I have BH Man 1.6 factory and my phone won't sleep anymore I read about some sleeping problem awhile ago and now I can't find it again could anyone help me get my phone to sleep!

I had pretty bad battery life today, took off the charger at 11:30, just plugged in at 15% 11 hours later, with a short charge in the car on the way to a late lunch. No text messages, no emails, no phone calls . I got a few apps off the market, did a little web surfing, & watched one 4 minute youtube video. This is my first Android phone, I had a HTC Touch Pro before this. BTW - The lack of comms today is because I'm not working right now, but in the middle of federal hiring process with the next appointment on the 13th, wish me luck. Bluetooth, GPS, and wifi are always off. Screen brightness is left at the lowest level. This is all shown with the Power Control widget on a home screen. I also have the Samsung Program Monitor widget on the same screen, and nothing stays running. Auto sync is always off, I rarely actually use gmail. The stock email app is set to check two other email accounts every hour.
I tried a little test, but just don't know what to make of it. I have Battery Monitor and Android Manager Free installed. Whenever I mention Task Manager, I accessed it through AMF. Before beginning, I removed the Weather Channel widget from the home screen and terminated the app in the Task Manager. I had installed a BBC news app today, but uninstalled before testing; it automatically updated a couple times today and showed up in Task Manager after I terminated it. I made sure Background Data was turned off, I generally only turn it back on when I launch the Market (gives a popup saying it needs it). I plugged the charger in with the phone at 26% charge, just for a minute to reset the last time unplugged. Using Battery Monitor (which apparently just shortcuts to the built-in Android battery monitoring screens found through Settings) I checked the status periodically, along with seeing what was active in Task Manager. Every 5 to 10 minutes I would press the power button to turn on the display, then check Battery history - Since last unplugged. I'd check the Task Manager, terminate Battery Monitor and AMF, then press the power button to turn the screen off............
Late for work due to my cell phone alarm not going off. I know its a sad excuse lol, I have a alarm clock. However somehow I manage to shut off my cell phone in my sleep or occasionally in my pocket. Is there a app to make it perhaps one extra step to shutting down the phone?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI took the plunge and finally rooted my phone (hand clap!!). I flashed a custom kernel (by NETARCHY[4.0.3a]). At 1st everything worked fine (followed EarlyMon's "How to Fix FROYO"---since i lost all my data). The following day i tried another kernel (baked kernel #5). That kernel didnt work to well on my phone so I reflashed NETARCHY's kernel. When i noticed that my battery was draining quickly, i looked in my SPARE PARTS and noticed that my phone is not sleeping---problem is I dont know what it is. Do i need to do a hard reset again---or should i flash another kernel?? Stuck between a rock and a hard place

I was trying to root my samsng behold 2 earlier today using the command codes on theunlockr.com. I thought everything was going well as I went all the way to the last step where it rebooted my behold 2. Problem is, the phone kinda just turned off after doing the reboot command and didn't turn back on by itself (I gave it like 10 minutes). I eventually then just turned on the phone manually and noticed that everything was super laggy. Even when I used taskkiller to kill every task minus GDE, it said I only had 38MB ram available. I rebooted my phone a few times and it was laggy everytime so I decided to do a hard reset. The problem is that when I attempted the hard-reset, it will now get stuck on the samsung screen when trying to load up (stayed there for over 30 minutes). I can still enter the phone if I just start it up regularly without trying to hard-reset, but it will continue to be VERY laggy.
Is there anything I can do to restore this phone back to its original state? I was reading about using ODIN to flash it or something, but for some reason my computer doesn't detect my phone when I go into Download mode on startup (it does however detect the usb drivers on my phone once the phone officially startsup into its homepage).
Which one is sleeping? I feel like my phone is not sleeping when i press the lock key... it says phone standby uses 27% power and phone idle is 4%

View 13 Replies View RelatedA few days ago I after reading some threads on reboots and decided to check the awake time and found that phone wasnt sleeping. Battery life wasnt affected all that bad I thought, lasting throughout the day, however I did an FDR reloaded only a few programs and the problem went away (along with the reboots that occurred nearly everytime I started navigator and only navigator). Battery life was exceptional afterwards, still having at least 60% remaining after unplugging around 8 am and checking later than 7pm
I reloaded the following apps
Shazam
xing barcode scanner
LED desire
Google Earth
Spare Parts, and just now sys panel lite.
Today I experienced another reboot, checked awake time and found it to be at 100% again. After unplugging at 8am and checking at 7 pm, battery remaining is at 36%, way under normal (im usually at 60%+ with heavier usage). Very moderate use today , maybe a dozen short calls, a couple emails, no browsing, took 1 picture and sms'd it, and LED desire (first time used since re-installed) I do keep both my wifi and BT on, 4g off. Ive been in good signal range all day.
Alright whats up people I was recently searching through and through for a way to get mobile internet without paying that ridiculous android price so as I was searching I stumbled across a regular behold forum at Samsung Behold Forum - New Proxy (TMobileX (Free Internet!)) - UPDATE: Analysis 01.07.10 -> 1500 Users because someone said free internet for it and I gave it a run to see if it would work with our behold 2 and surely enough it does.
Instructions on how to use proxy:
Open up the (default) browser on your Samsung Behold.

