I tried the free compass from catch.com, plus some others, and I can't get any of them to calibrate correctly. Anyone else have these issues? I don't know if its the phone or the apps.

I've tried to use calibrate compass. I get the round compass to appear. I rotate the Droid X on all 3 axis. The compass never turns green to indicate a successful calibration.

It doesn't maintain a consistent reading (it jitters quite a bit) and has a difficult time finding North. I've seen this behavior exhibit itself in the GPS Test application and Google Maps. I loaded GPS Test on my girlfriends HTC Eris and her compass is accurate and a lot less jittery
View 7 Replies View RelatedRecently, After installing speed forge i found that my accelerometer is not calibrated, spaceship keeps moving left side and also I found that in inclinometer that there is variation of about 5 degrees. Even i had done factory reset but still the problem persist.
Is there any solution for calibrating the accelerometer ?
so i tried some apps that use it, like my game armageddon squadron, and it pulls heavily to the right. so i got pissed off at my phone and exchanged it for another, and it still pulls to the right. so im thinking it must be the game. nope. 4 other accelerometer games all pull to the right. how could i calibrate the sensor?
View 9 Replies View RelatedFirst of all I searched and couldn't find anything on this. Is anyone else having an issue with the screen not being very accurate? The on screen keyboard seems fine for me, but choosing something such as a link in the web browser is a little off on my phone.
An example would be opening www.wsmv.com (my local news), then trying to click on news on the left hand side...instead of news, it will choose what is below it (in this case weather). I thought it was my fat fingers, but others who have tried my phone experience the same issue. I was just wondering if it was just me? Any way to calibrate the screen?
Mine pulls slightly to the left. not enough to make me exchange my phone but enough to annoy me and make me paranoid.

how to activate and calibrate magnetic sensor on Samsung galaxy s3 I9300 the magnetic sensor is working finely on my friend's s4 with the magnetic cover but when i use that magnetic cover nothing happens. the screen doesn't goes off and on with it.. i can't understand bcz both phones show magnetic sensor in the sensors test..

View 11 Replies View RelatedI returned my first Fascinate due to it kept complaining the memory card was not plugged in. Would have to pop off the back of the phone off and remove then reinsert it to get it online again to use camera. Had to pay for an advanced replacement tell they get the old one back. Ugh. Well the replacement I just got does not do this but the compass does not work on it. I downloaded a compass app and it keeps saying abnormal readings and I need to recalibrate but no avail. My previous Fascinate seemed to have a working compass. Did I get a second defective phone?

Downloaded compass application and didn't find it to be very accurate. Used it next to a real compass and an Iphone with its compass....Iphone matched the real compass...this one was way off. Anyone have better luck, or did they get the compass chip from the same guy they got the crappy GPS chip from.
View 6 Replies View RelatedIs anybody else's compass completely useless? finds north(ish)... rotate the phone 90 degrees and it points in the opposite direction. move phone back where it was and the needle is in a completely different location. It makes apps like layer or skymap useless.

Has anyone figured out how to do this? When I hold my finger on a text and choose forward, I only get the box where I have to type in each contact individually. Is there a way to show a list of my contacts when forwarding or at least a way to forward to a group? I have groups set up, but there doesnt seem to be a way to access them when forwarding. I have tried every option and every menu and cant find out how to do this on the Epic?

Quite frankly my biggest worry about the Epic at this point is the lack of support in the future, but it def has some features I do like.. (Mainly the GPU / Processing)
