Oct 4, 2010Just like the title says, does anyone know of a version of Odin One-Click Restore that restores it to JH7 firmware instead of JF6?

View 1 RepliesI did it last night, seemed to work fine, but I noticed something today. Under settings, applications, USB settings, there is an option for PC Internet that wasnt there originally. When I try to go to software update, it says Communication Failed. Unable to connect to ATT servers.
Coincidence that this started now, or is there something wrong? I reset the phone twice, and reloaded Odin twice. Everything else seems to work fine.
How do I get rid of all the apps, settings, email addresses, contacts, etc...basically get it back to how it was when it was bought from the store?
View 8 Replies View Relatedwhat Odin is, and how I use it for the Captivate? I have a vague idea, but I'm not quite clear on a few things, and don't know where to get it, and how to use it. If I understand correctly, it flashes my phone to factory fresh using ROMs. If I'm right, then I can use it to restore my phone(ATT apps and all) if I need to send it in for repair at AT&T. Am I right?

I was just trying to reset my phone with odin, and when it got to the step where it says "Do not turn off the target" Odin froze for a good 5-10 minutes. So I unplugged everything, and now the phone won't start.

View 5 Replies View RelatedOEM 1.6 Packages are uploaded now.Odin files for the 1.6 OEM update are now available! All necessary files and instructions are included in the download. To use the update you will need a Windows PC, USB cable, your Behold II, and about 5 minutes. Some users are reporting that after the update the phone will temporarily be stuck in a boot loop. This seems to happen when the user has previously installed certain custom ROMs such as Take5 and Galaxy R12.The work-around requires a complete factory wipe of the phone, meaning you will lose all of your data and apps not on the SD card.

For anyone needing to flash back to stock while XDA site is down, I located a simple guide and a link to Odin 1 click. What's Odin?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI think that says it all. Is there an app that will backup my entire captivate and restore it exactly the way it was from the backup?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am looking for a way to restore the Samsung Exhibit II 4G to the stock 2.3.6 ROM. NOT 2.3.5. I have found a way to get 2.3.5 on and I did but did not find a way to upgrade to 2.3.6, as Samsung's Kies software said my phone was not support in Kies 2.0. I flashed Peach Sunrise on it and am using it now but for future reference or errors would like to find a way to go back to stock 2.3.6. Any way or have the stock 2.3.6 rom that I could flash?
I used this thread originally (before I installed Peach Sunrise) to get back to 2.3.5:

I saw this thread post but I am not sure if it works, as it is from a different phone:

I can't seem to find the setting. I swear I've seen it before. I did start the update, but canceled it as soon as I saw it was downloading.would that be why I don't see the setting? I wanted to see if I the update was available a few days ago. I didn't know it would just start downloading it. I want to do factory restore before I do update because I'm rooted and done the lag fix.

View 14 Replies View RelatedI am a fool and uninstalled the stock messaging app.
Apparently this app is required if you want to receive MMS (I can send MMS and send/receive SMS just fine with Handcent).
Does anyone know where I can get the stock app? Titanium says it can't restore it because it's a system app.
I own a Samsung Galaxy S SGH-i896 and I decided to try and put on Cognition for a test, but before that, I did a android backup using ROM Manager. Now I thought this would save me in any situation...
So I flashed it over to Cognition, and it refused to connect to Rogers (as I expected) however, when I went to restore back, I would still get the AT&T start up, and the video was replaced by text that said "Android" in a weird font. I managed to flash it back to a stock AT&T ROM which worked well, but still wouldn't connect to the Rogers network.
I had tried to get into the ClockworkMod Restore Screen which I did finally get. I wiped all user data and cache, and restored from my backup...
Only to find my AT&T boot screen still there instead of the i896 screen and Rogers screen which would usually show. What can I do about this issue? Is there some kind of firmware or ROM from Rogers I need? I have a Rogers Stock firmware but that didn't seem to work either
Ok so I rooted my captivate. I then used the titanium backup thing to get rid of all the at&t bloat ware. I didn't back them up either (I know I'm an idiot) well now I need somethings back, like voice recorder. But I can't seem to figure out how to do that. I can format the phone clear all the stuff but nothing brings it back. How do I restore this thing to factory defaults with everything installed????? I'm also getting tons of error messages now too...

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have used the stock email app, and setup four email accounts on my Samsung Captivate. For what is now the second time, I had my email where I can view titles, it updates to show me new email titles, and I can even delete emails. My issue is that I have gotten into the mode where the email app dies when I try to view an individual email. Both AT&T and Samsung support has been the scripted delete an account then try to remake the account. no difference? Well then let's reset the phone.. Now at the second time this has occurred, I am starting to get frustrated with the phone (I really do love the phone otherwise).
The first time it happened, I first had all of my accounts wiped out. After reinputting them, it took a day for the crashes to happen. After resetting the phone and redownloading most of my apps, it took three days for it to start crashing again. The only "out of the ordinary" thing I did the second time was update four pieces of software ("Google Maps", "Dominoes", "Buffaloian", and one other one I cannot remember). The next morning, my mail crashing restarted again.
I did the one click lag fix and have to return my phone but it won't unroot properly and am stuck with the superuser skull and cross bones app on my phone?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if someone could post the "city" wallpaper that comes stock on the Captivate? Or, it may be easier if you could PM it to me. I looked everywhere and could not find it.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I may have "accidentally" deleted my stock email app during my overzealous purge of bloatware. Does anyone know if I can find the apk for the stock email to reload it? Would that even work? I'd rather not reflash the whole thing for just an email app.
