Just wanted to know if anyone installed SkyFire browser on Galaxy R10?I get force close error everytime.Had same problem on R9 but went away after reinstalling and reboots,on R10 it wont work period.

View 3 Replies View RelatedNow "Flashing Take5 For Complete Morons". Here's what I wrote after succeeding with Take5:You do NOT need root access to flash Take5 or 1.6 stock. Odin does it all. So here's some more detail about how I finally got it done (thanks to everyone helping):
1. Download http://www.junefabrics.com/bin2/SamsungUsbBehold.zip and unzip the files, then run the "Setup.exe" file. Your phone does NOT need to be connected to the computer to install this driver.
2. Download Odin at http://www.4shared.com/file/nFe93F45/BH_MAN_WarHeads.html. This file includes other files but you need ONLY the "Odin Multi Downloader v4.03.exe" file (there may be another download location for it). So unzip this folder and put Odin somewhere on your PC so it's handy. Don't need to open it yet, though.
3. Download Take5 from http://www.4shared.com/file/h6HvytYX/BH_MAN_Take5.html. Unzip this folder that contains two files: "Behold2_partition.ops" and "BH_MAN_Take5.tar.md5".
4. Open "Odin Multi Downloader v4.03.exe" and then:
a. Click the "OPS" button and select the "Behold2_partition.ops" file
b. Click the "PDA" button and select the "BH_MAN_Take5.tar.md5" file (you may get a message saying "Image Image Type" but you can ignore it)
5. While your phone is still not connected to the computer, turn the phone off. Then you need to get into DOWNLOAD MODE. To do this, hold down (in order, and you KEEP HOLDING THEM) Volume Down, Center D-Pad Button (the round one), and then End Call. Remember: KEEP HOLDING THEM ALL DOWN THE ENTIRE TIME. The phone will turn on, and should say that it's in Download Mode (psz clarified this). It will take several seconds. Don't let go of any of the three buttons until you see "download mode".
6. Now that the phone is in download mode, connect it to the computer's USB port. When I did this, Windows asked me if I wanted to install drivers, so I said yes and let it do it's thing.
7. In the Message box in the bottom-left corner of Odin, it will say something about your phone being connected. Now you click the Start button in Odin. Wait maybe a few minutes and your phone will reboot and turn on with Take5 running.
8. Unplug phone from USB and enjoy.
I prefer the style of build-in browser. It looks more neat to me. However, it sometimes has trouble bringing up flash player even on youtube. It also won't open the log in page when I am connected to college wireless. Moreover, it would struggle to open some websites like Oregon Coast- Travel Lane County(If you change the date and click search, nothing will happen.)Well, skyfire can solve all these problems. It always open any kind of videos for me as long as it's flash. When I connect to wireless that requires log-in on website, skyfire would pop up the site as soon as I open skyfire. The most important part is that it can open all the websites I need.I really love the feeling of built in browser but how come it sucks that badly? I installed skyfire since 6/4, and I barely use it since I really prefer the default browser. But now I really hope google or HTC can fix and improve the performance of the browser.

View 3 Replies View RelatedSkyfire IS awesome. It plays videos that the regular browser doesn't play And they look awesome. I played a full COPS episode and 24 for about 20 minutes. Sadly, it started a House video, but cut off after about 5 minutes. But it shows promise...I'm still checking it out, watching a Bones show now. BTW, the videos I watched were on the 3G mobile network, not WI-FI. Hopefully it will hook up and work with my SUV entertainment system via TV out.
So far:
Most FOX TV shows play
CBS seems to be an infinite buffer/load screen
NBC shows play fine, watching "Office" right now.
Still exploring others
Overall, the browser itself is far superior to the stock browser, IMO. Pinch to zoom works, variety of settings, videos load in their own window. Pretty neat stuff.
I signed up to test out the Skyfire browser for android and was not chosen. Has anyone been accepted? If so, how is it? Can you post a video? Upload the apk?
View 1 Replies View RelatedNot sure if this has been asked before (didn't see a thread on it, anyway), but I uninstalled Android's default browser (Browser.apk) after reading from this post that it was safe, as long as another browser was installed.Afterward, Dolphin and Opera seem to work fine (although I hate Opera, but that's another story). Skyfire, however, just comes up to a black screen, and doesn't do anything else until I decide to exit.Is Skyfire just an overlay of features onto the stock browser, or could something else have disabled it?Also, is there a place/way I can re-download/re-install the stock browser? I mean, I guess I could re-flash my ROM, but that seems a bit excessive.

I am on bhmans take 5 so i removed it from system/app and wiped the data then attempted to install it and it wont even open it just force closes constantly.

View 13 Replies View RelatedAlright whats up people I was recently searching through and through for a way to get mobile internet without paying that ridiculous android price so as I was searching I stumbled across a regular behold forum at Samsung Behold Forum - New Proxy (TMobileX (Free Internet!)) - UPDATE: Analysis 01.07.10 -> 1500 Users because someone said free internet for it and I gave it a run to see if it would work with our behold 2 and surely enough it does.
Instructions on how to use proxy:
Open up the (default) browser on your Samsung Behold.
Type in the following address into the : tmo-x.co.cc/tmobilex/
Type in the address you want to visit in the form on the page and select whether or not you want to use my HTML trick (free; allows you to see sites in full HTML not 'WAP-stripped').
After many attempts to try and use the terminal emulator that is already preloaded onto the behold 2 , and many failures..After trying out different Terminal Em.'s and always having my phone lag because they wernt made for it...i have finally found a way to get terminal emulator working with no lag or no slow down in performance... First you must have root,of course, Next, Use an app called root explorer or something similar and goto the folder /system/app/ and find the two files Term.apk and Term.odex, and MOVE them to your sd card from your phone,you want them gone from your system/app folder After that simply goto the market and search for Terminal Emulator , re-download and there you have it, Working term. em. on the behold 2.Peace Ladz.

I was succesfully able to get adb to detect my phone serial. but whenever I type in: adb shell /data/local/try3 /system/bin/sh
in the CMD, it returns with "permission denied"

I have been trying to put it back on and all I ended up doing was bending it.I got my hands on an HTC Leo Windows mobile 6.5. Best implementation of an SD card slot ever.

View 9 Replies View RelatedG1 and my Behold 2 her phone had good reception and the behold had nearly none. Half the time I don't get phone calls. They go straight to VM. My roommate's BB pearl gets double the reception mine does. My other roommate's Nokia gets even better reception. All on the T-mo network. Another friend who has a G1 same thing, he has reception I don't. Not to mention the other problems I have had. This is my 3rd Behold II by the way. Been replaced twice and back to Samsung for 3 weeks once.
