I've been reading where people has their power setting on the Droid X to be able to last for 12-18 hours. While mine lasts far less than that. How did you set yours up?

Tonight i was playing around with the "power settings" widget that allows you to control the wifi, gps, brightness, sync, bluetooth settings. i was hitting all the buttons and didnt realize that it changed settings inside my phone. now i want to go back to the default power settings for each on the widget and cant remember what they were. I already found and turned on the "automatic brightness" feature. but what about the "auto sync" option? was that on or off by default? and others...

View 15 Replies View RelatedFor 2 days my battery has been draining quickly. This morning it is dead in less than 4 hours. I sent four texts. Checking battery usage, this is what I found: com.android.launcher - 46%, Beautiful Widget (just uninstalled) - 37%. I have never noticed these processes taking up so much battery. Background: I have been receiving a low storage notice so I deleted some apps, texts and pictures and plugged in for the night. The next morning the severe battery drain began. I was concerned about shorter battery life after the latest update so I have recently changed my settings to lower frequency for refreshing email, etc.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've tried BB 0.4 with two different kernels no good and kangerade 5.0.9 think. Still no good. Display is always on lowest setting possible but battery usage for display is well over 50. Only lasting 8-12 hours. First 10% drains in 10 minutes. Wtf!!! Overclock widget hasn't helped. And haven't tried setcpu. No credit card. So does setcpu improve battery life dramatically? Never had a problem with battery life before rooted Froyo. Ne suggestions? I just saw a new SS rom and new Chevy kernel. Anyone have any luck with them yet?

Ever since, I get a notification that the image is downloaded, like every 4-5 hours, for the past week. I've removed the wallpaper, then I deleted the image file from my Droid. View 5 Replies View RelatedThe droid as two email apps built in that I see. One is for gmail only and the other for any other email out there (excluding yahoo). The other one also one can be setup to use as a gmail account. What is the benefit to setting up the gmail app to only gmail and not just putting gmail on the other one so all you email accounts are displayed in one location? Do both of the settings push the gmail to your phone or does your phone have to fetch on one of the settings? Also, is there a way to set up your email to only fetch once every 12 or 24 hours? I think the only options I see is up to 1 hr or manually.

I put it in the car dock to and from the Mann center last night, took some pics and played lightly online. forgot to plug it in before I went to bed last night, and now at 11am, im @ 15%.Do i have a battery drain app on here or something? We both let the battery run down completely before charging it up (which I was told by the Verizon rep was the "way to go"), and we have both been experiencing GOD AWFUL battery life. Strange battery behavior has included (but has not been limited to):
- Battery going from 100% to 5% after 5.5 hours straight of browsing, playing games, etc., followed by the Battery going from 100% to 5% after 5.5 hours of idle (with light texting and a few quick phone calls mixed in). Seemingly no consistency.
- Battery draining down to around 30% after about 8 hours off-charger with light to moderate use (a few web pages, a few apps downloaded, and about half a dozen texts). If this wasn't annoying enough, shortly after reaching 30%, the phone suddenly took a nosedive into the red, and warned me that I had 5% battery remaining.................
Is there a way to turn off only email notifications during off peak hours ex 10pm-7am? I still want my phone to ring if someone calls or text but when I get stupid spam emails at 2am the notification wakes me or my wife up.

View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter upgrading to rooted 2.2, I noticed that if I receive a text message at 10:18, it shows that I got it at 6:18 when I pull down the notification bar. When I click on it and go into text messages it shows the correct time though. Anyone else experience this? It's these minor things that are frustrating to me.

The one's I'm concerned with are:
video playback
automatic screen dimming
disabled camera functionality
The "automatic" brightness setting sucks. It doesn't detect high light situations, like being outdoors. To get the proper brightness you need to use the power control widget to set the brightness up to see it in sunlight. Not a big deal, but after using the widget you either have to manually reset it to automatic in the settings, turn the brightness off or on high. Its just kind of annoying. When your in sunlight without the brightness up to the highest level I can see nothing on the phone. Literally the screen appears to be off. Is this just my phone, or does the incredible really not sense high light situations.

I've been trying to compile the original code for the power control widget from the "settings" app, but it won't because of the missing / hidden / internal classes,I remember with a modified Settings apk with more or modified buttons in the widget.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI manually installed the FRG01B update yesterday. And since doing so, I have noticed a ridiculously steep drop in battery life. Do I need to be running FRG22? Is that available to download manually, if so? I also know that I don't have the version of Facebook that was causing battery drainage. ATK didn't seem to help at all (it might have even made it worse). Is there anything I can do to vastly improve battery life? It would be great if I could get the phone's battery to last at least 24 hours. I already uninstalled ATK, by the way.

I'm talking normal, run-of-the-mill settings not what you crank it to when you're outside, and not what you turn it down to for playing games in the dark. I want your normal setting. Anyone have an idea of how much power usage is impacted? (Like, does 100% Brightness use 50% more power than 10%, or does it use 400% more power?)

Right now if I am using my phone for browsing, video, etc. it will run the battery from full charge to dead in just under 4 hours. If I just leave the phone turned on but with no apps running (standby) it runs out of power in roughly 48 hours. Is this the battery life I should expect from this phone?

I just got my Droid but the power button seems to feel mushy clicky instead of how a button should feel with a proper click when engaging. What about you guys? Mine like mushy click feel but if I press dead center then its a near perfect less mushy click.

No matter what, if it is plugged in charging, the phone is on. any help?And also, when setting a background. View 6 Replies View RelatedI am new to this rooting stuff. I am running 2.2, froyo and Launcher Pro. When I power off (don't do often) the phone comes back up really slow. I tried the default Launcher and it does the same thing so I am thinking it probably is not Launcher Pro (although it could be doing something in the background) I noticed that my clock speed, which was set to 900 is down to 250 when the phone boots back up which is probably why it is powering up so slow. Is there anything I can do to have it keep the 900 setting so that it boots back up faster? Is it the clock widget possibly? Be gentle, I am tech challenged.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Question, I had liquid froyo 1.6 on my phone with one of the available themes, compared to bb0.4 it used a lot more of the battery.Yes I had the same apps on the phone with the same widgets and using the phone in the same areas as I normally do. Also used it less than I have with bb 0.4. I went from 100% down to 90% in about 15 min. just using a IM Program. Do these phones have more drain with a theme installed. I know that blackberry's suffered from this problem.

View 1 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone have an issue where if they toggle GPS off using the power widget, then goes back to re-enable the GPS, the GPS doesn't quite work right. I saw this yesterday the GPS was all wacky and GN wouldn't lock but maps would. I restarted the phone, and it worked great. I see this from time to time.
