View 1 Replies View RelatedUntil now, have been using Android SDKs Emulator with the Eclipse plug-in, but recently replaced my non-Android phone to T-Mobile's MyTouch 3G Slide. Today, tried to install the Windows Android USB Driver for the phone. Followed instructions in http://d.android.com/sdk/win-usb.html (USB Driver for Windows Android Developers).
When looking for the driver, Windows gave me a "Could Not Find Driver Software" message. When telling Windows where to search, I pointed it to the SDK directory where the driver resides (¦Android-SDK-windows/ usb_driver). Also tried ¦Android-SDK-windows. Specified use sub- folders" in both tries. I am using Vista 64 bit, and suspect that may be the cause.
The "could not find.." message box from Windows has this information under Details:
Problem Event Name: PnPDriverNotFound Architecture: x64 Hardware Id: USBVID_0BB4&PID_0E03&REV_0100&MI_01 OS Version: 6.0.6002.2.2.0.256.1 Locale ID: 1033
In Windows Device Manager, "Other Devices ==>ADB==> Properties" shows Device type: Other Devices Manufacturer: Unknown Location: 0000.001d.0007.002.000.000.000.000.000 Device Status: This device is not configured correctly. (Code 1). There is no driver selected for the device information set or element
In the sdk's "usb_driver" directory, the "android_winusb.inf" file has several VID's beginning with 0BB..., but does not have one for the one listed above. Nor is there a [ ... ]header entry for the MyTouch 3G Slide (Expresso?)
I suspect this is the reason for the "Driver not found"
Am using the 32 bit version of "Eclipse IDE for Java Developers" downloaded last April. (At that time there were a lot of forum warnings about not using the 64 bit version.)
Today, before trying to install the driver, I uninstalled the Android plug-in from Eclipse and then uninstalled the Android SDK I had installed in April which was at the 2.1 level. I reinstalled the SDK at the 2.2 level taking "all items". Then reinstalled the Eclipse plug- in.
In the "Android SDK and AVD Manager" checked for any updates. There were none (I'd just re-installed, so that makes sense)
Information in this thread looked like a solution:
[url]
When I tried that, got the same message box.
These two threads from 2009 have entries that say the 64 bit driver is in the SDK I cant find it. Could be looking the wrong place though.

The android_winusb.inf has these two .CAT entries in it CatalogFile.NTx86 = androidwinusb86.cat CatalogFile.NTamd64 = androidwinusba64.cat
Using the information from the above ¦5512 thread, I added these lines to the [Google.NTx86] group immediately following the ";Google NexusOne" information and before the [Google.NTamd64] entry
CODE:.................................
When that did not make any difference, added: %SingleBootLoaderInterface% = USB_Install, USBVID_0BB4&PID_0FFF which was also part of a post. Made no difference
The .INF has a [ClassInstall32], entry, but there is no [ClassInstall64] entry. I do not know enough about INFs to know if that is needed or not.
I ran into the first problem with my Droid- and I am sure it is not the Droid itself. I am running Vista32- I have Motorola Media Link installed. When I plug my Droid into the PC, I get a mass storage device that installs OK most of the time, and an "unknown device".. Even when I mount the SD from the phone, I still see no Drive in my computer The unknown device never installs. I have tried almost every suggestion i have seen.. reboot pc..reinstall MML, reboot phone.. no luck
View 6 Replies View RelatedThe mounting and unmounting of the sd card, I read up and Ordered a class 6 verbatum card. But the big Issue is my windows will not recognize the behold 2. When I hook it up it tells me usb device not recognized then inside it says Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43) Port_#0006.Hub_#0005. I have tried to install the usb drives I found on this site but it will not allow them to install. I have gone in and deleted My upper and lower system file in the registry.
I have bought a new cable < universal> I did not have the OEM cable and Samsung refused to send me one said it was tmobiles responsibility. I have hooked it up to a Vista 32 bit system and nothing. Also when I hook it too the usb it only shows charging no usb notification on the screen. I seem to remember reading it should have a usb symbol on the upper right corner? I have also already set the system setting to usb mass storage.
I know that Google elected Windows XP (eXtra Problems) to be the minimum operating system, but was anyone here able to run it on win2k? Being able to run the emulator OR install the native driver (to debug in the device) would be enough. I really would not like to have to buy a new computer just because of android. Since I already work with many other platforms without problems.

