My droid haas a slight gap one left side when closed. when I tap on the screen the gap closes a little then opens, giving an annoying "springyness" to my tapping. It's very annoying.
After owning a first gen iphone and a pre, the droid is my favorite. But if this problem only occurs on a fraction of droids i'd like to consider an exchange.

There is a spec of dust along the left side of the screen about 1" up. Its definatly under the glass and annoying as shit. Also the metal on the frame is so dense that it has 3 small and i mean SMALL pits in the metal.... How is this even possible? I use my iPhone as a coaster for the Droid and it sits in my pocket glass out... They are definatly pitted indentions in the metal as you can run your fingernail across them and feel it. Any ideas if I can go into verizon store to get a replacement for the spec under the glass? I bought it online launch day and have only had it since monday.
View 12 Replies View RelatedHave a D1 running stock. Was working fine, then the strange happened. The left side of the phone stopped working. None of the icons on the screen or the back arrow. Everything else seems to be working. If I set it to the phone log the phone will begin to make calls on its own. So do I go for a new one or is there a fix for this?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI noticed that even when my battery hatch is closed all the way (and yes, I definitely clicked it into position fully), there is still a small opening between the fake carbon backing (that comes off all the way when you access the battery) and the little plastic piece that slides up and down to allow the carbon backing to be removed. On the top part, where the fake carbon backing meets the top part of the phone (the bit that has the camera on it), there is no such gap. Does anyone else have this? Just want to make sure it's 'normal' and that I don't have my backing on improperly / a defective phone.

View 3 Replies View RelatedOn the left edge of the screen, there is a line going down the side that almost looks like its suppose to be the far right side of the screen because when i move to different homepages, it shows up in that little line first as it swypes across (if that makes any sense). Has anyone else had any screen issues similar to this? This kind of sucks. I was happy that I haven't had any major problems with my phone.
View 3 Replies View RelatedAfter having my Desire for no more than 2 weeks, I started to get dust under the screen on the left hand side about half way up. Though frustrating as my phone is never out of some sort of case, it is not too bad, doesn?t affect the phone in anyway and you can only really see it when the screen is off. I have been to my local T-Mobile shop and they have said they will happily send it off to be cleaned but to wait until it gets worse as I will be without my phone for a couple of weeks.

View 7 Replies View RelatedMy employer is having me work on an android application with very specific UI requirements. Specifically, we need an interface that looks exactly like a TabWidget interface. However, having the tabs on the left hand side is an absolute must. We aren't going to be deploying this application to any android phones, its for an in house device, and as such don't have any problem violating any design considerations that the android platform might have.
We already have a working prototype that hacks together the functionality we need using a combination of focus listeners and list views. It isn't pretty, and we aren't very confident in it just yet, but it works for the time being.
What we'd really like is to throw all of our prototype UI code away in exchange for using the built in TabWidget. However, since TabWidget is hardcoded to only work with the tabs on top, this isn't really an option.
So, we are hoping that someone out there has a patch, or set of patches, or perhaps a custom class, that handles the TabWidget functionality with the tabs on the side instead?

The left lower side of my battery cover doesn't fully snap into place, causing an annoying gap. It was never like this, but I took the cover off to remove the battery, and when I tried to put it back in, it wouldn't snap. I tried a different cover and it still didn't fit... I have no idea why it wont snap in all of a sudden. Anyone else have this? I'm on my fourth epic, If I have to go to #5 I might just say forget it and save my upgrade
View 3 Replies View RelatedBattery Left was the first thing I installed on my phone when I got it. My battery life has been terrible so I've been trying to track down the problem. I woke up today, unplugged my phone and didn't touch it for an hour. Battery Left says I have 70 percent left but the battery meter in the status bar showed full. I uninstalled battery left and installed Battstatt and it shows 90 percent (2 hours later). Anyone else have problems with battery left? I hope this fixes my battery problem.

I'm not talking about inward and outward, but rather up and down on the vertical y-axis like from the ear speaker at the top to the mouth mic at the bottom. View 15 Replies View Relatedi have looked everywhere, but i cannot find one that does. i can't stand the added bulk that the 2 piece snap on cases add, and i never use the keyboard any way, so a nice 1 piece silicone or resin cover would be excellent. it would also cut down on the number of times that the keyboard slides open while in my pocket, which happens fairly often. i know i can't be the first one to think of this!
View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen I exit out of an app the screen is blank for 30 seconds or so before my widgets and icons reappear. I had it back in November 2009 and I still have it after 2.0.1 and 2.1 and 2.2 and the other 2.2. I see a million threads here and on other forums asking about it. Just checking in to see if there was ever a solution discovered. Like all of you, I can always bring them back with a hard or soft reset.
I'm just wondering if anyone has found a way to prevent it from happening in the first place. I assume that it's related to available memory or processor or something, so every once in a while I think "I'm going to streamline this thing and give it all kinds of available memory" and it doesn't work. I kill all widgets and go to vanilla wallpaper and it still happens. Anyone figure this thing out?
So, not much of a Google Talk user, but now and then. And, I mostly use it via my desktop gMail app.. not on my phone.
Anyway, I close out the Talk app, but no matter what, even if it is closed, killed, off, it activates itself when someone sends me a chat.. even if I am logged on via my gMail account.
How the heck can you shut it off? What is it that makes it start up because someone wants to chat. I see no way to stop it and I am not always in the mood or able to chat and do not want to be disturbed but this Google Talk seems to start up and alert you anyway.
Ok one of the weirdest things happened just now. I switched back to UD 8 last night just cause. I had on BB 0.5 b4 if that matters. I didn't wipe data or cache either (Don't know if that matters or not). So for some reason both launcher pro and android system force closed. So I went to UD settings and put fix permissions. I then switched to ADW Launcher to see if that helped.
That helped for a little while but while i was in a call a few minutes later I press the home button and it doesn't even work!!! I pressed back until I hopefully went back to the homescreen. It first of all never went back to the homescreen and second of all just stayed in the browser and another note is that while I tried to go home it didn't work but when I held the home button it showed my recent apps.
So I did a battery pull and all it did was stay in the boot animation for almost ten minutes. Now I just have the battery out to let the droid cool down. The CPU was getting pretty hot. Was this just an overheat or did my droid just flip out on me. Would like to know if something similar to this has happened to anyone else for future reference. I know I'm definitely not bricked but what would be the right steps to get back to my normal droid.
edit: all of this happened after I put the sense theme, keyboard, and revolution theme onto my sdcard. While the files were on my laptop they gave my laptop the blue screen of death. I found these files in another thread on this site. Could they be killer files set out to kill any device that they are on. Perhaps. But idk what to do still.
Is anyone else's side volume key very loose and wobbly? Mine rocks back and forth a ton. In fact, if I shake the phone I can hear it wobbling. Everything is working fine, but I'm wondering if I should take it back.
