View 1 RepliesI guess milestone is indeed a great device until i experience the problem of memory shortage for applications in the phone internal memory. is there any way to save the apps in the memory card instead?if not, i think i might sell this phone and get another really wish i do not have to do that.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI am new in this forum and i would like to know how to install apps from the market on the memory card and not the phone memory. i tried to search on the phone but i could not find how.

View 8 Replies View RelatedJust picked up a used Milestone and I need to enter the APN so I can use data on my carrier in Canada (Fido) whenever I go to create an APN, when I am done and click on save, it disappears as if I had never created one.
Anyone know why this is? Milestone is 2.1
I have had a Milestone running Android 2.1 for about a week.
Just thought I'd share the list of my favourite apps:
k-9 email (the only Android email client with imap idle push email, afaik)
k-9 data killer (widget to turn push email on/off)
Email Popup (for K-9 email): pops up a small box every time a new email is received
SMS Popup (as above, for text messages)
pure calendar widget
remember the milk (to do list; Astrid is a free alternative, and connects to the RTM servers, too)
Websms (with fishtext connector): sends cheap sms with fishtext
ContactsGroupU: shows contacts by group
a online radio
ColorNote
Fring (skype, messenger etc)
Quicksettings
EboBirthday
battery indicator (Darshan computing)
Profiles (egg 'n stone)
KeePassDroid (keepass password manager)
Multilang dictionary
Google translate
yxflash (to watch divx videos)
Startup auditor (checks which apps start at boot up)
android mate (organizes apps by category)
any cut: customizable shortcuts
B&B droidlight: turns your droid into a flashlight
Dailystrip: daily comic strip
I'm just setting up my Milestone and have the Googlemail and my Exchange server set up but am unableto save attachments of any sort.I can open them and read them on Googlemail but not on the Exchange and can't save them via either.
View 4 Replies View Relatedover the last month i have changed a lot of times the appearance of my desktop. However is there a way to save the current view of my phone? In order if i want in the future to select it again to be able easily, without taking so much time in creating each specific shortcut? This is something i think that the developers of homescreens need to think about.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a Motorola Moto G 8GB which is running very low on storage (only about 800mb left). This phone does not take Micro SD cards but it comes with 50GB Google Drive storage. However i haven't used this at all. I am wondering whether i could download android apps and games to google drive, dropbox etc. Games like Real Racing take up about 1GB so i cannot download it to my phone. Can i download it to the Cloud? If this is not possible, is there any way that i could save the app data on the cloud. E.g. The Simpsons: Tapped Out is about 37mb to download off the play store, but then you must download the updates etc which are about another 250mb. is there anyway to save this 250mb on the cloud. Or any other games data.

1. How do you save and run apps from the memory card ?
2. Is there a simple way to kill apps, as they seem to clog up.
3. Can the device be rooted?
Sd Card and can you run them from there?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI restored my apps but any new apps I download are saved on phone memory not SD. I have downloaded root explorer, but I don't know how to move apps or set default to save to card. Anyone know? I also have an app appearing twice in the menu when i install it. Is there a way to save them on an sd-card
This is something I cannot really find in my phone (Note 2) - some apps are saved on Phone's memory and some apps go to SD card. Is there a way to save apps right to the SD card?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI know this 2.1 is out of control, I was just curious about the option of being able to save apps to the SD card on 2.1 or without rooting? It sucks having to decide which apps are least important.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have just rooted my desire and its fine, i did a back up too so ive not lost anything and its working fine, but im trying to still figure out how to make a default setting of some kind so my apps save to my SD card rather than internal memory. also im trying to become more aware of the benefits of rooting now ive done it besides the increase in phone performance etc and things like that.
View 3 Replies View RelatedSo i rooted my phone this morning. Used the unprovoked to do this. I am not too technical so i needed an easy way to do this otherwise i might have bricked my phone.
Okay so now that i have rooted it i have the following questions:
1) i want to be able to save apps to my SD card (not on froyo yet) - i am not keen on these customized Roms and prefer something more standard what should i do?
2) how do i change the font on my phone
3) what else should i consider doing since i have rooted
With all of the above, hopefully they are easy to follow, as i mentioned i am not too technical.
i formatted my SD card in a desperate move on trying to fix this[0] issue i was having and now when i try to open MotoNav i get "Insert your MotoNav SD card" so my guess is, there was some sort of information for MotoNav stored there... now the million dollar question: "Any idea or hint on how to create that again?"

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy brother just bought a Milestone and he's having problems with the SD card (8gb). What happens is that he put some music on his phone, and with the program Ringdroid, began to cut some songs. Then, the phone began to crash, he restarted it. After restarting, the device didn't recognize the memory, saying "Blank sd card or unsupported system", occasionally rebooting, indicates that it was removed. I have looked in other threads and google it, but found nothing useful. I can't unmount or format it from the phone. And as I have the G1, I put my card (that works) on Milestone and got the same problem, so I think it's not the SD. I've already formatted it, nothing.
