I just installed Pandora and there was screen that said... "Warning Pandora Uses a lot of Data". So I was wondering... If I am using it wirelessly at home will it be using my data plan or not?

View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen I play one of the stock ringtones (which, by the way, suck) or stream radio stations, music plays fine. However, I would like to be able to download music to my phone either from my computer or from an app, but every time I try either of those, I hear a popping/dripping noise in the background. It happens both when I preview the song/sound and when I download it, and it doesn't matter where I download them from. I've tried websites, my computer, apps, etc. So frustrating!
It sounds like it may be a problem with the speakers, like maybe they are having trouble playing certain file types or something, but I haven't the slightes idea why this is. That's just a hunch, though. I know nothing about how phones work. Anyone know what might be going on? By the way, I don't know if this affects anything, but my phone is rooted now. The popping/dripping began way before I rooted it, though. Just throwing that out there.
Wondering is there is a fix yet for the poor audio quality through pandora? Sounded much better before 2.2. The only "fix" I have seen drastically slows down performance.
Yes, I did turn on the higher quality sound in the Pandora settings.
I just bought the car doc and was playing with the GPS while listening to Pandora. Every time the GPS plays an audio instruction to make a turn, Pandora shuts off. Same goes when I do a speech to text with Pandora running. Anyone else see this?

I tried this a few times and when I do, I end up having the music play in my headset while i am still in a call or it will stop playing music while I am in a call and bring it back after my call is over.

I have the N1's dock connected to a pair of M-AUDIO AV-20 speakers and the sound quality is less than enjoyable. The question is, does the phone get connect to the dock through bluetooth? I would expect a much better audio quality from ANY Dock.

It was hit and miss, sometimes playing fine, sometimes not even connecting for 5 minutes. I may have found the problem, i was having some cutting and out issues tonight and i disabled wifi and it immediatly played silky smooth. I then turned on wifi and it started to cut in and out immediatly. This leads me to believe the wifi radio is causing problems streaming music via bluetooth but wanted to find out if anyone else had similar issues and what they do. I just came from using an iphone 3gs and never had these issues, it always played smooth. I have no problems disabling wifi when in my truck but want to get other opinions.

Can I get access to each beacon the wifi interface receives at its raw state? Can I listen to beacons on android and process them as byte[]?
In my ideal little dream world, I'd like to have a custom service running that handles network comms. Activities (e.g. UIs) then add listeners to it and it provides callbacks when anything interesting happens.
As it stands, I can't see how to do this in an appropriate way. OK, you can call bindService() and have a ServiceConnection implementation that monitors the service state. From there you can easily talk *to* the service whenever you desire, using serialisation over transactions, but I don't think that helps with communication initiated by the service.
The only way I know of doing what I want is by maintaining static collections of listeners on the service class, which doesn't strike me as good engineering.
My telephone provider emails me .wav files that contain my phone messages. I can't read these in android. Does anyone know of an application that can read them.

I listen to MP3's with headphones quite often while @ the golf range about 2-3 times a week. I just plug in a random non OEM 3.5 MM earbud headphones (like the white apple one lol ), but sometimes more often than not the eris goes buggy and starts fast forwarding through songs / skipping songs / playing at a faster rate. It seems to this when you press or slightly wiggle the 3.5 MM jack on top, so when it's in my pocket i 'accidently' hit it sometimes. Now i dont know if touching the jack is why it's doing this but that is just theory/conclusion. Does anyone get this problem (people who use headphones while playing sports or having the phone in their pockets?) and/or does anyone know why it happens or how to fix it?
- Another question i have is an accessory question but ill go ahead and ask it here to kill two birds with one stone. Can anyone suggest a good OEM earbud headphone for the Eris? I saw some that aren't actualy 3.5 MM jacks but plug into the Mini-USB port on the bottom, I wonder what kind of headphones came with some people's eris'.

I don't think my thumb has grown any bigger since the update so I'm wondering if this is happening to anyone else.For example if I wanted to type " Hey how's it going?" it will often come up like "Hey. How's. It. Going?" and I then have to try and retype it properly.Is it possible that the "." button programming is overlapping into the right side of the space bar?
