how to disable the low battery alert audio? I have disabled the popup, but I would like to also disable the audio. I tried deleting the lowbattery.ogg file in the root media file, but then it just played a different audio file for the low battery. I am on a rooted Nexus 5 running 4.4.2

Is there any way to disable the low battery alert sound? I hate it when I'm doing something and it goes buh-bup in my ear. It always startles me when listening to music.. fn annoying!!
View 33 Replies View RelatedI own a Nexus One running Froyo. I can just not rely on its battery status. The battery rapidly discharges when I use the phone, but then increases by some amount if I keep it in my pocket.
I have had a lot of instances when I have stopped using my phone when the battery level falls below 30%(battery color from green to yellow), only to find it green when I use it again.
I have rooted my phone, allowed the battery to die, reset its stats, but in vain.
I recently did a factory reset and flashed stock Android 2.3.6 back onto my Nexus S. Ever since I did that I have been getting an alert show up on my screen whenever my data connection is lost or restored. This is really annoying since I'm using JuiceDefender and my data is turned off everytime I put my phone display to sleep and it is restored once I unlock my phone.
The message pops up in the middle of the screen in a grey box that says "The connection to the Internet has been restored."
I never had this on stock Android before or on Cyanogenmod 7, any way to turn off the alerts? Is this a new built in feature to 2.3.6?
I tried searching bu found nothing relating to this. Anyone know how to disable "low battery" pop-up when your battery level reaches 15%? I really hate the annoying sound too. Maybe I can at least disable the sound, and I don't mean just lowering the volume.

Deleting audio files on my nexus 7. I recently used isyncr to download my itunes library onto my nexus 7. I put some of the songs I didnt like on there by mistake and I want to delete it but i cant find a way how to do so. I went on settings and on storage and click audio files but when i clicked on them it just played them. Have looked through various threads to try and find the answer and subsequently tried different USB ports, different cables etc but still comes up with the "found new hardware" wizard when plugged in. The cable and phone work when plugged into my laptop running Windows 7 so guess the problem must be with the desktop setup. The phone does charge when plugged into the desktop but the device is not recognised and I therefore do not have the option to explore.

I get little to no reception at my house and thus the phone is always beeping that it has lost reception, then gained it then lost it again - it drives me crazy. Usually I have to resort to muting the phone altogether but then I forget to unmute in the morning when I leave the house. I called Samsung and they said to try to turn off the emergency call option saying it was some workaround. It was already off on my phone and didn't help. I've looked all over the sounds etc. settings to no avail?

View 1 Replies View RelatedSometimes (it's not usual, but sometimes it happens) my phone (Nexus one, CM7) runs quite slowly, and not fluent at all, just because of an app that is eating all the memory / processor. If I kill that app, problem solved.
When this happened the first time, I went to the running services section in settings, and I checked that the services listed are not ALL the running processes, so even if I kill all the services there, there are still running apps. Then, I tried to install several app killers, just to check if they kill all the running apps, but not only they don't list all the running apps, but also when killing all, there are still apps that keep running (like some games), and the only way I found to find them is checking one by one in the apps list, if they are running or not.
Is there any app to check at once ALL the running apps? I have looked for it, but all I have found are apps to do exercise ("running apps", D'oh!), and stuff like that?

Reason: I cracked my screen from the bottom left of the screen to just shy of the top right corner. The lower section, below the crack, is not responsive to touch... and the dots I need (I use the pattern pass) are on this side because I can't flip the tablet.
How This Happened: I turned on rotation lock with the tablet upside down to keep it there... But then my Nexus 7 decided to restart randomly and keep rotation-lock on but coming back in the default orientation, aka the wrong way that I need it to be.
I'm wondering if I'm not alone in this: I have a rooted Evo 4G LTE running Jelly Bean/Paranoid Android 2.13. I'm running into an issue with running audio apps like Google Play Music and Doggcatcher. Basically sometimes if I'm playing something and I switch to another app, a few moments or minutes later the audio dies and the audio app gets killed. I can tell because when I enter back into Doggcatcher, the loading screen starts up as if it wasn't running before. Is this a case of over aggressive task killing? Is there a way to prevent this at all?

My definition/expectation of a 'notification' is a graphic/text message with the option to enable/disable a sound to alert me that the notification came in per app.
I want to:
1- enable/disable graphic/text per app
2- enable/disable sound per app
For #1, it looks like I have to go Setting>App Manager>All>Uncheck 'show notifications'. But, apparently that will disable everything...ie, no graphic/text or sound. I've tried lock screen and notification apps without luck so far......
I have a Nexus 7 running 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, with an unlocked boot loader and rooted. Since the 4.3 versions are now officially out, I was wondering how I would update. Is there any special process? Can I just use the normal OTA update service built-in? Will doing that lose my root and unlock? If possible, I'd prefer the most risk-free method, as I don't want to mess up my Nexus.

I've have a Nexus 7 2012 running 4.3. On a clean install, the running apps tab in the settings showed Used RAM equal to 450 MB.
After installing some apps, now the Used RAM shows to be 560 MB. I haven't installed apps that throw push ads or run background processes. I do have some free apps that show ads though.
I tried to stop cached processes an d running processes, bur that increased the RAM use. Even app ops doesn't list all my apps. Is there any way I can reduce this RAM usage?
I'm loving my Nexus 5, my first Android phone. I use Pattern Lock. I want to disable Pattern Lock when I'm at my home wifi. I did some research and it looks like apps can only turn off Pattern Lock when the phone is rooted. Is this true? I don't want to root my phone and I'd rather not have to enter Pattern Lock a hundred times a day.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm using a Nexus One running 2.3.4 and it looks like the gmail app version is 2.3.4.2 and I've noticed they've now incorporated the 'Important Labels' functionality into the app.
Problem is, I don't like/use/desire the important labels and now they're cluttering up my inbox view with a little yellow chevron next to the sender's name and the 'go to inbox' in the menu has moved and where it was is a 'mark important'
I had a look through the settings and I don't have priority inbox as my default, under label's there is a sync option for 'Important' which is set to 'None'.
Also I don't have the important labels for the web version of gmail proper on.
I think I may have accidentally marked one email on my phone as important (because that's where the go to inbox button was) so perhaps that's why they are showing up?
Any way to turn off/hide the important labels. Really annoyed that Google is making me find out how to opt-out of this feature rather than just asking if I wanted to opt-in
Got a Samsung Galaxy Nexus that I continually use for Wifi Tethering. The only problem is that it tends to run hot and sometimes reboot since it's continually being used. Is there a way I can fix it with an app? Or is there a cooling dock I can use (like Laptops use)?
