View 4 RepliesSomeone save when you quit the motorola milestone?
View 4 RepliesJust picked up a used Milestone and I need to enter the APN so I can use data on my carrier in Canada (Fido) whenever I go to create an APN, when I am done and click on save, it disappears as if I had never created one.
Anyone know why this is? Milestone is 2.1
I'm just setting up my Milestone and have the Googlemail and my Exchange server set up but am unableto save attachments of any sort.I can open them and read them on Googlemail but not on the Exchange and can't save them via either.
View 4 Replies View RelatedHow can i actually do that? milestone has pathetically 133mb internal storage and i don't how to save those apps into SD.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI guess milestone is indeed a great device until i experience the problem of memory shortage for applications in the phone internal memory. is there any way to save the apps in the memory card instead?if not, i think i might sell this phone and get another really wish i do not have to do that.
View 4 Replies View Relatedover the last month i have changed a lot of times the appearance of my desktop. However is there a way to save the current view of my phone? In order if i want in the future to select it again to be able easily, without taking so much time in creating each specific shortcut? This is something i think that the developers of homescreens need to think about.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI am using Motorola Milestone UK version with AT & T. G Mail and Yahoo etc work fine. Data plan also work perfect wih At&T 2G. AT&T 3 G can not use with Milestone because 3 G band of AT & T is not supoerted by Milestone.
However, real problem is that when I call anybody, he always finds my voice breaks on Milestone. When I switch to speaker they find my voice perfect. I can hear their voice clearly. Any body has same problem.
Secondly, I would like to dowload "Car Home" app which is available with Droid. It is not available in Market place. When I try to see how it is intsalled in my friend's droid, it shows 0 KB. Does this app is part of Android for Verizon. When I dock the phone in Car dock, as I dont have Car home app so phone does not pop up Navigation window which is part of Car Home. I can use Google Map manually. This is not big problem.
Milestone Overclock consists of a kernel module for OMAP3 phones with Android to unlock any processor frequency/voltage combination and a companion graphical app to ease the configuration. The phone must be rooted so that the kernel module can be loaded. The module has an interface in /proc/overclock/* that allows enabling and disabling of overclock in runtime without rebooting. No flashing of custom roms or kernels is needed, since that is not even possible with the Milestone, Droid X and others.
View 7 Replies View RelatedMy green notification light has quit working. Any ideas?
View 2 Replies View RelatedIs there a reason some apps won;t exit, quit, end? Or is it poor design. Currently I have seesmis and sportstap which I cant seem to terminate. I like the apps but just dont want them to keep notifying me.
View 6 Replies View RelatedAfter the 2.1 update my notification light has stopped working. It no longer lights up for anything! Anyone else have this issue?
View 5 Replies View RelatedDid you guys notice how the speaker on the Milestone/Droid gets dirty, it's like a magnet for dust and lint, and once it's in there, it won't come out.I just found a little trick to clean it out:
1- Just grab a little amout of "fun-tak" or any other sticky putty.
2- Push it into the speaker hole, and the dust will come out with it when you remove it.
3- Rince and repeat
I was so glad to finally get it clean, that I had to share it.
Does anyone have a list of differences between the Droid and Milestone?I have a Milestone but most of the information on the Web is about the Droid. My current concern is about the amount of user flash memory. All information relating to the Droid states that there is 256MB available for user apps, yet on my Milestone, it only shows 197MB available?
View 8 Replies View Relatedi'm new to Android, still have much to learn.I'm wondering if we can take the startup bootanimation and the sound droiiiiidd of Droid into the Milestone. The startup of Milestone is so plain. Not really impressive.I already asked, there are some suggestions that adb push and pull to attach these new things into the Milestone. It's just "really hard" to me.1 more thing, the operating system doesnt not recognize my phone.I'm using win 7, i did install the Android SDK, typed : adb , it said : Cant not find the device (The Milestone). <- Must be solved first.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm currently on a HD2 But want a good Android phone. I've been looking at the Motorola Milestone, Qwerty Keyboard, Android 2.2, looks quite nice. I just wanna know, are there any cons to this phone, and also, can it runs 3D Games (Like the game loft ones) quite well? Also, is it a fast phone in general?
View 12 Replies View RelatedHere is something interesting about the Milestone. Enable Airplane mode, put it on the charger over night. Wake up to find your Milestone drained. This happens with my Blackberry Curve as well. Airplane mode drains the battery faster than its being charged. Has anyone else seen this? Or am i just getting lucky twice?
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy Motorola has begun to behave strangely. I think they lost the battery too quickly, so I have yesterday installed Netcounter and a Task Manager to see what it may be due.
Since yesterday, it downloaded 53 MB of data, including 28 MB today. It's too much, because I have hardly used it for anything but standby. There obviously mail pops up on it, but I read them on my PC. I have not used Google Maps, Web browsing or other things.
WiFi is off, but my battery is at 50% (this morning at 7:30 am, it was at 100% - now 4 hours later it's 50%).
Last night the Milestone was warm on the backside, but not where the battery is placed, but closer to where the sender/radio is placed.
Conclusion: Some programs must be running all the time,
1 hour ago I closed all programs using Task Manager.
But now, all these apps seems to be running (according to task manager):
*Netcounter
Phone Portal
Calendar
*Handcent SMS
**Alarm Clock
Music
Settings
Email (ikke google mail)
Maps
Media Gallery
Bluetooth file transfer
Smart Alarm clock
Messaging
Facebook (jeg bruger ikke facebook widget)
MyBackup
Corporate calendar (ikke google kalenderen, men en kalender der kan synkronisere med outlook)
**CalWidget
*Gmail
AK Notepad
Photoshop.com mobile
Practically all programs. I have only used programs marked *
** = programs I can understand if they're running, i.e. widgets
Why does all my programs start? And which are using the Internet?
