Just wanna know how the apps where you hold your phone up to some music that is playing and it tells you the artist and song and all that jazz, which of these apps work on the Evo? Oct heard some are pretty buggy on some phones so I wanna know which one to get

View 42 Replies View RelatedI've got an annoying issue when listening to music on my Droid. During any song, any album, at any time, the music will skip. Like the old CD players did when they were jiggled around, etc. I've tried it in every situation possible. It skips in every music app, any headphone or AUX cable, wether its being charged OR not. I thought it may be happening due to network things like receiving a text, or when Google syncs, but I don't think that's it. One of the reasons I got the Droid was for it to replace my iPod, but I can't even listen to music! This happened before 2.1, after, and even when I was ROM'd and rooted.

I have the Samsung epic and downloaded music to listen to with my headphones. While listening to music, I tested calling my phone and the music changed and began playing my music ringtone. I also noticed that my "ringtone" was playing outloud also. Here is my question.... is there a better setting I can set so that my phone doesn't play my ringtone out loud when I am listening with my headphones. With how it is currently set, I can see it disturbing other people around my while in a coffee shop, the gym, etc. Thanks for any help!

View 8 Replies View RelatedWhilst listening to music via the headphone socket to my stereo i got a call but the music went quiet for a couple of seconds then carried on playing when id finished what i was doing i looked and id missed a call.
Is there a setting that will ring for a call and also alert you of a text when listening to music at all ? (stock music player btw).
So I was cycling home from work listening to some music on my Desire through the headphones via Meridian music player. During the trip home the music muted for 10 seconds or so and then re-started. I checked the phone and noticed that I had a missed call. My phone was set to vibrate only. I didn't feel it vibrate in my pocket whilst cycling. When I've listened to music before I've always heard some notification through the headphones when a call, text or email has come through but I can't be sure that the phone was on vibrate on these occasions.
Can anyone confirm that when using the headphones with the phone on vibrate you will not get an audible notification when a call, text or email comes through? If this is the case its a bit annoying because if its an email I am happy to wait till I get home but if its a call I want to take it straight away. With no audible notification you have no way of knowing whats come through.
Hey guys do any of you notice a hiss while listening to music/podcasts through bluetooth stereo headphones? I have tried a couple different headsets and all of them have a very noticeable hiss coming through.

1. how is the phone generally?
2. how is the battery cuz in every site is different info
3. how is the loud speaker for talking not music listening
4. and in generally is it worth it or maybe to think to upgrade to desire?

I have two sources of audio: the music player and Doggcatcher for podcasts. Whenever I listen to a track in the music player and then stop listening, it remembers and keeps it "ready". Then I go and listen to a podcast and, again, the last thing played remains ready to play at any point. So, here is the problem. When I go to listen to music, I can get into the music player and hit play, no problem. But, the first time I use the inline remote to pause and then play, that "play" command turns on the podcast player as well and BOTH start playing, music and podcast.
Oddly, when I am just in Doggcatcher and play a podcast, the inline remote will not automatically start the music player. Is there a way to make sure Doggcatcher will not start when I want to listen to the music player? I suppose I could load up Google Listen and see what would happen with that program instead.
Is it possible to play music in my car via the headphone jack( i have a line in for mp3 players on my stereo) and have the blue tooth for calls running simultaneously. I tried this a few times and when I do, I end up having the music play in my headset while i am still in a call or it will stop playing music while I am in a call and bring it back after my call is over.

After listening I've plugged headset out and now while I call to somebody I see there is a call on the device screen, but either me, either person whom I am calling to, doesn't hear the other person. While I plug headset again I can hear everything (on the headset), after another plug out problem still exist.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently bought a Back Beat stereo bluetooth headset for my HERO. After listening for a few days I got a warning stating that my internal memory was getting low. Soon after that, I could not receive text anymore. I did a hard reset on the phone and the memory was restored, but this is the only way I could get the memory to come back. Is there any way to restore the internal memory without doing a hard reset and loosing everything?

