Motorola :: Rooted Droid Going Back To Verizon?
Jan 14, 2010I have a Droid that is rooted and I am to send it back after my replacement comes in the mail tomorrow.. I cannot access the boot recovery screen and the power button that puts the device to sleep has some sort of software glitch that requirers to press the power button numerous times to wake up the screen.. Otherwise the the device works fine.. I have managed to remove the SU .apk.. The only other changes I made while it has been rooted is to remove VVM, MP3 app and cooperate calander which are still hidden.. What do you think will be the outcome of this debaucle?

Aug 23, 2010So I switched to the 2.2 leak and decided to do the .sbf method to get 2.1 back because I thought 2.2 was a bit buggy for my tastes. Unfortunately, when I had gotten 2.1 back on my phone, I could not activate. It simply said it cannot do it. I tried switching back (again) to 2.2, same problem. Tried manual user activation via ##7762726, still nothing.

Jul 15, 2010This is my first android device and i'm loving it... but one thing that irks me is the use, or lack thereof, of the back button.
As I am navigating menus and options in the Settings, I cannot simply go back one menu using the back key. For example, if I go to Settings->Battery Manager->Battery Profile Options and want to go back to the Settings screen, I cannot.
Pushing the back button does nothing and I can only go back to the Settings menu by going Home, then re-entering.
Another quirk regarding the back button is when reading emails. Using a regular email account such as Hotmail, I cannot simply read an email and go back to the inbox using the button.
It makes navigating the phone very tedious.

May 11, 2010Currently I have an Eris with v3 Leak meaning I can't root. But my wife loves my phone so I plan on giving her mine and either getting another eris and rooting or a Moto Droid and rooting. I've been trying to read up on the Droid and the different ROMS available and have some questions.First I want to make a few things clear:
1. This IS NOT a phone comparison.
2. The Incredilble IS NOT an option since it can't be rooted and I don't want to spend $200 on it.
3. I'm looking for WELL INFORMED OPINIONS, if you don't have one keep moving there is nothing to see here.
To be fair I've obviously done a lot more reading on the Eris which is why I'm looking for well informed opinions from Droid owners that way I can make a well informed decision.
Motorola Droid X :: Can't Revert Back To Back Up - Stuck In Bootloop

I downloaded bootstrap and the first thing i did was create a nandroid back up for my x. then i proceeded to try and install tranquility rom. it got stuck in a bootloop. so when i rebooted into recovery it now goes for some reason to the droid stock recovery and i can't revert back to my back up. what do i do?!

Jul 19, 2010I'm finding that I'm using the back button A LOT whether browsing the web or just navigating the OS. It kind of sucks because the buttons on the droid x are well, really small, and sometimes hard to press because they are so narrow and flimsy feeling. And depending on how you are holding the phone, it could be a good bit of distance for your thumb to travel or I'm finding myself having to reposition the phone in my hands just to reach the back button, which you seem to need very frequently.
Anyone know of any kind of back 'swipe' implementation ? Like some software you can install that makes it if you swipe left to right on maybe the top bar it goes back?

May 31, 2010Well, it's being reported, however not confirmed that the Droid Incredible has finally been rooted.He's also reporting that he's OCed to 1.5GHz.What's more he's working on 2GHz.Good Lord, could you imagine?I've been saying that as of right now, based on personal preference, that a rooted Droid is the best option.But this will def start to sway opinions, including mine.

The adb commands were successfull. WHen I rebooted my droid it was bricked (well not really cause I did a Nandroid backup right before I did this) It was just frozen with the white Motorola logo. Perhaps I downloaded a bad 800 mhz evilboot8.img.

I did click on the shole updater but I never opened it up because I am a chickenshit and know my limitations. Sep 22, 2010I'm a bit noobish since this is my first Android phone, so please forgive me. I rooted my Droid X running 2.1 using the GUI program. I used Root Explorer to rename a few bloatware apps. I did not make any other changes, just installed Titanium Backup and used it to make a backup. To successfully install the OTA update to 2.2, what do I need to do? I read that I need to restore the bloatware. Do I also need to unroot first? I've also read in a couple places something about moving Superuser.apk from bin to xbin. Is that what I need to do to stay rooted in 2.2?

Feb 26, 2010Hey everyone. So a couple of weeks ago i took the plunge and rooted and haven't looked back. I wanted to get rid of my ipod for the gym seeing as i carry my phone anyway so i spent a few hours making playlist (i have over 20gb of music to go through) and used isyncr to put them on the droid. Great app by the way. Anyway so i tryed to pair my bluetooth headphones to the droid and it just scanned and never found the headphones. I tried like 20 times and yes i had the phone discoverable. So i had my Lt. at work try it on his android phone and the hooked right up. Is there something that could have happen in the root that messed up my bluetooth. Running sholes 2.0.6. Went to droid mod1 but it was killing my battery so i went back to sholes. Any help would be great.