I cant get my Galaxy to connect to my PC. I've searched through the posts on this iste and tried everything. Has anyone has the same issues and managed to fix it. I've not upgraded the firmwear as the phone is running AOK and I don't want to mess is up.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI did a quick search to try to avoid repeating questions that I have been answered before, but I couldn't find anything relevant. I've tried to connect my BH2 to two different Vista PCs, the USB icon on the upper left corner of the BH2 shows up, but I am not given any mounting notifications that I presume are suppose to pop up on the phone? The PCs don't recognize the device anywhere and I've formatted the SD card before. Am I missing a step (or driver) here?
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I connect my new Galaxy S to my computer using the usb connection, I can see both the internal and external SD card (I use a sandisk Ultra 16GB card). However I cannot open these disks. Windows refuses to open them. The right click on these disks in order to get their properties gives 0GB! So what is going wrong. Do the SD cards use a special format (linux ?) that windows can not see correctly.
I take chance of this message to give a short feedback of my first week with my galaxy S here in France. I got it from virginmobile operator. I have to say that this phone is amazing. What a screen ! My wife just purchased an iphone 4. By far I prefer the samsung's screen. Concerning the battery. One can go for one or two days without recharging. My feeling is that it is not shorter than the iphone's battery.
The driver works - but after a few sessions it's in la la land.
For example i can't download apps via eclipse and also cannot mount - if mounted cannot access drive. reboot and works for a few sessions - and same again. i've got rev3.
I have a new Captivate and am attempting to establish a USB connection with Windows XP sp2.
I have downloaded setup two different USB drivers, (1) from Samsung--I assume it's the official driver, and (2) from the Android SDK. Both installations ran without error. But when I attempt to install either driver, Windows complains that it cannot locate the driver. I'm at a loss.
Windows is finds the Captivate when connected but only intermittently. Sometimes it identifies it and sometimes it doesn't.
A few weeks ago, a friend and I went through the process of making my Behold 2 think it's a Galaxy (thanks to all who made that possible!). Now, after having played with it for a while and the lack of vibration annoying me, I've decided to try to use Odin to revert to the standard Behold 2 ROM.This is where my problem comes in: I am unable to get any USB Driver for the phone to work. In USB Debugging, out of debug, in download, or any other way I can think of. The phone just doesn't seem to want to connect. When not in USB debugging mode, I can get my computer to recognize the SD card and access files, and it'll charge, but, I can't get any other USB functions to work.
I'm not sure if this is a driver issue or if this is an issue with the phone itself.I'm running Windows 7 Pro 64bit.Could someone walk me through troubleshooting this?
I go to plug my phone into my computer and mount it and then I get a message on my computer asking do I want to scan the driver, When I click yes it does nothing, and then When I go to my computer to click my Hero Vista wont let me it says please insert a disk. If I click Continue without scanning I am able to get into the Hero. Whats going on here?

I just purchased a sprint htc evo 4G phone and am trying to tether it to my hp desktop computer; which has windows vista 32 bit.
I downloaded pda.net to my phone okay BUT I am having problems downloading pda.net to my hp desktop with windows vista 32 bit.

I am currently having issues installing my G1 in development mode on Vista 64 Premium SP1. I have tried both installing the drivers that come with the latest SDK and also the ones here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=446274.
Whenever I plug the phone in it comes up as an unknown USB device under device manger. When I go to update driver and point the installer at the correct driver location it either says 'the device driver is up to date' or when using the have disk option it says 'the folder specified does not contain a compatible software driver for your device'.
Not sure if this goes here or not, but I am having problems getting my Windows 7 machine to recognize my BH2. Is there a way to get the drives so I can install them so I can use my Mass Storage on my phone?

I download the drivers for the phone and they could not install and everytime I connect the phone to the computer it says the device is not recognized. The phone now can't connect and I can't see the files that are on the phone. I want to be able to put music and videos on my phone and I can't now. I have tried to do a manual update from the device manager, but windows believes it knows better and says the best drivers are already installed. I also tried to shut of the automatic driver installation through the system settings but it still installs its own drivers. This is getting extremely frustrating, when i run adb it says that there is no device connected.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have implemented a simple Android application that I now would like to test on a real device. I have a Nexus One. In the Android Eclipse plugin, I have downloaded and installed the USB driver (revision 3) package. But when I connect my Nexus One to my PC (running Windows 7) using the USB cable, a message box pops up and shows that "No driver found" for "Nexus One". I have activated USB Debugging on my device. And when I run adb devices on my PC, it just prints List of devices attached and no devices are listed. And if I use Device Manages in Windows, and tries to update the driver for "Nexus One", I can not select a driver in the "driver directory" of Android SDK. How can I install a driver for Nexus One on Windows 7 so I can use it for USB debugging my Android applications on a real device?