I downloaded the Advanced App Killer to close that when I'm done listening to songs. I like having the widget, but maybe there's another app out there (with a widget) that can be used in place of the preloaded one, that will actually STOP, instead of just pause?
Pandora does it too, but I think there is a setting that shuts it off after a certain amount of time being paused...

Of the apps I've downloaded, only a few of them have worked. Of those few that work, some don't work right. Has anyone had problems with these apps crashing on them, or just not working correctly?
- Nice Battery (see description at bottom of: My Ultimate CLIQ settings (so far))
- WeatherBug (kept showing the wrong location, crashed when trying to change location)
- Snake - doesn't work just says its "paused"
- RingDroid - crashes when I select the "Facebook Pop" button
- Layar - screen is rotated 90 degrees at all times
There have been others, but usually I just uninstall them right after discovering it doesn't work right.
I listen to a large number of podcasts weekly. I use to download them to my computer and then transfer them to a folder on my Moto Droid called PODCASTS. This folder would show up under PLAYLISTS in the native android music player. This makes it very easy to listen to one podcast after the other. The HTC music player does not work this way. I drop a bunch of podcasts into a PODCAST folder and they are scattered throughout the music app. Has anyone found a way to put files directly in a playlist when accessing the device as a drive?

View 13 Replies View RelatedBefore the Froyo update, whenever I wanted to stop playing mixzing or pandora, I used Advance Task Killer and it would stop playing. Now, after froyo, I have to go to the song, hit pause, hit the home button and that would stop the program.
View 2 Replies View Relatedi was one of the first batch evo owners ( proud owner as of 6.4.10) however over the last few days i have had a few weird errors pop up. The first one was with the FM radio, it simply wont work right for long period of time. I would play the radio and the icon would show up on the notification bar, then the phone would go into idle, however after about 10 mins of idle if i wake the phone to try and change the station or lower the volume, the icon for the FM radio dissapears from the notification bar although the radio is still playing. At this point i am not able to lower the music and upon opening the FM radio app, the playback stops and the app loads but fails to complete stalling at the last 10%.
The 2nd thing is the music player. I have about 160 songs on my evo's 8gb micro SD card. I have also installed the Update sprint/ HTC released on launch day to combact the SD card issues. The 3rd day of me having my evo i was on my way home from work and decided to listen to some music via my headphones. as i was playing the music in the background, an incoming IM from aim sounded over the music and it suddenly stopped. when i checked the music player, it still showed as playing the music although nothing was coming out of the headphones. i tried unplugging them and no go, i tried raising and lowering it but no go, i even tried killing the music player app via an app killer ( advanced settings > Show core Apps) and still it wouldnt work. I was curious so i tried pandoras radio to see if it wss just the Media player and pandoras radio would not play any sound either through the speaker nor the headphones. only after shutting down and restarting the phone did the problem go away.
Today heading home from work, i decided to listen to music once more and the SAME thing happened twice... this time the Evo would finish playing one song and that would be it, the following song would not be heard through the headphones nor the speaker. IT didnt happened back to back after every song but it happened twice within a 45 min train ride to work. the first time it happened after 30 min of starting music playback and the 2nd time it happened right after finished restarting and playing one song.. i tried all the steps i tried the first time and nothing worked. ( except for restarting the phone). even pandoras radio didnt work either. It would finish playing one song and blank..nothing else would come out, although i tried a phone call and i could still hear audio through the headphones. Im not sure whats going on. i hope this is a software issue and not hardware related..
I've recently found PowerAmp and started using this as my only music player. However, when I enter Car Dock the music button links to the stock music player. How do I / can I change this default so that PowerAmp starts when I press the music button or any of the music controls once I enter the music player in the Car Dock? I've tried other players (Mixzing, Music Mod) and all have the same issue. I also haven't found a substitute Car Dock that I like, so I'd like to keep using the stock one until an update to it comes out.
