I have never used Widgets before I thought the icons were those LOL. I now have an SMS widget on my main screen along with a lot of others. My phone is also set to 5 pages. Now my phone is suffering major slowdowns. Is it a bad idea to go over 3 home screens and is there a program to monitor for Widgets using to much memory.

I've read a couple of reviews on the Moto X and they all say that at times the phone felt sluggish and that the shutter speed on the camera can be slow at times. I know that "at times" doesn't mean it's a slow processor but vs. the incredible which is being touted as the phone that blows through any task with ease I was wondering which phone has better performance.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have been flashing roms a long time, since the days of sholesmod. Things have gotten easier, developers add great tools to roms to make switching over even easier, but there is one thing no matter what rom i run that i notice. Typically after 2-3 days after rom and kernal settles in, no matter what rom( I have tried almost all) i get so many redraws and home screen lag that i am starting to get tired of having a slow phone. I know your going to ask how much memory i have left on the internal(normally roughly at least 90 mb), Did i wipe boot/system/ data/cache/ yes before every rom install religiously. Am i over clocked? yes normally run in the 1200s, my droid is a beast at accepting every kernal/rom i throw at it. Lately i have been running lfy 1.7 and UD 2.0 in the last month and they start off so fast and impressive and then just get so lagged after a few days. I typically use launcher pro, although i have used adw alot, some roms work better with one or the other. I always use titanium backup, i always let the new rom install its own system apps and never use backups from other roms.I can deal with some lag at times but my biggest thing is app draw re-draw and when i have more than say 5 widgets running it gets so bad. a big culprit seems to be beautiful widgets, yes its pretty much my favorite of all. I am looking for any good advice from all the amazing helpers in these forums. My current set up is UD2.0(first time with UD) i still am running the stock kernal but looking for best advice on working (non-boot-looping) kernals to try that have ulv and interactive governors.

View 3 Replies View Related(HTC Desire running 2.2) Sometimes the init process enters a busy loop, consuming all CPU time. This has happened to me three or four times now. When it happens, Android System Info shows 100% CPU usage and if you run top in a terminal emulator, you can see that it's the init process eating up the CPU.
This makes the phone real slow and the only cure I know of is a reboot.I was going to check out the logs while the init was looping, but I forgot. I don't know how to repeat this - today it happened when I exitted VLC Stream and Convert, but it happened before I even installed this application.
I think this happened before the 2.2 upgrade as well and my son said his Xperia X10 eats the battery real fast sometimes - so maybe the same problem exists in Android 1.6 already.
I've noticed over the past week or so my Eris seems to be getting a little sluggish/touch screen a little slow in responding. I was wondering how can I tell what could be causing this? Are there certain programs that slow the down the phone more than others?

Mine seem to not like being butted up close together, and when I attempt to resize them with LPP, I notice they like to have a lot of blank space around them. I thought maybe a LCD density change would help with this, but it doesn't. If you understand what I'm talking about, any advice? If you're confused, I'll provide a picture later.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI actually was loving Launcher Pro on my Droid, but after I got my DX yesterday and installed it, I got really frustrated with it all last night. It took away the ability to resize the widgets....something I was really excited about. I also couldn't tell that I could any longer set up pictures of my contacts for direct dial or just as a contact and see the options once I touch the picture. So I bought the full blown version and I'm still not convinced. I want to resize my widgets. Since the Moto Blur (or whatever you want to call it) actually is customizable somewhat, and has the phone and contact pictures at the bottom of all screens, plus gives you the option to choose which screen to go to, I decided to go with that for a while. Since I own LP now, I may go back. I just got really frustrated. Anybody know when and if LP will allow the widgets to be re-sized?

I just recently did a hard reset of my Eris and while it fixed the problem I had, it deleted some of the original widgets that came with the phone. Like the one all HTC phones have(weather and time). Is there any way of getting them back?

Specifically, I have "Beautiful Widgets" installed, with the nice "Silent Widget" on my home, but I would like that to be a widget on my "Multimedia Home". View 5 Replies View RelatedAll of those with Launcher Pro Plus, check out the update. I bought the Pure Messenger widget strictly to have an integrated Facebook/Twitter feed. I am strictly an idle browser of both feeds - that is, I don't take them very seriously and just scroll through them occasionally. Consequently, I have no need for advanced tools, just an updating feed that I can peruse once in a while. Now LPP has a "friends" widget that is not only a free update to the app, but is faster and smoother than the Pure Messenger widget.
Also, LPP now has customizable rows/columns so you can set as many rows/columns as you want on the homescreens. This is super convenient because I always thought there should have been 5 columns on the homescreens.
I lost all the extra plus widgets? like bookmarks/calander/weather/etc. but it says i have launcher pro plus installed?

Open the Market, hit the options button and go to "downloads", and you can update from there. Just got the update myself and among some other neat changes, the weather actually updates properly now.

He noted to use a backup program to save the application if you want to use it going forward.Quite unfortunate, but figured it was worth mentioning if others haven't seen it.
