I was wondering wether or not there is a website out there that gives cash for a broken Droid. I tried searching for days, but no answer.The hardware works fine, however the touchscreen does not respond.

I just saw a commercial for the Chase Real Cash Debit Card and in the scene where the guy is standing at the counter and his phone rings, he pulls out a MotoDroid! Just thought I'd share this. I think that it's cool that we are finally seeing Android phones in other commercials. I still haven't seen one in a TV show or movie yet, but I'm sure it's only time before I do. I tried finding the commercial with google, but I guess it's just too new of a commercial to be on the internet yet.

It worked fine yesterday but for some reason it just crapped out on me. It doest even go to the camera page when you hold it and i've tried all the settings.Anyone know what's up?I thought maybe just a loose conection but when i took the battery cover of it had torq he's screws so i can't take it apart to see.

I think my recovery is broken, i tried almost all the options it says to do if you have a broken recovery such as clear download cache, install past recoveries, install alternative recoveries, etc, nothing seems to be working. I also have a constant spinning circle within rom manager as if its trying to comlete some task. I would really like to flash a new rom but im stuck , any help would be very much appreciated.I guess i got so used to rom manager doing everything for me that i need to learn alternatives.

When I open Gallery, it immediately closes (it never displays any photos or thumbnails).
CAUSE:
I added some .nomedia files to my SD card (to hide album art from showing up in Gallery), and that's when Gallery refused to open. It just immediately closes/disappears anytime I try and open Gallery.
SOLUTIONS ATTEMPTED:
I'm trying to avoid a factory reset if possible. Here's what I have tried so far:
Cleared data/cache for Gallery app (at Settings>applications>manage applications>menu button>filter>all>gallery>clear data and clear cache). Problem still persists. I tried to repeat this, and now the Clear Data and Clear Cache buttons are both grayed out even after I force close Gallery.
Removed the files under: SD CardAndroiddatacom.android.providers.mediaalbu mthumbs
Removed SD CardDCIM.thumbnails directory
Removed all photos from the gallery and see if it still crashes. I manually deleted the DCIM folder, and snapped a couple test photos to force the recreation of the DCIM folder. I can view Camera Roll from the camera app, but Gallery still refuses to open.
I have also booted to recovery mode and noticed the following error: "E: Can't open /cache/recovery/command" From recovery, I used the "Wipe cache partition" utility, rebooted, and Gallery still won't open.
What else can I try? I'm at a loss here. I see a file called "thumbnailScale.trace" but am afraid to delete that.
Before 2.2 upgrade, under contacts/menu "display groups" would present me with a list of contact groups (all, phone, google) with a header of "show".Now I just get the "show" header and no list of groups.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a X that has 2.1 -update 1 on it that I got from a friend. I want to have 2.2 on it but when I try to update the phone OTA, it says that I am up to date. So I am guessing that are some things he played with that is making this not work.What I am hoping I can acomplish is get stock 2.2 on my X even if it involves RSD lite or other methods.RSD was the way I was going to go, untill I ran into the problem that the camera button does not work, so i can not get into the bootloader.Also, adb reboot bootloader isn't working, and rooting and trying to get Clockwork Recovery to work isn't doing what I need.So I am out of ideas on how to get 2.2 or any other ROM for that matter on my X.

Guess my Droid has to go naked now as I feel weird having only the back portion on it. Not sure what I should do really. Everything went fine, except the phone tried to boot into recovery, showed the M logo for quite a while, then rebooted itself into its normal state without doing anything. For some reason the weather portion of the News and Weather app has stopped working (I believe this started yesterday). The app simply says "Sorry, weather currently unavailable." My Beautiful Widgets weather is just fine. Has this happened to anyone else?
i've been a (mostly) happy user of the milestone, as it is called over here, but in the past few days i noticed a problem.the compass in the phone is not only off, but virtually broken. it detects a constant reading "to the upper left", which simply overrides the earth's magnetic field. so, no matter how i turn the phone, north is always between one and two o'clock. by using the amazin tricorder app, i was able to find out that the magnitude of the reading differs significantly depending on the orientation of the phone, reaching almost "100" in the max, and about "65" when the phone is 18o turned. so i cleverly deduced that the magnetic flux sensors are still somehow active; but still, they turn out to be useless to me if they show a constant reading no matter.

View 12 Replies View RelatedBoth flash was set on auto (yes even the second one) in low-medium lighting. This happened on my first Droid after a week or so of owning it so I returned it. Tried a hard reset and restarting the phone, didn't help. I also cleaned the lens and made sure my fingers were not in the way. The flash does go off each time.

Here to sign in you must accept a security certificate to be able to do this. It worked on my Droid the first day I did this and now I cannot get it to work, says it cannot redirect with no connection. Now this has happened before with my laptop and I just remove the certificate and it gets a new one and off I go. My question is where can I find these so I can delete it on the droid?

I so much want to choose the DX b/c of the larger screen but to be honest, it seems like the usability of the Inc is a a bit better (much closer to iPhone experience than D-X) as the scrolling b/w menus is much smoother than the D-X
Separately, I tried accessing the chicago tribune website on both phones - the DX only allows me to access the mobile version but the Inc allows me to access the full desktop version. When I tried clicking on desktop icon at the bottom of the Tribune website on the DX, it still points me to the mobile website. Any idea why this is the case?
