I wonder if there are anyway that we could lock applications ? like i want when i open certain apps (for ex : message or video players... ) they will ask for a password in able to open the apps.

Newbie to the droid phones. On the Behold 2, is there a way to lock all the buttons but the "lock" button. When my phone is in my pocket, the screen seems to be always on because I guess the buttons must get hit when I'm walking. I just don't like wasting my battery.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have turned off the phone sound, turned off the shutter noise on the camera, but it still beeps (and quite loudly) on focus lock when using the camera. Shouldn't there be a way to turn off/deactivate/silence that beep?
View 4 Replies View RelatedDiscovered that the lock button on the side of the phone and the red end call button does not work...by themshelves! I have to push the home buttom and either one of the non-functioning buttons for it to work.
It's both a relief and pain to have figured this out. For the longest time, I thought the battery was horrid because when I would push the unlock button, the phone would not recognize it so the screen remains black making me think it off, out of battery. But then I noticed recently that the phone comes on when I hit the home button.
This is such a let down, you are never happy when your purchase breaks. Fortunitely I have the replacement insurance if it need be used. I was wondering if this is a known problem and can be fixed by me or if the phone need to be sent in for a replacement.
I am still trying to figure out how to disable the screen lock on my Samsung Behold 2.

Is there any difference between locking the screen (screen being off) and "sleep mode"? If there is, is there a way to force not to go into sleep mode, but have the screen off?

I do notice that it happens when my Bluetooth is on but the screen locks and won't allow me to depress the headset button and it doesn't respond to ANY button...Thus lost calls..
i recently edited the advanced launcher apk to theme the app drawer and a few other small things. the edits worked prefectly and i'm loving the new look except for one thing...the scrollbar in the app drawer! it is grey (of course) and i would like to change it to blue. i have looked and looked and can't find the file to change. is it even in the apk or does advanced laucher get the scrollbar from framework-res.apk?

I'm curious if it works because it synced so well to my work email, while the Galaxy stock email does not. I'm willing to try it out if anyone has the apk. I forgot to grab it before I flashed the rom and I don't want to have to re-flash to TouchWiz, grab it, and re-flash back to 1.6, especially if doesn't even work.
Also, if anyone's interested, here's a link to an Exchange email app that I got to work on the 1.6 rom, but it's not as feature rich. Exchange ActiveSync on your G1! | Nexeo.net. Pre-apologies if anyone has a problem with providing a system apk. But I did pay like $250 for this phone. Please just PM me then.
For some reason now, each time I manually lock the phone (button on side) and then unlock the SD card has apparently be disconnected during the locked time, because I get the notification that it is connecting when coming out of unlock. Of course with the issues the phone has with SD cards, this causes it to fail about 90% of the time.

View 3 Replies View RelatedOkay a weird this has been happening on my Behold II... After a power cycle one program disappears from the application drawer. The programs that have disappeared are Handcent, dolphin browser, Facebook, Live Bible, Evernote. Others could have but I have not noticed. When I go into "My downloads" in the market the program is still there but when I try to open it it fails to open. I have to uninstall then re-install the program. I only lose one program at a time though? This was happening last week so I did a factory reset and everything was fine until this morning. I have been running GDE home so the next step will be to remove GDE and see if it continues to happen. There have been a few other things happening as well the day after I reset the phone it would not boot up it just got stuck at the "android" screen I had to go into the recovery console and wipe it again to get it to boot up, also twice yesterday the phone just started vibrating continuously the screen would not turn so I had to remove the battery and restart the phone. I do not have the phone rooted.

I was told to try AppMonster, which has an option to Backup to SD. I do this and it says it's successful but my internal memory isn't going down. Does this just copy the files there as opposed to move them there? If so, is the another way/app to move the files?

For example, its common that someone wants to tinker with my phone because they have never seen it. I don't want the messing around in my messaging center, gmail, etc. But the general phone lock is not enough. I want to specify certain apps and functions that will require password or gesture. I found "ES Security manager - application protector" in the market. It worked okay for a day, now its buggy. When I go to a locked app and put in my password. Now it goes to the protector settings instead of the application. Also, it can easily be killed from a task manager app. I need a good solid app that will do this for me.

View 13 Replies View RelatedAlright whats up people I was recently searching through and through for a way to get mobile internet without paying that ridiculous android price so as I was searching I stumbled across a regular behold forum at Samsung Behold Forum - New Proxy (TMobileX (Free Internet!)) - UPDATE: Analysis 01.07.10 -> 1500 Users because someone said free internet for it and I gave it a run to see if it would work with our behold 2 and surely enough it does.
Instructions on how to use proxy:
Open up the (default) browser on your Samsung Behold.
Type in the following address into the : tmo-x.co.cc/tmobilex/
Type in the address you want to visit in the form on the page and select whether or not you want to use my HTML trick (free; allows you to see sites in full HTML not 'WAP-stripped').
After many attempts to try and use the terminal emulator that is already preloaded onto the behold 2 , and many failures..After trying out different Terminal Em.'s and always having my phone lag because they wernt made for it...i have finally found a way to get terminal emulator working with no lag or no slow down in performance... First you must have root,of course, Next, Use an app called root explorer or something similar and goto the folder /system/app/ and find the two files Term.apk and Term.odex, and MOVE them to your sd card from your phone,you want them gone from your system/app folder After that simply goto the market and search for Terminal Emulator , re-download and there you have it, Working term. em. on the behold 2.Peace Ladz.

So i would like to root it and run a factory1.6 no twiz rom on it, but I'm having issues while doing it!....
I was succesfully able to get adb to detect my phone serial. but whenever I type in: adb shell /data/local/try3 /system/bin/sh
in the CMD, it returns with "permission denied"
Does anyone know if you can use any multitouch because any app that says it has multitouch doesn't work

I have been trying to put it back on and all I ended up doing was bending it.I got my hands on an HTC Leo Windows mobile 6.5. Best implementation of an SD card slot ever.

Sprint release the 2.1 update for the Samsung Moment today. Here is the link to the update on Sprint's website. Will this update work for our Behold II? I'm willing to try to install it on mine (I'm currently running 1.6 no twiz). What do you think guys?
