So when I get bored I usually bomb my friends phones with tons of funny pix I have accumulated or received. I get really bad reception in my house and it will go from edge, to 3G, to no data signal. I go stand on my porch, get 3G.... they still don't send.... but they don't fail to send, they just sit there with that stupid envelope next to them or that spinning circle (handcent).

I frequently email pictures from my phone. My iphone used to allow me to select a few pictures and send them. It would automatically resize so that recipients didn't get huge files.
I have not to date found a way to do this on android. I can go into quick pik or other programs and resize a picture manually... then select several and email.. but this is cumbersome and results in duplicates of my pictures in my gallery. I can't easily tell which is the big picture file and which is the small.
Is there a program out there that will automatically resize and send multiple pictures? This could be a separate program that sends to gmail or an email program itself.
I just picked up the Nexus 5 a week ago and other than battery life and Hangouts I think the phone is awesome! Anyways I'm having a weird intermittent problem when I send texts through Hangouts and I'm not sure whats causing the issue. I've had Hangouts send roughly a dozen texts through thinking they were picture texts. I've had my friends answer me back saying "I didn't receive the picture", and I never tried to send a pic?I'm also not really keen on Hangouts, whats a simple to use, bug free messaging app?

I am not new to android: i have had the G1 which i did not root, the T-Mobile pulse, which i rooted and the HTC Legend and now the Nexus one.

With the legend i am am awhere of the Sence UI ? i liked how facebook contacts synced to my phone and when i rang i saw there display pictures, does the Nexus one do this?
SMS, is there a similar app to the legend, where you see threaded messages with a picture of there facebook dp?
I can't hear the phone when it rings, its so quiet, the volume is on max, is there anyway to increase this?

I am picturing something like what I saw on G4 a year or so ago. Program that takes multiple pictures and creates a 3d map based on them in which you can walk around inside the map. I really wish I still had the bookmark for that page. Anyway, is that the same as what you are talking about here? Or am I mistaken? If it is the same, it is an amazing concept. I look forward to the site being up and running so I can poke around a bit. (Right now, it won't connect).

A colleague got one before me and one thing that he reported was that after the Froyo update he could not send pictures in the stock Mail app. I have replicated this. No matter the picture size, it will not send through the Maill app. Gmail works fine for this. My colleague says it worked before, but has broken on 2.2. Has this issue come up before? I couldn't find any threads for it. It's very annoying, because one of the main uses we have for the phone is to snap pictures of machines in the field and send them back to the office. Any help would be appreciated.

View 16 Replies View RelatedI have a note 3, and when i try to send pictures (.jpeg) through the stock messaging app, it says "select different media" and will not allow me to send it. if i choose hangouts to send the same picture, it will send. however, a friend of mine using a droid x2 ALWAYS says he doesn't get the pictures. he only gets a blank message. when i try sending the same picture through hangouts to my girlfriends S4, a preview of the picture will show on the conversation list of hangouts, but when you open the conversation, the picture does not show and it is also a blank message. if she opens the stock messaging app, the picture will show in there.

I'm just starting to get the hang of animations, tweened animations that is. I have made several imageviews with pictures rotating and moving, and its all very fun, but I don't know what the best approach for doing multiple animations is.

Multimedia messages are the same as data, thus I cannot send a picture message while roaming (I have my phone set to reject data if roaming). But sometimes I do not notice the roaming signal until after I hit send. If this happens, my EVO will continue to try to send the message and will alert me of the failure every couple of minutes.
Is there a way to stop this from happening? In other words, if I try to send a picture message, and I am roaming, is there a way to put the whole process on hold until I get a full signal again? It is very annoying to have it keep beeping at me. The only way I can stop it is to put the phone on Airplane mode. But then I can't do voice calls, or send and receive regular texts.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant rooted to ICS passion 13.1 and it uses the 3.1.10_ICS_KissYum_yum_good #1 Kernel. I rooted this phone from Froyo 2.2 down to Eclir then to CM7 and then ICS.
Anyways I think that is enough info but the issue I have is I cannot send or receive pictures via text. I used to be able to and I know the plan for Tmo supports it but even if I try to send one to myself all it does is say 'sending message'. I never get one in my inbox and it never gives the time of when it was delivered, or sent out. When someone else sends one to me, it shows the size of the file with a little button that says Download, next to it. Even if i turn wifi on and connect to my router then hit 'download' it doesn't do anything. I don't have the Data plan but I don't think that would cause the issue would it?
I just bought a Galaxy S3 this morning (first Android phone ever!) and for some reason, I haven't been able to send/receive any pictures to/from any of my friends who has an iPhone. I went into At&t earlier tonight and several people without iPhones sent me pictures and received pictures from me with no problems, but everyone with an iPhone couldn't receive my pictures. The techs there told me to try and use the lowest camera resolution and I was able to get one picture to send but still wasn't able to receive any pictures.
