the receiver's phone shows my call as 'private'. This is useful for when you don't want certain people to have your number when you call. Is there a way to do this on the Galaxy S? I couldn't seem to find any setting how.
