Samsung Fascinate :: Soft Keys Light Up With Notification Of Email Text?
Nov 17, 2010Is there a setting in LP or any apps that would allow me to toggle off and on the soft keys when a new notification comes in? Anytime I get an email or text the soft keys stay lit until I check the message.

Oct 15, 2010When you get a new email, is there a way to show on the notification bar that you have a "New Email" WITHOUT showing a preview of it? The reason I ask is because I use App Protector to make my email private but it still shows a brief preview when a new email arrives. I still want to be notified when there is a new email and have the blinking notification light. I thought about asking here before emailing the developer for that particular app.

Sep 30, 2010I have my work email setup in the email app. Ive never had an issue sending email on any phone ive had before.
All of my settings are correct and i can receive them fine.
They just sit in outbox and whenever i go select them all and tell it to send selected messages nothing happens. They don't send and I don't get any error or anything.

Nov 10, 2010I just started noticing this yesterday, and it's bugging the crap out of me now.
Essentially, this is what's happening.
I'll get a text, and in the notification bar where it shows the preview of a text, it'll say "Sarah Klein hey what's up?"
So then I'll pull down the notification area and in that it will again say "Sarah Klein hey what's up?"
Then I'll open the text.. and it's actually from another person! So the notification bar will say one name, but when I open the text, it goes into the actual person's sms thread. This has happened 4 times in the past day now that I've noticed. Has anyone else had this happen?

Is there a way to either:
a) set the native text appl so that there is no content preview in the notification bar, or
b) with Handcent still have the special puzzle piece show up on your lock screen when you have a new text message?
I really liked how that puzzle piece showed up but now it is gone and I suspect it is ever since I installed Handcent and I don't know how to get it back.
Follow up question -- if I go back to the native text app, is there a way to increase the font size of incoming and outgoing messages? I don't want to have to put my reading glasses on everytime I get a text.

Oct 23, 2010I've just noticed a few things on the SF that have made me wonder if I'm missing something or if it can be changed.
First scenario.. I'm reading a text. I hit the "back" button, and it throws me to the homescreen sometimes. Then I hit the messaging button again, it brings me back to that specific text convo. I hit the back button again, and it now goes back to my inbox. Why? Is there something I'm doing that sometimes kicks me back to the homescreen instead of inbox?
Second scenario.. I'm sending a text to 2+ people. When it sends it, it essentially makes up a new contact of those people to send it to. What it should do, I think, is update each individual person's text log with that text. I find it really annoying to send a text to 10 people, and then when I get a text back from one of them, the text I sent them doesn't appear in the history. Any way to change that?
Thirdly.. I'm sure I'm just missing this, but is there any way to "mark read all" emails? I get a lot of junk emails, and so far I've had to just click through each one. Kind of cumbersome.
And this last one doesn't pertain to either email/messaging, but it's something that has caught my eye. Sometimes when I get a call, it goes to that whole "puzzle" idea and makes me fit the "Answer" puzzle in the blank spot. Other times, it just has an "Answer" button to click. It doesn't really bug me, but why does it do one sometimes instead of the other?

Oct 27, 2010My email from my pop3 account worked fine the first 2 days (Sept 22). Ever since my company pop3 account will not sync unless I reboot the phone. It will not manually load messages. And has anyone else had issues with viewing emails? OMG is it slow. I moved from BB to the Facinate. BB has got them beat by a mile on emails. We won't even talk about syncing with outlook and the salesman at Verizon.I do not have the update as mine will not update which Verizon said SOME are having issues updating.

I installed Gemini, and turned on the Notifications, but it tells me to disable any other notifications. Oct 3, 2010I bit the bullet today and got a Fascinate. When I was playing around with the Captivate at the store I noticed the shortcuts when you pull down the notification bar, the ones at the store were silent, vib only, etc.
Now that I'm playing around with the Fascinate I find that its shorcuts are BT, WiFi, etc. Is there a way to change the shortcuts that are displayed when you pull down the notification bar? I can't seem to figure out how to do it.
Android :: Unable To Start Activity - Load Home Screen Or Show Notification During Calls
Dec 18, 2009Has anyone been successful showing a notification, starting an activity, or loading the home screen *during* a call on the Droid? All three of these actions can be done with the emulator running 2.0, but will not run from the Droid. I don't receive any type of notification that these actions fail on the Droid. Although, every action works when a call is *not* active. Missed calls during a call *do* show up in the notification bar, so I am hoping there is a way.
I understand that the notification bar can not be accessed by users during calls, but it would be nice if a notification could at least be delivered. I also understand the security and usability concerns of displaying a window or action during phone calls. Although, there are a lot of users who would like actionable functionality based on calls.

Sep 29, 2010I have yahoo plus. When I loaded it on my Fascinate it was successful. I went thru all the steps fine. Now when I try to open the email it says Sorry! The application email (process.com.android.email) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again....force close
any insight? I would try to remove the email and start again, but the message pops up so quickly I cant even get to the setting icon.
