Just wondering what launchers and themes you guys use. I have a fetish for the way the Droid X UI looks and was wondering what launcher imitates the Droid X UI best! Currently I have ADW and LauncherPro installed, but haven't found much time to look into quality themes for these launchers so I'm still using TouchWiz.What about you guys? Screens and links to .apk's encouraged!

I'm running pete's BBv.4 with the Blue Energy theme. I'm new to this whole rooting thing. How do the themes get those custom launchers? Are the themes suppose to automatically do that or do you need another app like Launcher Pro?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI decided to try Kies again. I set it up and hard set my USB connection on the phone to Samsung Kies. I plugged in my phone and didn't even get the notification from Windows that a USB device was plugged in.I unplugged the phone and plugged it back in, this time watching the phone. A very quick message popped up on the phone that said"PC connection available only in idle screen.Close running applications."I checked TasKiller and there wasn't anything running.I scratched my head for a minute and then on a hunch used Home Switcher to change my default and running home screen to TouchWiz. I plugged/unplugged my phone and it worked! It said "MTP application", gave the USB symbol and connected.I then switched my home screen/Launcher to LauncherPro and tried it. It failed like ADW did with the same error! I'm not sure what gives there, but it's something you may want to investigate if you're having trouble using an MTP application like Samsung Kies.

IE- can I install blue energy over Xtheme? Is there a way to revert back to the generic BB with no theme or do I need to restore a backup to accomplish this?

Alright I've rooted to Joeykrim 1.9.5 and I can't put themes ON. Also I can't find an UNCOMPLICATED way to get rid of unwanted apps. I think its because MAx's recovery isn't loaded but IDK. I've tried the volume, speak, end to load themes but doesn't work. Anyone give me a hand??

In terms of LAG being a major issue and customization. Watched several youtube videos of demo's but would like to have some first hand, not a G1, or a droids take on it.
how do I go about using all the icon packs for the phone or skins for widgets I'm finding?I installed LauncherPro today and am ready to customize but I'm unsure how.After searching I cant tell if i can just unzip the files on my computer and transfer them somewhere on the phone (not sure where) or if I need a third app like Folder Organizer?

View 3 Replies View RelatedJust wondering if anyone has any idea about themes with Galaxo 1.6.3? I grabbed a theme from this site (which has a GREAT tutorial by the way), but whenever i try to install one, my phone will not boot following the update. I get a similar thing to if you have not restored GAPPS where the screen will just sit on the boot screen but go no further. I tried restoring GAPPS to see if that was somehow the issue, but not luck.

A lot of themes say that will only work on cyanogen mod rom and i am not that expert to make experiments with my phone. The way of setting a theme must be the same (update.zip or correct me if i am wrong). I think we can make a list here of the working themes on galaxy and maybe a how to install or modify themes to work with galaxy.

View 1 Replies View Relatedi just successfully installed Galaxo 1.6.3.3 on my Samsung Galaxy i7500 and theres two issues here. First I can't import contacts through signing into my gmail account, it wont even let me get into that window by pressing the button from the menu. So do themes have to be exactly compatible with the version of Galaxo?Also, where is "Market" on Galaxo? was that removed?
View 8 Replies View RelatedToday I flashed XWJM8 on my Phone and it's all working perfectly, except there are no default sounds for my ringer and notification sound. The ringer is ok since I use one I downloaded anyways, but anyone knows how can I get the notifications sounds back/download them? It's hard to find a decent simple sound on the Internet.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have Zeam, Launcher Pro +, SLideScreen, SparkBETA & Zune Home launchers. I love Zeam and Launcher Pro +, but they are extremely similar to the stock home. I have no need for multiple screens and love having just one. SlideScreen is awesome but it crashes wayy too much. Zune Home is more of a basic, i like it but got bored with it quite quickly. I'm suuper in love with SparkBETA, it has the most beautiful UI IMO but because its in beta, its very laggy.So do you guys know of any interesting home launchers I have not stumbled upon yet? Any suggestions?

I now have a requirement to update my .apk files to 2.2 as well as build 6 additional .apk files that are made up of 6 completely different URL launchers to other WAP sites. I have successfully set up my Java and SDK environment My questions are: What is the best recommendation the group can suggest as a starting point? How do I open the .apk file in my eclipse environment to make the changes necessary? The Android Market says the following when I attempt to upload my .apk file: [quote] Market does not accept apks signed with the debug certificate. Although, HTC has figured out how to make a mighty fine bookmarks and calendar widget.I have tried LauncherPro and ADW but as most EVO users, battery life is a constant worry.Can anyone spell out how launchers and Android work battery wise? I have read that Sense is never really replaced so there would be an additional drain using launchers right? No offense but please abstain from any root related suggestions like 'just root it bro'

However, now when I press the "Home" button, only the default launcher takes over. I've tried uninstalling and re-installing both but nothing changed. Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone know how I might be able to get it so that I can switch launchers again?

I was interested if I could add htc widgets to that home screen so i wont be stuck with those crappy default android. I am well aware that you can download new widgets off of the market but none of them are of the same caliber of the htc widgets.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have tried using both launcher pro and ADW launcher, who have a reputation of being light launchers, and no matter how much I mess about with the settings, I always experience the same thing:
1: They are often not fluid when swiping screens, showing a little sign of lag or sluggishness that you do not experience with the Sense UI and which drives me crazy.
2: When unlocking the phones, the first swipe is always followed by a noticeable amount of latency.
This bothers me quite a bit, because I really like these launchers and I know of no other way to get the (from my POV) main advantage behind them (the dock).Any advice? I have tried messing about with the memory settings etc to no avail.