Type in the address you want to visit in the form on the page and select whether or not you want to use my HTML trick (free; allows you to see sites in full HTML not 'WAP-stripped').
Has anyone experienced any problems with your phones not receiving phone calls? I've had, on more than one occasion, where people are trying to call me and it doesn't go through. My phone never rings but the person told me that it rang 3 times and went to voicemail. Is that Galaxy build problem or is that a T-Mobile problem? If there isn't an easy fix, I'm gonna call Customer Care and see if I can get the phone swapped for something else...

According to Spare Parts my phone is spending nearly 86% of the time without sleeping (Nearly 10h out of the 11 1/2h since my phone was unplugged) I tried to find a possible app that was causing the problem but couldn't find anything unusual.

Prior to the update i was getting about 2 days usage out of the phone, its now struggling to last a day at times and by that i mean about 8-10 hours. I think there is an application or process that is stopping my phone from sleeping and i was wondering if you could help identify and then fix it if possible? Also, one of the things i have noticed is that my applications have started updating automatically...prior to 2.2 update I would get notified but could chose whether or not to download them...is there any way i can revert the phone back to the original state?

View 35 Replies View RelatedAfter many attempts to try and use the terminal emulator that is already preloaded onto the behold 2 , and many failures..After trying out different Terminal Em.'s and always having my phone lag because they wernt made for it...i have finally found a way to get terminal emulator working with no lag or no slow down in performance... First you must have root,of course, Next, Use an app called root explorer or something similar and goto the folder /system/app/ and find the two files Term.apk and Term.odex, and MOVE them to your sd card from your phone,you want them gone from your system/app folder After that simply goto the market and search for Terminal Emulator , re-download and there you have it, Working term. em. on the behold 2.Peace Ladz.

I was succesfully able to get adb to detect my phone serial. but whenever I type in: adb shell /data/local/try3 /system/bin/sh
in the CMD, it returns with "permission denied"
Is it possible to run ADB over a Bluetooth connection rather than over USB? I ask because I'm having some real issues getting my phone to connect by USB. I've asked about this here before and nothing seems to work, so, I'm looking for alternatives to USB.

I had 30 percent battery so i plugged it into my car charger. it shut off and now wont turn on at all. I have pulled the battery about 50 times with no luck. I plugged it back into the car charger the wall charger and my computer still nothing. I tried to turn it on into the download mode my computer didnt notice it. I have pulled the sims card the sd card nothing. Just a black screen. I now put 2 and 2 together. this happend before about a month ago but then i pulled the battey and it came back on. Now if i get it back on I know better than do it again. Is there anything I can do? I am thinking about stopping at tmo tomorrow to see if they have a battery to try? Has this happened to anyone else if so what did you do?

I installed the Superuser.apk or whatever, it rebooted and I disconnected the usb before typing the adbshell su and getting the # sound so now it says error device not found if I try that. Do I have to re-do everything or is it rooted? And my phone is acting normal by the way.

View 19 Replies View RelatedI crashed it by messing around with one of the apps (I replaced an audio file then rebuilt and signed the app, and then the app crashed after it played the file), and the only way I could turn it off was to take out the battery.Now it won't start up again. It gets past the flashing Samsung animation, but then after that I just get a blank screen.The light behind the buttons stays on and I can't turn the phone off without taking out the battery.I've tried taking the SIM card out and pressing the volume down button, send button, then end button but the same thing happened.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI use Windows Xp and the stock USB cable that came with the Behold 2. When I plug it in, nothing happens on the phone or the PC. Samsung says:
From any home screen, tap Quick List > Settings
Scroll down to and tap Phone Settings > USB Settings > Mass Storage > Save
Connect the data cable to the Behold II and a PC or laptop
When the Notification Bar indicates "USB Connected" tap, hold, and pull down
Tap USB Connected > Mount
On your PC, if prompted, allow USB drivers to be installed.
I never get the notification in the bar and windows does not see the device. I've also tried the Samsun Studio setting - no luck.
Phone is set to Mass Storage default.
16GB SD card installed.
I've tried it on two different computers both running XP; same story.
USB debugging is on.
I've installed the drivers in this forum and still nothing.
Sounds like a problem with the phone connection or the cable. Thoughts?
When XM is available for the android phones later this month, will be able to use it on our Behold II phone?I read where we might need 2.1 but I also read where we will never have 2.1 on this phone because it lacks enough memory. Is this true?Also, is there anyway I can figure out what OS version is on my phone? 1.6?
