Today I noticed that I received notifications that I have apps with updates available. When I click on the notification it takes me to my downloads in the Marketplace, but it doesn't show me which app has an update. They all just say Installed.
Is there no way to tell what application needs updating?

View 6 Replies View RelatedIs there any way to detect whether the Notification Windows is being shown? I have a service that updates an ongoing notification, complete with a progress bar and text? Is there a way to know if the notifiication screen is actually being shown, so I can adjust how often I wouldn't be so concerned if not for the fact that the HTC Incredible will reboot after it receives several hundred or so updates. Based on a controlled experiment with a beta tester, the service could continue for 24 hours if it did not update progress, but dies after several hundred updates. So I am desperate to reduce the notifications, if that's what works, and one of the ways I could do that is by not updating as much or at all if that screen isn't being shown.

View 2 Replies View RelatedLast night I did the check updates *#*#2432546#*#* and to my surprise a few minutes later a system update appeared. I was elated and accepted the download and restart. I am still waiting... I have the explanation mark and the little android guy on the front of the screen, but no restart. What do I do next? I am in a slightly weak area, but normally can get 3G and decent downloads. So now I am unsure how to proceed. Was the restart suppose to be automatic? That is what I was led to believe.
View 26 Replies View RelatedI got the message on my phone that there is an update. I tried installing it but it wouldn't let me. I tried the manual way and everytime it goes to install it tells me installation aborted. Any ideas?
I should also mention that when I click recovery after hitting power+volume down it goes to an android guy with an exclamation point.
I recently upgraded to a 16G SD card in my N1. I backed up the entire contents of my old 4g card and put them on the new card. Ever since, I have not been able to update any apps that have ever resided on my SD card, even if they are now located on the phone. In an effort to resolve this, I uninstalled the afflicted apps, and now I cannot even download them again! I simply get "installation unsuccessful." Anyone have a fix for this? Got a long road trip coming up and I'd really like the use of some of these apps!

View 7 Replies View RelatedSo I got my N1 today and installed apps w/ no problem. After I manually updated to 2.2, whenever I try and download an app it says "Sorry, there's not enough space to install this item." If I go to settings, SD Card & phone storage settings, it says I have 158MB available space under Internal phone storage. So I have plenty of room to install things, what's the deal?
View 4 Replies View RelatedSince the recent update I have been unable to pick up a 3G signal.
The Nexus used to show a 3G symbol but now all I get is either a G or E.
I am now in the middle of Manchester when I used to pick up a 3G signal and all I can pick up is Edge.
Has anyone else experienced this or know how this can be solved?
What does G mean if its not 3G, could it be 2G? Whatever that is...
I had original nexus one with ERE27. I manually updated that phone with "signed-passion-FRF50-from-ERE27.1e519a24.zip" this file. No for some reason I want to revert back. Can you pleas. help me how can I do that?

what do i need to do to get froyo?
My nexus one now has multitouch but along with that came unwanted side effects. The device is slower and choppier than ever before. FYI, I used the manual update method using the file directly from google's site.
-screen touch calibration is constantly off
-slower overall performance
-increase latency of loading of pages in browser
-sometimes notification of text messages are delayed until unlocking.

I have a Nexus One with Android 2.1 -update1 Build # EPF21B. I am using this in India. I need to find out a couple of things :
1. How do I find out if my N1 is rooted or not.
2. Whether my N1 qualifies for a Android 2.2 update ?
- If no, how do I make it qualify ?
- If yes, when do I get the update ?
So i did the update to froyo went smoothly however no data. phone works but can't get on internet or setup gmail. went back to cyanogen and still no data now.
View 20 Replies View RelatedMy phone hasn't been able to locate a GPS signal when using Google Navigation/Maps for about the past five days. I only really noticed this problem last Thursday... which seems about the same time I received the latest update. The timing would indicate the two are related?
The GPS is turned on, and the satellite icon displays on the toolbar. The phone displays "Searching for GPS" at the bottom. I'm running Locale, and it continues to recognize conditions based on location data... so it would seem the GPS is still working for that, at least.
I have a weird problem with my Nexus 1. I rooted it when I got it (some months ago), so I don't really remember all the details about how I did it, was probably some cyanogen mod thing. However back then I remember having a small issue with the "system update available" message that displays in the notification bar, when an update is available. The problem was that the message kept appearing even though the 2.2 update was successfully installed. The problem seemed to disappear at some point, but now it is back, and worse. I cannot turn on or wake up my phone without getting the annoying message in my face.
I did try to follow the instructions in the message and actually install the update and reboot (even though the phone is running 2.2), however it didn't help. So right now I am pressing the "install later" option every time I want to use the phone. Also, I found out that I can root the phone with the program Universal Androot, so I guess the solution would be to somehow unroot using the old method (that I have forgotten) and then just use the Universal Androot program whenever I want to do something that requires root. Now the reason I write all this is that I am a bit scared of bricking the thing (even though i hear it should be next to impossible).
About phone:
Nexus One
Android 2.2
Baseband version: 32.36.00.28U_4.06.00.12_7
Kernel version: 2.6.32.9-27220-g328f560 android-build@apa26 #1
Build number: FRF50
I recently got the Nexus One Update which provides amongst other things - pinch gestures.
One other unlucky surprise I got is that the app I am writing behaves differently. When I call finish() my activity's onDestroy() should be getting called. On 1.5, 1.6, 2.0 and 2.1 (before the nexus update) this works fine, but on 2.1 with the Nexus One it just doesn't call onDestroy. I have a button on one of the activity pages that when you click it, it is supposed to "finish" the activity and I verified it's calling finish(), but onDestroy() never gets called.
Yesterday I received an OTA with 2.2.1. After unpacking and installing the update my phone rebooted as normal. When booting the Nexus-logo appears, but afterwards the display remains black. There are indications that the phone boots up as normal, as I can hear the sounds (ex emergency-call) when pressing the display. The display works perfect in boot-menu (rescue etc)
I've tried to do a factory reset and pulled out the battery several times to try to reset - all with no luck.
In addition I've placed an update.zip on the sd-card in order to perform a new manual update, but after choosing recovery, my phone restarts and the screen turns black. Any idea how to solve this?
I still haven't got Google maps 7.0.1 update for my nexus 4... All my friends who r using nexus 4 & note 2 have got the update...
