I'm a new Nexus One user, when I want to shut off the phone I have to use the back button to go through everything I've done for the phone to return to the home screen, if I don't the next time I turn it on, it will go to the last used screen. Is there a way to quickly get back to the home screen and deleting the others?

View 12 Replies View RelatedI had to delete all of my HTC SenseUI home screen customizations (wallpaper and icons) today. I accidentally caused the problem myself, though I think Sense could have been more clever about stopping me. What happened was that I saw a new notification "Ringtone App downloaded." I had not downloaded it, and my son had just been playing with the phone, so I figured he must have done it. I deleted the application, and the phone warned me that it would "reset my icon on the home screen" or something like that. I blithely said OK and deleted the thing. Then, when I went back to the home screen I got the message "The Application HTC Sense (process com.htc.launcher) has stopped unexpectedly." The only option available was "Force Close," and soon as that was pressed the message would appear again.
I was able to get out of it by following the instructions at this HTC Desire page . Now my phone is fine again, but I need to repopulate my 7 home screens.
Two questions:
(1) Why did the Notifications bar tell me this app had been downloaded? My son later said he had not done so. Could it have been an automatic update by HTC?
(2) Am I now missing some sort of Android or HTC ringtone app? I don't normally use ringtones other than the built-in ones but it would be nice to know whether I deleted a standard-issue app and how to get it back if desired.
I have an HTC Desire and one of the seven home screens is the Favorites screen,I have added a number of contacts to this but am struggling to find a way to delete a contact from it.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhenever I am using any app and press the home button, the home screen blacks out for a few secs and it takes around 10 sec to get all the icons back and before I can start using my phone again. I am using a non rooted mytouch 3g.
This problem does not happen if I exit an app by pressing the back button. It becomes very annoying at times.

When i fire up my youtube app, i get a quick black screen flash and it goes back to home screen. The app doesnt launch at all. It was working just fine for several months, all of a sudden it started doing this.

Is this normal? Did I accidental do it in the settings? HELP its driving me crazy

I don't know if I'm missing something in the settings or what, but every time I shake my Eris while running an app the screen automatically goes back th the home screen. This gets really annoying when using apps that require such actions. Anyone else having this issue or know what I'm doing wrong. Maybe an app that's causing it.

I've been using facebook home on my Nexus One since Friday evening and I actually really like it as a lock screen, but I lament every time I hit the home button and don't go back to the default launcher.
Can modify the facebook home apk so that the lock screen is still facebook home, but so that when swiping up to hit the 'Apps' bobble or hitting the home button, you get taken to the normal launcher. Can it be done?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have 4 subscriptions in the news app and the widget on the home screen. The problem is, read news keeps refreshing on the app after i've read and deleted it. If I read all the news, then delete them all so that it's empty, the widget will "load news" and everything will come back. Is this the way it's supposed to work? I thought only unread articles were supposed to sync but mine just keeps loading all the same crap again, as well as new stuff too.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have had a look around this site but can't seem to find anyone else having the same problem as me.I downloaded an application that changed the unlock screen to the same as the iPhone.For some reason this changed my home-screen was well as my unlock screen.My HTC Hero had the same home screen as this:

The long bar across the bottom with call etc has disappeared and changed to one square box. I have uninstalled the application but there is nothing to change it back. Can anyone help?
Okay I hope this is a simple question to ask - just got my HTC hero phone today and earlier I accidentally deleted my Favorites Log so its not displayed on home screen. I can still add/remove contacts to and from my favorites but I don't know how to get favorites log back on home screen. Any ideas?

View 2 Replies View RelatedAll of a sudden my girlfriend's Nexus One is rebooting somehow. She fires up her phone, it boots just fine, after a few seconds when everything is loaded, u can scroll thru the menus etc, it seems to reboot, but real fast, the animation comes up, and 2sec later the home screen is visible again. It keeps doing this.
Any ideas? The phone is not rooted, no custom rom, just a few regular apps form the market installed, nothing fancy.

This is referring to the homescreen and the default home is what the defualt android home screen looks like and HTC sence is what i need. I clicked on the Defualt home and now my home screen looks different. How do i get that option to pop up again so I can choose HTC sence?
I was wondering if anyone has a cure for this. The phone is rooted and on Villain 5.x. I've recently started using the camera and noticed that it will abruptly close on me - no force close message or anything - just back to the Home screen. A reboot seems to fix it for a few snaps, then the same again.

So if I browse my settings, and go 4 screens in. I want the back button to bring me to screen 3 (like it used to), and not to the home screen.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI don't know how I did it, but on my home screen, originally I saw this:with the phone on the left, 2nd home screen to get to all the apps, and the contacts button to the right with the 5-7 screens.somehow I got it on some "Linux" mode where when I press anywhere on the screen, it will shrink to three small windows, two of which are empty and 1 of the windows only displays the following icons: Droid Market, Browser, and Maps along with a dock at the bottom. I want to go back to the way it was beforehand. Does anyone know how to fix this?
