I am thinking of getting the Epic. But does sprint let you block calls from specific numbers? This is very important to have. If Sprint doesn't, which of the other galaxy S providers allow blocking?

Is there a way to block text messages from specific numbers? I don't want to receive the message at all.
View 1 Replies View Relatedi have tried nearly ever single application on the market that claims to block private numbers but it none of them work for me... Idk if its because of the Sprint service or the applications just dont work. I know GBlocker blocks the calls. But it dont block the texts, or prevent it from going to voicemail. Nor does it block private calls. There was this other one I had that blocked calls too but same thing with GBlocker. What i dont understand is that if you choose the option "BLOCK ALL CALLS" it will then block private calls. But the option to just block the private calls fails to work. Is there anything out there that actually works? I have considered buying extreme blocker for $5 but whats the point if it might not work? When blocked numbers call, i dont want their voicemails. Nor do I wanna know their calling.

I can do that, but it doesn't send the call to voicemail. Am I doing something wrong? I'd rather not use an app for this if I don't have to.

View 1 Replies View RelatedThis is a really weird deal. A friend of mine got an Epic about the same time I did, and we talked a lot, with both of us using speakerphone, and it sounded great. But at some point it started messing up, when both of us were on speakerphone. We get this really loud chirping sound, that goes away, if one of us turns speaker phone off. My friend also has this problem when talking to his wife, who also has an Epic. I don't experience any problems using speakerphone during any other calls, nor does he, unless they are Epic to Epic with both parties using speaker phone. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this odd behavior with their Epic? And if you haven't please try to test this out, with anyone else that has an Epic. At this point tech support doesn't have any other feedback, so I'm alone in the woods on this one.

I'm assuming this would also be useful on GoogleTV when it comes out. How would I even start? Is it possible to block access to specific sites without requiring the user to root their phone?
I'm guessing I could do it with iptables, but that would probably require a rooted phone.

If the phone was rooted, how would one go about doing this? Are ip tables the way to go or is there a better way?

I want to block the Sprint Hero for the widget bug and the Moment for handling contacts incorrectly. A huge fail on the part of Sprint.

I`am using Call Control now. This app can block non-numerical numbers. But no whitelist support.
Answer: information from cellular providers and from banks comes from such numbers. But they trapped in spam and you have always to look blocked log.
First off I apologize if this is answered elsewhere. I am a newbie and this is my first smart phone.I love the Epic everything works perfectly after I exchanged the first one for the back button issue.My question is I am listening to streaming radio in the car, through a cassette adapter that is plugged into the headphone jack on the epic and everything is cool. when I get a phone call - The radio goes off and I can accept the call, however here is the problem.When I answer the call I can hear the caller through the car speakers (makes sense) but they cannot hear me, I try pressing the speaker button and still they cannot hear me. I think the Samsung programmers have assumed that I have headphones plugged in with an attached mic and not a straight output jack.How do I answer calls in this situation?I am not willing to unplug the cassette adapter when cruising down the interstate at great speed.Is there a setting or a device (bluetooth or other?) that will enable what I need to accomplish.CLOSED - I just bought a $10 cable with a built in mic from Best Buy.

View 15 Replies View RelatedSort of two things which might be related. I've been having call quality issues with this phone since I got it. I thought it sounded very electronic and could hardly stay on the phone. Took it to a Sprint store and they did a soft reset and said they couldn't duplicate the issue. I made some calls, some said it sounded better. As long as I have the volume turned down it seems to be okay. But then it's hard to hear what they are saying. If I turn up the volume it sounds like someone is yelling too loudly too close to a microphone. Like bad speakers rattling or something (especially with "s" sounds).
On my headset which was $100 and worked so well on my old phone (people couldn't even tell I was on a headset) the person on the other side either says it's "okay" or says they can definitely tell I'm distant, to one friend saying it was "awful." When listening to Visual Voice Mail it's awful sound, regardless of the volume. Want to try to get a new phone, but then worried I'll have one of the other issues everyone else is having (WiFi or GPS or whatever).

Unfortunately, I get numerous calls, often with recorded messages, from people trying to sell me something for which I am not interested. On my old, non-HTC phone I would just add the unwanted incoming number to a contact called ?Delete? and set the ring for that contact to silent. The EVO 4G does not permit dozens of numbers to be added to a single number. If anyone has a better solution to tag a number as unwanted and not ring I would love to hear about it.
