To anyone who has the SF do your home screens switch from portrait to landscape automatically when you hold the phone sideways? Mine does in just about all other screens but not the home.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm running Launcher Pro and only have one home screen.Earlier my phone was locked and I hit the unlock button and there is no unlock puzzle piece. The capacitive buttons don't work, I can't pull down the menu, but the screen is there.So I reboot.It works fine for a few mins but next time when I unlock all the icons are missing from my home screen except the 5 dock buttons.Capacitive buttons are fine, menus work fine, even the app drawer.I went to task manager and killed Launcher Pro and restarted it and everything was back, but I've never had a lick of trouble with it before and suddenly it starts.The only thing I can think of is that a little while ago I went under preferences and hid several of the apps from my app drawer (many of which are on my home screen) but I wouldn't think that would adversely effect function/stability.I've been running LP for over a week and it's not given me a luck of trouble before this, and then two issues in under an hour? Any ideas?

I'm loving the Android.I have to say that after 5 days of owning this device I'm only left scratching my head on one point the auto-orientation of the home screen.I've seen videos of rooted G1's running the hacked 1.5 firmware and the recently posted video of the Samsung i7500 with the 1.5 firmware all CLEARLY show that when the device is on home screen, the desktop (read home screen) auto-rotates depending on the orientation of the device. The Samsung video shows it working in ALL FOUR orientations!This doesn't happen on my Magic . Flip the orientation in an application? Works fine. Flip it back in an application? Works fine. Do it on the home screen?Am I missing something? Is this a feature that is disabled in the offical 1.5 Cupcake release? If that's the case - fine with me. I'll stop scratching my head and move on.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI dont know if this is a "feature" of ADW Launcher or if it also does it on a stock Fascinate.... but when I have it plugged into a USB cable on a computer the damn thing chimes every time the screen changes from portrait to landscape, dadada ding! dadada ding!.....every time i pick it up and that is really starting to get annoying!

I've seen some other Android Phones/Tablets doing this and would like to be able to do so. Or does anyone know if this will be an option in the 2.1 update? I heard that the Droid used to do this, and then some update messed it up, but then saw it going into landscape mode on the video they posted today of the Droid running 2.1.

If the device is portrait mode, the system sets to landscape mode. With G-sensor, theres is a SensorService to detect that and do some things to reach the function. I want to know how to reach that? I have installed google search etc and its mostly running like her Eris was BUT the car home app that pops up when you place the phone in the car mount is the Samsung Bing app. The icons point to VZ navigator etc and she is like WTF I can't get the nav to work. Anyone know the easiest way (here come the "root the phone man....." comments) to disable the car home or replace it will the stock google one?

It happens when I'm in the browser, email app, etc. There does not seem to be any rhyme or reason behind it.
I made a make-shift "docking" station for myself because I am too cheap to buy the one from Verizon. How do you keep the screen from turning off?I know the droid 1 used magnets but the Fascinate seems to use something else and I can't figure it out.Does anyone know?
View 2 Replies View RelatedCame into work this morning, plugged the phone into the Samsung dock, was trying to get to my gmail when the screen went out. Well, I've had some annoyances with the screen timeout, so I thought nothing of it. Tried pushing the power button. Nothing. Took the phone off the dock. Tried again - nothing. The backlight comes on on the capacitive buttons, but the screen is black. Held down the power button - the power off/airplane/silent toggle comes on. Okay, I thought - maybe it's frozen up. Powered down, got the VZW splash screen. Powered back up, got the whole bootup animation. After the VZW splash screen, screen goes black and I'm right back in the same place again. I've also tried this process with removing the battery. Same thing happens. Seems to linger at the Verizon splash screen longer than I remember, too, on bootup. About 20 seconds. So to recap, here I am: The backlight on the capacitive buttons is on (and not dimming, btw). If I hold down power, I get the power off menu. Otherwise, the screen is black, and not responding to any button presses. I'm running Launcher Pro, otherwise stock/not rooted. Need help - don't have time to go wait at the vzw store for an hour today.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI opened this app (battery booster, can't post link because I am new) after downloading it excited to hoping it was better then a previous one I was trying that seemed to do next to nothing.I saw the brightness button and hit it. It showed 11%. I was like oh I thought I had this all the way down.so I use the scroller to take it all the way down assuming 0% meant that it was the lowest it could possible dim the screen.well it sure is a battery saver considering I can't even see my screen as its completely BLACK

View 16 Replies View Relatedmy fascinate is rooted and i attempted (foolishly) to replace the default device fonts. however, after following directions and "successfully" completing the steps, my phone rebooted and is now stuck on the samsung reboot screen. i've tried wiping all data, removing cache, removal of sd card, and rebooting and i'm still stuck on the samsung main reboot screen.is there anyway to fix this issue or at least restore my phone using terminal on a mac or command on windows? and if this is possible, would debugging have to be checked because i unchecked debugging after i rooted my phone.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAre you kidding me ? Not only can I see this screen outside in the sunlight, I can see it outside in the sunlight WITH MY SUNGLASSES ON. Coming from the Dinc I had a very hard time seeing that screen in the sunlight. How could I ever go back to any other kind of screen? This SF reminds me of when I first started dating my wife. Wasn't the greatest when I first met her, but the more I got to know her the more I couldn't get enough of her.

View 5 Replies View RelatedAnyone have this problem where when they are on a call the screen locks and you can't hang up the call until you unlock the screen or the other end hangs up? Is there a setting to not lock the screen when on a call. This is driving me nuts to always have to unlock the screen just to get to hangup the phone. From what I can tell I think it happens only when I make the call. But if a call comes in when the screen is locked it allows me to hang up after the call. I check most of the settings and i don't see any options for that...