I looked at settings -> about phone -> battery usage:
android.process.acore: 71%
Facebook: 6%
display 5%
Android system 5%
Phone idle 4%
Cell standby 3%
Google 3%
Android os 2%
Cell Standby should be >90% since I've not using the phone today.
Any ideas? Should I erase all and restart? Or is it because I have not updated yet (still running the 2.0 version from out of the box)
I am unable to use Gtalk, gmail, Maps, Market, Email (all pre installed) using GPRS/EDGE (Vodafone Live) on my Milestone. But All of these works with Wi-Fi connection. I installed Meeboo Messanger, this is also not working with GPRS/EDGE.
I called Motorola Customer care, they are saying that I have to take a DataPlan from Vodafone and should ask Vodafone to activate all GPRS/EDGE settings on my mobile. So I took a DataPlan (200 Rs. 100 MB), Vodafone People are saying that all available setting are already activated on my cell. But I am still unable to use any of them above. Every time no network connection found error is coming.
Unlike our US counterpart (Motorola Droid) the European Motorola Milestone/ users are not currently given any updates at all. The update server does not respond, as such we are stuck with 2.0 and with well known documented problems. Some of which make the device not usable.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen i take a photo in the dark just using the flash with a close up photo of an object. Half sometimes 3/4 of the screen is black, i have a feeling its and app because i sent it back to motorola and the re-flashed the phone, it was working fine until i restored all my apps using "my backup pro" and now i have the same problem as before.I need to find out which app is causing the problem.I also find that the camera doesnt work at full flash capacity because when i press the camera button to focus the testing flash is alot brighter than the flash it uses to take the actual photo.
View 13 Replies View RelatedI just got a milestone yesterday, and I was fascinated by it. The only thing that kills me, is that it doesn't take permission to connect to the internet. I used to have a Nokia, which always had to take my permission first to connect to 3G internet network.
But with the milestone, it doesn't, and I get charged for every single 1kb used I just lost what is equivalent to $10 USD in the last 5 mins for just trying to open Google and download the SlideME app. is there some kind of hidden tasks that uses the internet or something ?
One more thing, today morning, I opened facebook after recharging my credit balance with 20 USD. And guess what ? They're all gone too for just opening the home page! if I have an active internet connection, how can I close it ?
Does anyone know where to get a good pouch style case for the milestone? I've looked through eBay, but they are all generic ones which are either too small or big.
View 3 Replies View RelatedEverything seems damn fast and it's so simple to set up. Only problem is that I have set up my work e-mail (which sits on a server and is a POP-3 account I think!...can you tell I'm not technical?!?!) using the in-built client on the phone, trouble is that it keeps crashing and has to do a force close on me pretty much every time. I've looked for this same topic in the forum but cant find anything which answers the issue. Is the next software release likely to fix this bug?
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy wife and I both got Milestones about a month ago. So far so good; we're trying to keep up with the kids on technology. Anyways, we discovered we're unable to receive texts with pics, but are able to send them to iphones users (who can receive them). I asked about it at the Telus store, thinking it was a setting or something, and she said "smart phones can't receive pics by text, you have to email them". Doesn't really sound right... The choice to send a pic by text is an option in the menus, and it seems from reading the forums here that at least in the US, it's possible with the droid. So is this a Telus issue? No big deal, we're just wondering what's up. Even our daughter with a non-smart phone can send/receive pics by text.
View 21 Replies View RelatedIs there any way to reboot a crashed milestone when the power button is non responsive? WITHOUT pulling the bat I'm using a case thats a bit of a PITA to remove and when the phone crashes im getting a bit tired of tearing it apart just to get to the battery is there a key command on the keyboard to cut power?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've got a Motorola Milestone and would like to mount it to my Linux (Suse 11.2) without the use of the media cradle. With the cradle, you pop the phone on, connect your USB cable to the cradle and to the computer, and -- very important! -- switch your cradle from "charge" to "sync". Then your Milestone is immediately recognised as a USB mass storage device and all is fine. But without the cradle? The phone charges from USB but won't talk to my Linux. There is absolutely nothing in the syslogs, so it looks like the phone is not behaving as a USB-enabled device. It seems from the above that I should switch my phone from the charging mode to sync, but does anyone know how to do it?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have now been using the overclocking function for over a month and would like to report on the settings found to be most effective.
I use a combination of apps to achieve excellent battery consumption (1 1/2 days generally).
1. Screebl, set to 15 seconds.
2. Milestone Overclock, set to custom 1000 MHz @ 69 vsel
3. SetCPU general 1000/500 with charge 250/1000 and sleep 250/500
Ive found that the 125 MHz setting does not push enough juice to the radios and i sometimes get glitches with the touch panel/ dialler when SetCPUs ondemand governor is waking up to a call or 3g connection.
Also, the lowered vsel value of 69 seems to save a half day's battery as opposed to standard 1000 MHz/ 72 vsel offered by Milestone Overclock.
Screebl is a must for anyone who doesnt have it, as its simply the most effective battery manager out there. Would like a five seconds option though
How to do it?
in contact, menu button will show display option
display option>>only contacts with phones / Choose contacts to display (email acc)
I wonder if this means they are getting ready to release the update. I'll postagain if an update becomes available.
