Nov 8, 2009Coming from a Blackberry, I was able to create a "Group" and add people to that group so that I could send SMS Text messages to those in that group rather than having to add each one individually each time. I haven't found a way to do this on the new Droid. Is there some software/trick that I'm missing? I used this for work when multiple people need to get the same message at the same time.

Jul 9, 2010I've got a Galaxy S and am really pleased with the phone generally except the contact management is really frustrating. In particular I can't seem to sync my Google contacts groups. The contacts themselves sync ok but they are all grouped under Google in the groups dialogue. There doesn't seem to be any way for me to add them to groups I create on the device or to get the groups that are in my Google contacts to display. Annoyingly if I try to create a group on the device with the same name as a group in my Google contacts it tells me that a group of that name already exists even though it won't display that group on the phone.

Sep 11, 2010How come the groups tab of Contacts on this phone ignores your google groups completely? That makes the contacts pretty much useless to me. Jul 13, 2010This is for people who use GPS a lot. Before I would create groups just for my texting, but Navigation works great too. Took a wine trip to Santa Barbara. Had a few places (hotel, boat cruise, wineries, Santa Barbara Mission, some restaurants, that taco stand Julia Child made famous, etc.), and just created a contact for each. No inputting on phone or using voice, it's already done.Had concert @ Hollywood Bowl. They have shuttle service at some offsite locations like the LA Zoo or in Studio City. I just create a group called Concerts, and copy and paste address from website.Meeting friend at bar never been to? Already have a Group called Bars. Just copy and paste address, and your done.I have groups for everything. Family, San Francisco, San Diego friends, Hotels, Bars, sporting venues, whatever. I cross link whenever I can, Just hit People and slide over to Groups. The whole goal for me is just to hit buttons, and not have to input anything when I'm on run. Use it like AppBrain. So much easier to manage everything from Google contacts page. Just copy and paste eveything.Best part is, can delete or add anytime.Also saves me battery since doing stuff on computer, and everything is synced automatically.

I've been playing around with the App Organizer, and been putting things into folders. However, I am trying to do a few things.
Add shortcuts into the groups App Organizer creates, and/or create custom icons for Folders I put on the Home pages.
For example, I have 6 mail accounts (don't ask) and want to put them in a group called mail. Using AppOrganizer, I can only organizer the main mail icon into the group, I want to add the 5 other shortcuts I created for each account. OR I group them into a folder, but I want to change the folder icon to an envelope.
Also, anyone know any good apps that puts email notifications on the top taskbar?

Samsung Behold 2 :: Killed My Phone - Restore This Phone Back To Its Original State?
Apr 20, 2010I was trying to root my samsng behold 2 earlier today using the command codes on theunlockr.com. I thought everything was going well as I went all the way to the last step where it rebooted my behold 2. Problem is, the phone kinda just turned off after doing the reboot command and didn't turn back on by itself (I gave it like 10 minutes). I eventually then just turned on the phone manually and noticed that everything was super laggy. Even when I used taskkiller to kill every task minus GDE, it said I only had 38MB ram available. I rebooted my phone a few times and it was laggy everytime so I decided to do a hard reset. The problem is that when I attempted the hard-reset, it will now get stuck on the samsung screen when trying to load up (stayed there for over 30 minutes). I can still enter the phone if I just start it up regularly without trying to hard-reset, but it will continue to be VERY laggy.
Is there anything I can do to restore this phone back to its original state? I was reading about using ODIN to flash it or something, but for some reason my computer doesn't detect my phone when I go into Download mode on startup (it does however detect the usb drivers on my phone once the phone officially startsup into its homepage).

Jun 5, 2010Has anyone experienced any problems with your phones not receiving phone calls? I've had, on more than one occasion, where people are trying to call me and it doesn't go through. My phone never rings but the person told me that it rang 3 times and went to voicemail. Is that Galaxy build problem or is that a T-Mobile problem? If there isn't an easy fix, I'm gonna call Customer Care and see if I can get the phone swapped for something else...

First you must have root,of course, Next, Use an app called root explorer or something similar and goto the folder /system/app/ and find the two files Term.apk and Term.odex, and MOVE them to your sd card from your phone,you want them gone from your system/app folder After that simply goto the market and search for Terminal Emulator , re-download and there you have it, Working term. em. on the behold 2.Peace Ladz.

Jun 3, 2010i am running the r12 dont think that matters but. I forgot to plug my phone in last night. I had 30 percent battery so i plugged it into my car charger. it shut off and now wont turn on at all. I have pulled the battery about 50 times with no luck. I plugged it back into the car charger the wall charger and my computer still nothing. I tried to turn it on into the download mode my computer didnt notice it. I have pulled the sims card the sd card nothing. Just a black screen. I now put 2 and 2 together. this happend before about a month ago but then i pulled the battey and it came back on. Now if i get it back on I know better than do it again. Is there anything I can do? I am thinking about stopping at tmo tomorrow to see if they have a battery to try? Has this happened to anyone else if so what did you do?

Jun 22, 2010I installed the Superuser.apk or whatever, it rebooted and I disconnected the usb before typing the adbshell su and getting the # sound so now it says error device not found if I try that. Do I have to re-do everything or is it rooted? And my phone is acting normal by the way.

Jul 30, 2010I crashed it by messing around with one of the apps (I replaced an audio file then rebuilt and signed the app, and then the app crashed after it played the file), and the only way I could turn it off was to take out the battery.Now it won't start up again. It gets past the flashing Samsung animation, but then after that I just get a blank screen.The light behind the buttons stays on and I can't turn the phone off without taking out the battery.I've tried taking the SIM card out and pressing the volume down button, send button, then end button but the same thing happened.

May 18, 2010I use Windows Xp and the stock USB cable that came with the Behold 2. When I plug it in, nothing happens on the phone or the PC. Samsung says:
From any home screen, tap Quick List > Settings
Scroll down to and tap Phone Settings > USB Settings > Mass Storage > Save
Connect the data cable to the Behold II and a PC or laptop
When the Notification Bar indicates "USB Connected" tap, hold, and pull down
Tap USB Connected > Mount
On your PC, if prompted, allow USB drivers to be installed.
I never get the notification in the bar and windows does not see the device. I've also tried the Samsun Studio setting - no luck.
Phone is set to Mass Storage default.
16GB SD card installed.
I've tried it on two different computers both running XP; same story.
USB debugging is on.
I've installed the drivers in this forum and still nothing.
Sounds like a problem with the phone connection or the cable. Thoughts?
