Motorola Droid :: Gmail And Hotmail / Pop3 Workmail Through Mail Fetcher
Mar 3, 2010I was frustrated with our droids ability to use multiple pop3 email accounts at once. Sometime my emails would arrive hours after they were sent, which in business is unacceptable. Multiple pop3 accounts and gmail through activesync worked so smooth on my windows mobile Omnia i910. I am now trying to use mail fetcher integrated in gmail. I like it ok, and it's polling interval is getting shorter all the time (since google automatically calculates how often it should do it). I setup the pop3 accounts to get Labeled as the email account they come in on and auto Archive. I Archive the mail because I do not like a common inbox. Call me old school or whatever but I like to keep my buisness and pleasure separated. Here is my question:
My real question is now on my phone how can I automatically tell when a new email arrives from one of those other accounts (since it auto archives under it's label and hence doesn't show up in my inbox). If I can get this working my phone will be everything I always wanted.

Jan 28, 2010for some reason i can't seem to set up my personal yahoo email account. i keep getting an error saying i'm not authenticated? i just logged in with this pc and didn't have any problems. i was trying to set it up using the mail widget google /gmail worked just fine with their widget are they trying to just force me to use gmail only anyone have any similar problems and/or tips to get it set up. i would like to move to one email account but you know how it is, you get on, you get another, people have the old address guess i could forward yahoo to gmail.

For instance contact #1 has a gmail account I can see the picture that they update on their gmail account and statuses but contact #2 doesn't show anything from there gmail account. Is there a way to get this contacts to all link to there gmail, if they have a gmail account?

I'm basically getting my kids Nexus 7's but rather than sign them all up for gmail when they already have e-mail accounts, I was hoping I could just use their existing e-mails for simplicity.

Feb 21, 2010I could swear I had de-selected a "noise cancellation" option in a menue somewhere in an effort to get my Droid to sound better during calls, but i can't for my life find it. (-Was I tripping?) Since then, I've removed my cheap-ass made-by-not-Motorola case after realizing (via this forum) that it was covering up the exterior microphone. Calls still sound like crap to me, but at least people can hear me better, I think. Anyway, if there's the noise cancellation opt and I wasn't dreaming or severely confused, can someone point me in the direction of that?

Jul 17, 2010Is there a way to do it? I took a picture in portrait that fits the Droid X screen size perfectly and I want to use that as my wallpaper. I have scrollable wallpaper off and don't use the landscape mode for the home screen. I have that turned off as well. So really it makes no sense and its highly annoying.

Sep 4, 2010I'm wanting to set up another email account and when I select the new account button on the setup account screen, it takes me to a screen with a "Motorola service agreement" and I have to agree with the terms and conditions before continuing. Is this correct? Do all email accounts go through a Motorola server? The same thing happens with setting up Facebook, MySpace and other services.

His palm treo would anounce the person's name that was calling, he liked this for when he didnt have his phone near him, he would know who was calling and knew if to rush and get it or not. I'm not a android user YET, I have a Curve and waiting for the Nexus one to go on vzw to do the switch, so I have no idea if this option he's looking for is available for his Droid.
