May 24, 2010Having applied the update manually, is it possible to go back to 2.1 and see if that solves my connectivity issues? Can I just apply the last update?

HTC EVO 4G :: How To Manually Apply Froyo 2.2 - 3.26.651.3 - Update
Jul 30, 2010Want to upgrade manually yourself? Download the Android 2.2 firmware for the Evo to your PC. Place the file in the top level directory of your SD Card. (Do not unzip this file) Rename the downloaded file. (If your Windows is configured to show extensions, then rename it "update.zip" if you do not have extensions visible then rename it "update" NOTE: If downloading the file from the above link, it's already been renamed for you) If you don't have it already, download ASTRO File Manager from the Android Market. Connect your EVO to your PC and set the connection type to "Disk Drive" Copy over the downloaded file to the root of your EVO directory structure. Power down your Evo Reboot into Recovery Mode by Holding down the Volume Down button as you power the phone back on. The Boot Loader will appear, A screen should appear showing your phones system searching for various files. Scroll down to recovery and press the Power button. (The Volume Up/Down buttons navigate the menu, and the Power Button selects the selection.) When you see the triangle with an exclamation point symbol, press the Power and Volume Up buttons at the same time. (and wait for 10-15 seconds), The recovery should eventually come up. Select Bootloader Scroll down to Recovery and select it The phone will reboot again, this time into Recovery. From the menu that appears, select Apply sdcard:update.zip. or "install from zip" (depending on your recovery image) When the screen displays �Install from sdcard complete select reboot system now and wait for the phone to power back up.
Wait a while.. the phone will reboot repeatedly and finally install the update with the new apps. (The installation can take up to 15-20 minutes)

(2) Use z4root app from market
(3) Use SuperOneClick for PC
(4) Use OneClickLagFix app

If you read through that page there is a guy on there who is talking to someone at Clove Technology who is supposedly talking to someone from Samsung. What they are saying is that the fixes will be bundled with Froyo and hoping for an end of September update.

Aug 5, 2010My brother received the update this morning, but I never received, and neither did my friend. I am wondering, will this be fixed these days? or does this mean I have to apply manually? I am not a professional at that type of thing, I am not too familiar with smart phones, so I am worried if I apply it manually I would screw something up.

Aug 8, 2009I just rooted (minutes ago) and I would like to put a hero rom on my rogers htc magic(32a). I was going to use fatal1ty's rom from here. Rogers Rom Repository (Check Here for the Latest Rogers/32A Ports) - xda-developers is this the best one to use? I'm a little confused about how to do it now. do I need a new radio or anything? In his instructions it says "Rename it in update.zip copy to sd reboot (pressing home+power)

shouldn't I go into fastboot and then type "fastboot boot recovery.img" just like I did when I was rooting and then click "apply sdcard: update.zip"? why would this be different? Pressing home+power didn't even seem to do anything different. Perhaps I didn't hold home long enough..

Sep 22, 20101. I've been reading posts for an hour now and can't find a direct answer. Or maybe there is one and I'm missing it due to my lack of rooting knowledge. I am using velocity .2 and clockwork mod recovery. I am getting a system update notification, Update now/Later, etc. What do I do? I am reading some of the posts and some seem like they pertain to it. Since Im rooter and on velocity.
2. Can I update? Do I have to go to the stock LG rom in rom manager and apply that first?
Do I have to do a factory reset? Am I supposed to lose root. Some help on how to apply the update with velocity .2 and clockword mod recovery tutorial to apply the update without bricking phone please.
LG Ally : ZVB Not Apply Correctly / Pull Info On Update From Downloaded File?

