Is there any browser I can use (hopefully the default one) that will prevent a specific site from being accessed? It's really only one site I need to have blocked on the phone, but I can't seem to figure out how to do it.

Getting SMS spam somehow...I thought that Spareparts had a blacklist, but the version included in BB Froyo (Fabs NexBeast version) doesn't seem to have that....neither does the Froyo SMS client.
Am I missing something obvious in Froyo to do this?
Or anyone have a Froyo-compatible SMS blacklist program to recommend?
When recieving incoming calls message on screen when call is showing on device screen it shows system message : ["blacklisted incoming number"] {not exact message, but similiar...}. This is happened a couple of times so it is not a fluke. The calls work at first, but after this you cant recieve calls from that number. There is no setting or list to remove or edit the blacklist "feature".
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy work has free Wifi available for patients and whoever but you must first sign in on a main page it redirects to if your not already. Here to sign in you must accept a security certificate to be able to do this. It worked on my Droid the first day I did this and now I cannot get it to work, says it cannot redirect with no connection. Now this has happened before with my laptop and I just remove the certificate and it gets a new one and off I go. My question is where can I find these so I can delete it on the droid?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm debating whether to go with the Inc (shipped to my house on Friday) or the D-X. I so much want to choose the DX b/c of the larger screen but to be honest, it seems like the usability of the Inc is a a bit better (much closer to iPhone experience than D-X) as the scrolling b/w menus is much smoother than the D-X
Separately, I tried accessing the chicago tribune website on both phones - the DX only allows me to access the mobile version but the Inc allows me to access the full desktop version. When I tried clicking on desktop icon at the bottom of the Tribune website on the DX, it still points me to the mobile website. Any idea why this is the case?

It seems just yesterday they've added native support for Android. Now I can watch the highlight of the day, top 10s, etc all from their website.

Anyone else experiencing the same problem? Would hope there is a setting I could adjust to get the full browser experience.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been using the default browser on a droid X to access a website on my web-server for weeks but 3 days ago the website became unavailable (showing the "Web page not available" message). Every other domain on the internet seems to work just fine. I then found out that other websites hosted on my server could not load on the droid. I checked the Apache log files and determined that no inbound http connects were being received on my server.
So it seems like a connection was not being established between my droid X and my server using the default browser at all. Then I downloaded a Ping (icmp) app off the market and pinged my server IP and bang, a response. Then I pinged the domain name and received a quick response, meaning that both a connection was possible and that DNS was resolving correctly.
Remembering that Opera browsers use compression and route requests through their servers I thought this could bypass any gateway or proxy Verizon might have in place. The website loaded quickly and completely on the Opera Mini browser. I called Verizon technical support and got through (a bunch of ads) to a nice agent who could not identify any problems on his terminal. He helpfully navigated to my website on his droid X and it worked perfectly. I think he said that he was on the east coast so at least its working there. But there was nothing else he could do so...............

I used an app called iblacklist on my iphone and it works wonders for this. I was wondering if there is something in the market that functions the same as this. iblacklist also removes the calls from the recent calls list, that would be useful but not very important.

View 7 Replies View RelatedA friend called me and i rejected the call since i was busy, later when i unlocked the screen a pop-up kinda window was there with 3 options and a title saying Unlisted contact number, the options were : Blaclist number, deal with it later(or something like that) and dont show this again. From mistake i pushed blacklist. Where are the blacklist setting in DOnut(galaxo), i cant find them, i know in froto u can find them somewhere in call settings, in galaxo there isnt any.
This happend now, i`m charging the phone on my laptop, and when i removed the usb cable the music started playing, but the screen didnt showed anything or the notification bar,it wasnt even the last song i listened in music player; while the music was playing i went to music player and that started singing too, but the last song i listened, both songs were playin, i stopped the player and the intruder music was still playin, it stopped when i dragged down the notification bar. I re-did the action a few times and it was the same, now it doesnt do it anylonger.
Did a search a didn't find an answer to this. If you blacklist someone on Handcent, do they get a message back that their text didn't go through, or any other alert or message to that affect when they trying texting you?

Or otherwise: a list of friends that may see my caller ID, everone else not.
The reason for this is easy: I use my android phone on work but I don't want all customers have my private number just because they receive a call from my mobile phone.
I tried adding *31# before a contacts phone number which actually works, it disables the caller ID for the next call, but incoming numbers don't match the deposited phone number in the phonebook so I can't see who's calling I just see a number.
Is there a solution to my problem? If there isn't an automatic way to do this, maybe there is a quick-switch application I can place on my phone: hit once to toggle caller ID on/off...
i lost my phone today and i called my carrier and they said they could blacklist/block my phone so no one can access it!so i gave them my IMEI number, but he couldn't answer if rooting / flashing roms would affect this!
