i just successfully installed Galaxo 1.6.3.3 on my Samsung Galaxy i7500 and theres two issues here. First I can't import contacts through signing into my gmail account, it wont even let me get into that window by pressing the button from the menu. So do themes have to be exactly compatible with the version of Galaxo?Also, where is "Market" on Galaxo? was that removed?

Just wondering if anyone has any idea about themes with Galaxo 1.6.3? I grabbed a theme from this site (which has a GREAT tutorial by the way), but whenever i try to install one, my phone will not boot following the update. I get a similar thing to if you have not restored GAPPS where the screen will just sit on the boot screen but go no further. I tried restoring GAPPS to see if that was somehow the issue, but not luck.

A lot of themes say that will only work on cyanogen mod rom and i am not that expert to make experiments with my phone. The way of setting a theme must be the same (update.zip or correct me if i am wrong). I think we can make a list here of the working themes on galaxy and maybe a how to install or modify themes to work with galaxy.

i am creating a picasa web album client for my major project. i've almost finished with the coding.its just that i find my UI very dull.its very boring. looks like a command line User Interface. obviously i want to change that and want a good attractive gui for my project. can anybody tell me how to create a good GUI which is eye catching and attractive? please give me the code because it is very difficult to interpret the custom theme option at android.com can't comprehend how to use it. it'll be better if anyone can post a tutorial. there are some questions that i want to ask. can i use flash? is there anyway to use css templates for this purpose? i dun want my gui to be black and white and dull
View 4 Replies View RelatedI bought a theme off the market for GoSMS and GoContacts (the theme also has ones for GoLocker and GoLauncher as well which work fine). I have downloaded and installed the themes and gone through the steps to apply it but it does not show the theme. I had read that there is an issue with themes running Jelly Bean and typically if you can get the dev to email you the apk it will work. I have tried contacting the dev multiple times with no response. Any other way to get these items to work correctly? I know there are other options than the ones I selected but I really liked the look of this theme and am kind of picky. The items are linked below:

Google wasn't much help.Essentially after Fresh Updater (from 0.5.3) downloads a theme and attempts to apply, my phone reboots with the recovery screen and a "?" above the phone icon instead of a "!"Any help is wonderfully appreciated.Edit: I say instead of a "!" but maybe this isn't even what it's supposed to do.

a) Speaker doesn't work in call (very weak). works well in ringtones etc.
b) Scrolling contacts by letter doesn't work.
Other than that this is a leap forward, especially with the overclock options!
Both bugs, as well as others, fixed in 1.6.3.1 update!
I have some questions concerning importing contacts to the device, which is extremely slow.
First of all, if you delete all your contacts, google sync will restore it very quickly. However, when my app is adding contacts to the device, it's very slow (a few contacts per second). Even if I add almost empty contacts (with name only), it is a time-consuming process.
If I turn google sync off, importing 5000 contacts can take 1-2 hours (on HTC Magic). When google sync is on it can take up to 24hours. And this happens despite the fact, that application for the whole time is in the foreground, device is connected to charger and screen is on. I checked the logcat to make sure my app is adding the contacts the whole time, and it is.
I tried different methods and different devices. The results differ of course, yet manually adding contacts is always significantly slower that google sync. Is there any way that I can speed up the process? So that importing 5000 contacts will take less than an hour.
i7500 does 1.6 work on this model if so where can i get?

The ringer is ok since I use one I downloaded anyways, but anyone knows how can I get the notifications sounds back/download them? It's hard to find a decent simple sound on the Internet.

People have been suggesting to get the Samsung Galaxy S, that's also out of my budget and looks too much like an iPhone. So i stumbled upon these two phones.I'm leaning more towards the Spica because it has superior battery life, and 800mhz compared to the 528mhz the i7500 has. and it can also play DivX.What's making it a difficult decision is the i7500 has an AMOLED Screen. It can display 16,777,216 Colors while the Spica can only display 65,536 Colors I'm not too sure if that will make a difference. Also it has 5mp w/LED Flash while Spica is only 3.2.One phone has a little of both. This will be my first Android phone I'm coming from a Sony Ericsson W995.

I do have a query though - although I have followed the quick start instructions, I cannot import my contacts from my old SIM card. And now, my old SIM card is not playing in my old phone (SE C905) so can't try to send them as a vcard via bluetooth.

View 1 Replies View RelatedBecause I have to send my Samsung Galaxy I7500 back to Samsung (the audio plug is broken and does not detect disconnecting the headphone) I try to get my contacts back to my Sim-card. This is so I can use my good old Nokia 6200 again. Now since there are no options in the standard software, I downloaded this app. Contacts 2 Sim. It has a function for copying contacts and this SEEMS to work (it gives me a message saying it copied 192 contacts). BUT... When I put my Sim-card over to the other phone nothing has changed. Also when I, switch my Samsung off and on again (after copying to SIM) the contacts are already gone from the Sim again. Is my SIM locked or something? It is a bit annoying so if someone could help me out it would be great.

View 4 Replies View Relatedi think my gt-i7500 is bricked. i downloaded the 1.6 firmware(.tar) along with ODIN.. set up the downloading mode and used ODIN to flash it to 1.6. ODIN showed PASS in the window but the phone refuses to boot up. It remains frozen with the SAMSUNG sign. Recovery mode is not working either.