Ok from Velocity 0.2 with Clockworkmod and V9 SW version I flashed the stock V6 Rom, then flashed stock recovery. got ota updates to V8 and then ZVB without any errors. SW Version on phone read VS740ZVB. I then rerouted, applied Clockworkmod recovery and installed Velocity 0.2 and then the GNMTurbo4 kernel. SW Version on phone reads VS740ZVB. Then another OTA update showed up. It claimed to be 24.9MB just like the ZVB update. Of course it would not install because I was using custom recovery.
My question is, what is this update? Is it the ZVB update coming through again? Did my ZVB update not apply correctly or is it not recognized by Verizon since I'm using custom recovery and rom? Is there a new update that I'm missing out on, and if so, what is it, and do I need to apply it?
Lots of questions, I know.Just wondering what exactly is going on and do I need to do anything about it? Is there any way to pull info on this update from the downloaded file, and if so, where can I find the file and how do I get info from it?
General :: Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean - Unable To Apply Update From SD Card?
Oct 22, 2013I have a samsung galaxy young s6312, stock android 4.1.2 jellybean, rooted, stock recovery. Now I have been wanting to install cwm recovery on my device since a long long time, and rom manager isn't compatible with my device. I finally found a cwm.zip file for my device somewhere. The site told me to flash it via stock recovery, by the apply update from sdcard option. So I went into recovery, and when I click on apply update from sdcard option, I see only ../ I don't see a list of files on my external sd card. I tried formatting my sdcard, tried reinserting it, nothing worked.

I searched about nexus since it is similar and saw a few things about the app LOCKBOT, i recommend you atleast try the free version and see, it gives you unlock with the trackpad button and the ability to do custom lockscreen with different styles like Iphone, and different android locks. THis was one grip i didnt like about sense. Stock Android has the ability to swipe to unlock or swipe the other way to mute sounds, which is a nice feature, although i prefer my iphones switch the best
The bad...Ive read stuff about it crashing and being laggy, now i havnt experiended this on the INC, it runs super smooth. But i have been having a few times where the front button will not unlock the phone, maybe an update will fix this or something, but its worth a shot to look at.

If i do a wipe of the device when I restart i get the over the air update to 2.2. It downloads and verifies but when i restart i go to the boot loader? screen? and I get an install failed message.

KitKat 4.4 :: Nexus 4 - Reverting Back To 4.3?
Dec 2, 2013Some issues are correctable through doing a factory wipe. Other issues can be corrected through reloading the image from Google's own factory image repository. However, some things (in particular the battery drain issue) seems to be an issue within 4.4 itself, and the only solution I've found has been to revert from 4.4 to 4.3.
So I'm posting this thread and asking the more knowledgeable users here on AndroidForums to post clear, concise directions for acquiring and flashing these devices back to the Google "factory image".
The reason I'm asking for the community to pitch in is that the instructions I've seen are kind of scattered, are not necessarily up to date, and they can and do vary depending on whether you're doing this with Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 8, or with Mac OS X, or with Linux.
I was able to re-flash my Nexus 4 in Lion back to 4.3, but I had to do editing of bash shell scripts and even then had to issue the execution of the appropriate shell script from the exact right spot or else it couldn't find the command, or couldn't execute the command. The directions on Google's site were incomplete, and the ones I found on various message boards seemed more like an author's "best guess" than authoritative "you can trust that this will work" workflows.

Nov 11, 2012When I first bought it, I was not happy with the features it was offering so I searched and found out about the CM7(Cyanogenmod 7) mod, and decided that I wanted to try out a modded phone. I've been using CM7 for a few years now and have just plain become unhappy with what they're putting out and decided that I finally wanted my phone back to being normal and rooted. I booted into my clockworkmod(after backing up all apps/data with TitaniumBackup pro & taking pics/vids/etc off through USB) and decided to wipe my sdcard and all other options that Clockworkmod offers. After doing that I realized I made a horrible mistake...every time I go to reboot my phone, it ends up back at the boot menu and at the top it says "Fastboot Mode - No boot or recovery IMG" how would I go about resetting my phone back to a normal OS without being able to transfer stuff onto it without it being booted and having a USB option.

Nexus :: Case Not Line Up From Back - Small Visible Space
May 8, 2010Well I just received my Nexus One on Wednesday. In the last 24 hours I have noticed an odd issue that the case doesn't seem to line up on the back under the metal strip. Its where the plastic and the strip come together on part that has the HTC logo, they don't line up and there seems to be a small visible space. Its more prevalent on the left and there also seems to be some degree of flex on the left side. So I just wanted some input if this seems normal or ok. Should I be calling HTC and attempting to get it replaced?
