Does the synced Facebook contact pictures still show up blurry, or are the crisp like in 1.5? I haven't seen a thread about this so I thought I would ask.

Does anyone know why some contact pictures are blurry when they show up on caller i.d. and some aren't? Some of the pictures that are blurry are from facebook and from my pictures album. Although, not all facebook contacts come in blurry. some are perfect? This may sound like a small problem but an annoying one! Does anyone know why are how to fix this?
View 12 Replies View RelatedRecently I have noticed my contact pictures in my people widget and when someone calls me are rather blurry and out of focus, they weren't like this, just happened recently, I was wondering if anyone else has seen this problem and no how to correct it, without a hard reset. Have turned phone on and off, removed widget and put it back, looked in settings for some settings for pictures, nada, that I can find.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm having Facebook for Android on my phone which automatically syncs the FB profile pictures of the people in my contact list to my phone. I'd like to use those pictures within my app where I access Contacts Contract. Phone Lookup. Do I really need the Facebook SDK to do that? I guess not, but I cannot find any evidence of the pictures being saved somewhere around Contacts Contract.

I enjoyed the Facebook syncing on 1.5, but I don't really have any interest in bringing over my Facebook contact photos as caller ID pictures (it's annoying when someone posts a picture of a car, for example, as their default picture -- my friend is not a Toyota). I do like seeing status updates in my People app and having access to a unified "updates" panel in People.
I've gone into the "link" settings and changed the photo manually to the Google Contacts photo that I specified, and that works fantastically -- until Facebook for HTC Sense does its hourly sync and overwrites that preference with the contact's default Facebook picture AGAIN.
I've tried syncing, un-syncing, removing the sync option, etc. in the past 2 leaks and this problem remains. Am I missing something or is this just another annoying beta bug that HOPEFULLY will be gone in OTA?
Alright, a couple very minor issues I'm having that I can't get figured out. One, how do you edit someone's contact information who is synced with Facebook? It says that I cannot do this (seems odd that the phone would be set up this way) to a facebook synced contact. The second is, how do I manually sync my contacts to add new FB friends to my Droid contact list? Third (I know I said I had two), how do you create a separate Family/Frienda/Coworkers list within the contacts program?
View 9 Replies View RelatedMy 'accounts & sync' settings have always had 'facebook' turned off for syncing, and I have never turned it on. Yet this morning i was playing around with the bit in 'people' to try and see if the facebook bit in there worked and i would be able to link a contact in there with their facebook account. It asked me to log into facebook (after which incidentally it could not then find the contact in facebook lol). After that i went to the calendar and it now shows ALL 2500 facebook contacts birthdays!!
Please tell me there is a way to undo this. at no point did i ever select auto facebook syncing, or choose to import facebook calendar. Obviously now the calendar is pretty unusable as there are multiple bithdays on every day.
I have read a few threads, but they aren't saying the evo4g is having this problem. but mine is. i imported my contacts from my outlook and all the images are coming up blurry when i receive calls and make them. also, a lot of the images on my contacts aren't even showing up on the phone, but i see them in the outlook actually it looks like the Vermeer images i was using when i had my iphone aren't loading, but regular images are. anyways, for the regular images from the outlook sync to the phone, is there a way to get them clearer?

In 1.6 it used to be blurry too unless you added them via mediascape. Tried it all again on 2.1 and still blurry. Otehrwise the updates quite good except theres no FLASH!

It automatically synced all of my facebook friends that had there phone numbers on their profile. I dont want all of these people in my contacts. How should i go about doing this? Should i just manually delete them? I did get the new 2.1.

Whenever i sync a contact to Facebook, for some odd reason it changes the number for that contact. The number i have for the contact matches that of the number on their Facebook account.
I.E. 07890123456 on my phone, 07890123456 on their Facebook account( fake number, don't be silly ).
However, as soon as i sync the account to my contact on my Desire, the number changes to 447890123456.
try to call the contact and says numbers wrong, clearly because its suppose to be +44, not just 44.
have tried to edit number but still says 07890123456, and still wont work when i change it to +447890123456.
Anyone able to help?
So I have my Facebook account set to sync with my contact but I use Google voice all the time for text and phone. Is there a way to get the pictures that go with my contact to show up when they text or call my gvoice number?
All my pictures are from Facebook so if everything works right the pictures I see in gvoice should be the same as the profile pix in FB.
Quick Story: I had a HTC Legend, and i had a number of problems, so after some arse kicking by me, i got the Nexus one for 25 per month
I am not new to android: i have had the G1 which i did not root, the T-Mobile pulse, which i rooted and the HTC Legend and now the Nexus one.

With the legend i am am awhere of the Sence UI ? i liked how facebook contacts synced to my phone and when i rang i saw there display pictures, does the Nexus one do this?
SMS, is there a similar app to the legend, where you see threaded messages with a picture of there facebook dp?
I can't hear the phone when it rings, its so quiet, the volume is on max, is there anyway to increase this?

View 11 Replies View RelatedI just installed Handcent on my Droid and am having two problems. I checked the settings and can't figure out why these things aren't working properly.
1. The pictures from my contact list do not show up next to the texts. Every one of my contacts has a silhouette and question mark in place of the picture - which shows up fine in the default messaging app.
2. When a new text comes in, the new text notification pops up on the taskbar. I do not receive a handcent notification icon, and if I open the text with Handcent, the default message notification does not disappear.
With the new OTA that will be pushed out soon, will this correct the compression issue with contact pictures with Google. I have Google as my contact sync and whenever I pick photos of people they get all pixelated once it does a sync with Google. Also will it allow a full screen shot of the person instead of a cropped image?

I have my Facebook account synced and it shows the pictures under my call log, contacts, dialer, but does not show the contact pictures in my text messages? Anyone know how to fix this, it really annoys me seeing a bunch of empty picture slots when looking at my text message list.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have had nothing but great success with the leaked Froyo that I've been running since Saturday afternoon. Battery life seems to be improved, haven't noticed any FC's, etc... until today. I know that the Droid has had some camera issues namely the 24.5 auto focus bug and the auto focus hardware becomes faulty but this is new to me. I didn't have this problem with 2.0.1, stock 2.1, rooted 2.1, Pete's BB, Fab's NexBeast. There have been numerous kernels on the phone as well and going back through my gallery nothing was blurry. I have wiped the lens, made sure the camera app is on auto-focus, I've clicked the button once, twice, halfway, a dozen times, etc and I've even tried FXCamera - if the subject is more than 6" away it is blurry. I'm running the 1.0 P3 kernel but 1.1 & 1.2 have given me the same issue. I've tried this at 1Ghz, 800, 600 & 400Mhz. I know this is pre-release but is anyone else having the same issue?

Videos are VERY GRAINY, Pictures are blurry, I have tried every setting possible, I am on 8MP for camera and 720p for hd. Any chance there is a way to fix it? I have seen other peoples video and they are MUCH better than mines. And people said the Droid 1 camera was bad (which I had) this is awful.

View 27 Replies View RelatedI have an Eris. My friend has an Eris. His contacts have automatically d/l the Facebook pics from the corresponding contacts in his phone. Mine have not. I have to do it manually, which is becoming old. I set F/B to do it (I think) when I first got my phone.
