Aug 21, 2010I closed my Facebook account. Is there a way I can get rid of it on my Droid. Every morning I get a message that the Facebook validation failed.

Nov 9, 2010I am trying to remove my facebook and twitter accounts from my phone since they took over my contacts list and I simply just do not want them. When I go to settings > accounts > then try to remove either of them I get the Removing Account box with the red bar and it feels up to the end. Then I get an error message saying "An error has occurred. Please try again." I have rebooted the phone and everything.I googled this problem and found many posts with the same problem, but no answers. Does anyone have a clue what to do ?

Jul 7, 2010After the update to Android 2.1 on my HTC Eris, like many other people, I had problems syncing my phone contacts to my facebook contacts. The process com.htc.bgp constantly force closed, and no linking could be made or is some cases only a part of the facebook contacts were synced.
Different fixes has been suggested by users online but none of them worked
My wifes account works perfect on my phone but mine does not work on her phone
Obviously its something on my FB account but what?

Aug 19, 2010Droid X - Configured with a Google Apps Premiere, working great. Attempting to add a personal GMail account. Go to the GMail app, select add account, fill in the metrics and then...... "Needs to communicate" message for ~ 3 minutes, then bombs out with - "Can't establish a reliable data connection to the server". 3G is fine, on a wifi connection that is fine, web browser works fine..... Google Apps account works fine.

Recently, I decided to deactivate my Facebook account since I don't really use it anymore. I have always had it listed in my accounts with Google and Twitter, and now I want it removed. I saw a thread where someone belived it happened at the Verizon Store when they synced the phone for the end user. Just like they did for me with no explanations.Could this be why contacts created on my phone seem to be invisible to all kinds of syncing?

Sep 20, 2010When I exit out of an app the screen is blank for 30 seconds or so before my widgets and icons reappear. I had it back in November 2009 and I still have it after 2.0.1 and 2.1 and 2.2 and the other 2.2. I see a million threads here and on other forums asking about it. Just checking in to see if there was ever a solution discovered. Like all of you, I can always bring them back with a hard or soft reset.
I'm just wondering if anyone has found a way to prevent it from happening in the first place. I assume that it's related to available memory or processor or something, so every once in a while I think "I'm going to streamline this thing and give it all kinds of available memory" and it doesn't work. I kill all widgets and go to vanilla wallpaper and it still happens. Anyone figure this thing out?
Motorola Droid :: Google Talk Opens Even When Off/closed/killed
Mar 17, 2010So, not much of a Google Talk user, but now and then. And, I mostly use it via my desktop gMail app.. not on my phone.
Anyway, I close out the Talk app, but no matter what, even if it is closed, killed, off, it activates itself when someone sends me a chat.. even if I am logged on via my gMail account.
How the heck can you shut it off? What is it that makes it start up because someone wants to chat. I see no way to stop it and I am not always in the mood or able to chat and do not want to be disturbed but this Google Talk seems to start up and alert you anyway.

It just takes me back to the "Add Account" screen. There's no option to even input my information to sync the account. Does anyone know what could be causing this problem?
Motorola Droid : Home Button Does Not Work / Launcher Pro Force Closed
Sep 25, 2010Ok one of the weirdest things happened just now. I switched back to UD 8 last night just cause. I had on BB 0.5 b4 if that matters. I didn't wipe data or cache either (Don't know if that matters or not). So for some reason both launcher pro and android system force closed. So I went to UD settings and put fix permissions. I then switched to ADW Launcher to see if that helped.
That helped for a little while but while i was in a call a few minutes later I press the home button and it doesn't even work!!! I pressed back until I hopefully went back to the homescreen. It first of all never went back to the homescreen and second of all just stayed in the browser and another note is that while I tried to go home it didn't work but when I held the home button it showed my recent apps.
So I did a battery pull and all it did was stay in the boot animation for almost ten minutes. Now I just have the battery out to let the droid cool down. The CPU was getting pretty hot. Was this just an overheat or did my droid just flip out on me. Would like to know if something similar to this has happened to anyone else for future reference. I know I'm definitely not bricked but what would be the right steps to get back to my normal droid.
edit: all of this happened after I put the sense theme, keyboard, and revolution theme onto my sdcard. While the files were on my laptop they gave my laptop the blue screen of death. I found these files in another thread on this site. Could they be killer files set out to kill any device that they are on. Perhaps. But idk what to do still.

Feb 3, 2010Whenever I try to log into my youtube account on my Droid, it freezes up. I will open the Youtube app, press menu and click My account. Then it has 2 choices: 1) My email address, 2) Add account. When I click on my email it freezes up and eventually the Droid gives me the option to "Force close" it, as it is not responding. I also tried "Add account" and typed in my email address (which had already shown up as the first choice) and password, and it said "authenticating" and then froze up too.

As of now, my cal and contacts are syncing fine but I do not use the e-mail account that is associated with thier username. I have my other account (personal e-mail) set up sepeartely....along with a few other e-mail accounts(work and etc.). I would like to know if i can leave my cal and contacts setup on the regular droid sync account but change the e-mail account to my personal acct. so it will "push" by default with out having it in a seperate palce on the droid. I know this is confusing but i dont know how else to explian it.

Aug 20, 2010I am the proud new owner of a Droid 2. After messing around with it for 2 days, I finally figured out how to link my Facebook contacts with my already existing phone contacts, so I did not have people in there twice, under two different names! However, only SOME of them are allowing me to change their caller ID names. For instance, my Mom is on Facebook, so instead of having her caller ID as her FB name, it allowed me to change it to "Mom", but for other contacts, it won't let me. Any idea why, or how to fix this? Also, is there still NO way to get rid of the unwanted contacts without deleting them from your Facebook friends list? That is driving me nuts! I don't need ALL 225 of my facebook friends in my phone.
