Motorola Droid X :: Way To Port Over 2.1 Lockscreen Without Using An App?

Oct 5, 2010

So is there a way to port over the 2.1 lockscreen without using an app? I am thinking along the same lines on how the R2D2 lockscreen was ported. I figured it could be possible with root but wasn't sure. I have tried a couple of apps from the market and they seem a little sluggish to me, and I hate the 2.2 locksreen on the phone. When I sbf'd back to 2.1 the other day the locksreen was so much better and makes me want it.

Motorola Droid :: SenseUI Port For Phone Available?

Motorola Droid :: Apps To Allow Micro USB Port?

Nov 9, 2009

I am curious to know if anyone has tried attaching a keyboard, controller or remote through the Micro USB port yet. Is there any apps yet to allow this? I think I may try and order a cheap Mini USB Game Controller with a Micro USB Adapter and see if I can use it to play games through one of my Emulators. If anyone has already tried this please let me know. Being able to use this Micro USB to output video is also a question I have. If anyone has discovered anything cool with this Micro USB port feel free to share.

Motorola Droid :: Charging Port Type?

Aug 10, 2010

I am wondering what the charging port type is on the droid? I just noticed that my droid car mount will slide onto my motorcycle TomTom mount. The problem is I wired my bike with the standard USB charger. The droid uses some different type of usb connector. What do they call it? Do they make an adaptor to go from the Droid connector to the standard USB connector?

Motorola Droid X :: Micro USB Port Orientation

Jul 7, 2010

Can one of the few of you who has a Droid X let me know the orientation of the Micro USB port? I'm thinking of getting a right angle (or left angle) micro usb cable and I want to make sure I get one where the cable runs down towards the bottom of the device. I'm pretty sure that the Moto Droid and the HTC Incredible are oriented differently.

Motorola Droid :: Port Incredible Exchange Support / UI To Droid?

Apr 29, 2010

A buddy at work got an Incredible and he entered email address and PW and everything was set up for him automatically, full email/contacts/calendar sync, PIN lock/wipe set up.I was looking through some of the screen shots of the Incredible Exchange support, and frankly, Exchange support on the Incredible kicks the Droid's a** in this area.Image Gallery: Verizon HTC DROID Incredible; Functions and Applications | ZDNet Photo Gallery I'm impressed. HTC must have done a ton of work in this area, assuming that the basic exchange functionality in 2.1 on the Incredible is the same that comes w/2.1 on the Droid. If that support could be ported to the Droid (either as an entire ROM, or just the exchange support sliced off) that would be amazing.

Android :: Motorola Droid Owners To Port 3G Watchdog Application

Nov 7, 2009

I'm the developer of 3G Watchdog, an application that monitors 3G traffic. I need help from Motorola Droid owners to port it to that phone. The app gets the network statistics data by reading pseudo-files /sys/ class/net/xxxx/statistics/rx_bytes and tx_bytes. "xxx" is the network interface name, which depends on the platform (or rather, the maker), e.g. for HTC phones it is "rmnet0", "pdp0" for Samsung..I'm looking for the name used by the Droid. If someone with a Droid could look (using adb) at / sys/ class/ net/ xxxx/ statistics/ rx_bytes and tell me what the xxxx is, it would make 3G Watchdog accessible to Motorola users.BTW, this remark is valid for any other future phone (Ericson, etc). New Android phones will appear on the market, and I need owner's contribution to port 3GW on them.

Motorola Droid :: USB Multiple Port Travel Chargers / Had To Pull Battery Last Night

Jan 22, 2010

I'm not sure if this is the problem - but it could be...sorry for the long post, but could REALLY use your help - and this is the best place to find it! Last night I hooked up my Droid to charge on this charger: Amazon.com: Lenmar ACUSB4 AC Travel Adapter for up to 4 USB Powered Devices (Black): Electronics.I went and checked on it later and it was turned off. This was after about 2 hours. The power button wouldn't work and I had to pull the battery to get it to turn on.

So I was thinking that maybe the charger wasn't good enough. Granted, it's not rated all that high but reviews have people charging an iPod, iPhone, Blackberry, and Kindle all at once with it.

It has the 5V output but a lower MA rating (I think 300ma input is what it says). I have another single port charger that only has 500ma (before people come in and say you NEED 800ma or whatever) and it works fine. Anyhow, I tried to replicate the problem by plugging it back into the charger (I wanted to see if it was the charger, or something I did, like set it down too hard...as I have the business card under the battery trick for the back case, thought maybe I dislodged it and was covering the leads or something), and after 8.5 hours, no problems. Fully charged, it was on this morning when I woke.I would REALLY prefer to have a multiple USB charger (even if it costs 50 bucks or more) because I travel a TON and have a bunch of USB devices (6+) that need charged.

Motorola Droid X :: Space Between Widgets?

Oct 20, 2010

I've seen various screenshots of people's phones that have shown their widgets to be pretty close to each other. Mine seem to not like being butted up close together, and when I attempt to resize them with LPP, I notice they like to have a lot of blank space around them. I thought maybe a LCD density change would help with this, but it doesn't. If you understand what I'm talking about, any advice? If you're confused, I'll provide a picture later.

Motorola Droid X : LP Allow Widgets To Be Re-sized?

Jul 23, 2010

I actually was loving Launcher Pro on my Droid, but after I got my DX yesterday and installed it, I got really frustrated with it all last night. It took away the ability to resize the widgets....something I was really excited about. I also couldn't tell that I could any longer set up pictures of my contacts for direct dial or just as a contact and see the options once I touch the picture. So I bought the full blown version and I'm still not convinced. I want to resize my widgets. Since the Moto Blur (or whatever you want to call it) actually is customizable somewhat, and has the phone and contact pictures at the bottom of all screens, plus gives you the option to choose which screen to go to, I decided to go with that for a while. Since I own LP now, I may go back. I just got really frustrated. Anybody know when and if LP will allow the widgets to be re-sized?

Motorola Droid X :: LauncherPro Keeps Killing Widgets

Sep 21, 2010

All of those with Launcher Pro Plus, check out the update. I bought the Pure Messenger widget strictly to have an integrated Facebook/Twitter feed. I am strictly an idle browser of both feeds - that is, I don't take them very seriously and just scroll through them occasionally. Consequently, I have no need for advanced tools, just an updating feed that I can peruse once in a while. Now LPP has a "friends" widget that is not only a free update to the app, but is faster and smoother than the Pure Messenger widget.

Also, LPP now has customizable rows/columns so you can set as many rows/columns as you want on the homescreens. This is super convenient because I always thought there should have been 5 columns on the homescreens.
