Jan 26, 2010With heavy usage, is this normal? I've heard some peoples battery can last up to 2 days...do you just not use the phone or what?

Sep 22, 2010For 2 days my battery has been draining quickly. This morning it is dead in less than 4 hours. I sent four texts. Checking battery usage, this is what I found: com.android.launcher - 46%, Beautiful Widget (just uninstalled) - 37%. I have never noticed these processes taking up so much battery. Background: I have been receiving a low storage notice so I deleted some apps, texts and pictures and plugged in for the night. The next morning the severe battery drain began. I was concerned about shorter battery life after the latest update so I have recently changed my settings to lower frequency for refreshing email, etc.

Aug 1, 2010I've tried BB 0.4 with two different kernels no good and kangerade 5.0.9 think. Still no good. Display is always on lowest setting possible but battery usage for display is well over 50. Only lasting 8-12 hours. First 10% drains in 10 minutes. Wtf!!! Overclock widget hasn't helped. And haven't tried setcpu. No credit card. So does setcpu improve battery life dramatically? Never had a problem with battery life before rooted Froyo. Ne suggestions? I just saw a new SS rom and new Chevy kernel. Anyone have any luck with them yet?

Jan 9, 2010The droid as two email apps built in that I see. One is for gmail only and the other for any other email out there (excluding yahoo). The other one also one can be setup to use as a gmail account. What is the benefit to setting up the gmail app to only gmail and not just putting gmail on the other one so all you email accounts are displayed in one location? Do both of the settings push the gmail to your phone or does your phone have to fetch on one of the settings? Also, is there a way to set up your email to only fetch once every 12 or 24 hours? I think the only options I see is up to 1 hr or manually.

I put it in the car dock to and from the Mann center last night, took some pics and played lightly online. forgot to plug it in before I went to bed last night, and now at 11am, im @ 15%.Do i have a battery drain app on here or something? Jul 20, 2010My girlfriend and I both bought this phone from Verizon last Friday. We both let the battery run down completely before charging it up (which I was told by the Verizon rep was the "way to go"), and we have both been experiencing GOD AWFUL battery life. Strange battery behavior has included (but has not been limited to):
- Battery going from 100% to 5% after 5.5 hours straight of browsing, playing games, etc., followed by the Battery going from 100% to 5% after 5.5 hours of idle (with light texting and a few quick phone calls mixed in). Seemingly no consistency.
- Battery draining down to around 30% after about 8 hours off-charger with light to moderate use (a few web pages, a few apps downloaded, and about half a dozen texts). If this wasn't annoying enough, shortly after reaching 30%, the phone suddenly took a nosedive into the red, and warned me that I had 5% battery remaining.................

Sep 18, 2010Is there a way to turn off only email notifications during off peak hours ex 10pm-7am? I still want my phone to ring if someone calls or text but when I get stupid spam emails at 2am the notification wakes me or my wife up.

Aug 21, 2010After upgrading to rooted 2.2, I noticed that if I receive a text message at 10:18, it shows that I got it at 6:18 when I pull down the notification bar. When I click on it and go into text messages it shows the correct time though. Anyone else experience this? It's these minor things that are frustrating to me.

May 11, 2010Currently I have an Eris with v3 Leak meaning I can't root. But my wife loves my phone so I plan on giving her mine and either getting another eris and rooting or a Moto Droid and rooting. I've been trying to read up on the Droid and the different ROMS available and have some questions.First I want to make a few things clear:
1. This IS NOT a phone comparison.
2. The Incredilble IS NOT an option since it can't be rooted and I don't want to spend $200 on it.
3. I'm looking for WELL INFORMED OPINIONS, if you don't have one keep moving there is nothing to see here.
To be fair I've obviously done a lot more reading on the Eris which is why I'm looking for well informed opinions from Droid owners that way I can make a well informed decision.

Aug 14, 2010I manually installed the FRG01B update yesterday. And since doing so, I have noticed a ridiculously steep drop in battery life. Do I need to be running FRG22? Is that available to download manually, if so? I also know that I don't have the version of Facebook that was causing battery drainage. ATK didn't seem to help at all (it might have even made it worse). Is there anything I can do to vastly improve battery life? It would be great if I could get the phone's battery to last at least 24 hours. I already uninstalled ATK, by the way.

Oct 4, 2010Do those numbers seem normal to the rest of you? Right now if I am using my phone for browsing, video, etc. it will run the battery from full charge to dead in just under 4 hours. If I just leave the phone turned on but with no apps running (standby) it runs out of power in roughly 48 hours. Is this the battery life I should expect from this phone?

The adb commands were successfull. WHen I rebooted my droid it was bricked (well not really cause I did a Nandroid backup right before I did this) It was just frozen with the white Motorola logo. Perhaps I downloaded a bad 800 mhz evilboot8.img.

Feb 20, 2014Motorola moto G8. First thing I did is connected the phone to the charger and next I turned on the power. Next I got a notice about an available Android update, which I accepted. Downloading the update went smooth (via WiFi). But then my phone asked to reboot to install updates. Now I'm seeing the same screen 'cycle' for three hours. I see the Android guy with some blue geometrical shapes in his belly. Under that guy there's a status bar and the text 'installing update'. The status bar moves to a certain point, seems to freeze and then jumps towards the end. Next the screen goes black for a second and then the same cycle repeats itself.

I did click on the shole updater but I never opened it up because I am a chickenshit and know my limitations. Sep 22, 2010I'm a bit noobish since this is my first Android phone, so please forgive me. I rooted my Droid X running 2.1 using the GUI program. I used Root Explorer to rename a few bloatware apps. I did not make any other changes, just installed Titanium Backup and used it to make a backup. To successfully install the OTA update to 2.2, what do I need to do? I read that I need to restore the bloatware. Do I also need to unroot first? I've also read in a couple places something about moving Superuser.apk from bin to xbin. Is that what I need to do to stay rooted in 2.2?
