So i charged the extended battery, and unplugged it around 4Pm yesterday. I put it in the car dock to and from the Mann center last night, took some pics and played lightly online. forgot to plug it in before I went to bed last night, and now at 11am, im @ 15%.Do i have a battery drain app on here or something? Maybe it was my GPS? just noticed i forgot to turn that off after exiting the car?

View 15 Replies View RelatedI manually installed the FRG01B update yesterday. And since doing so, I have noticed a ridiculously steep drop in battery life. Do I need to be running FRG22? Is that available to download manually, if so? I also know that I don't have the version of Facebook that was causing battery drainage. ATK didn't seem to help at all (it might have even made it worse). Is there anything I can do to vastly improve battery life? It would be great if I could get the phone's battery to last at least 24 hours. I already uninstalled ATK, by the way.
View 15 Replies View RelatedI bought a HTC Desire on a week ago and love it. Only problem is tat the battery is dire. I found it lasts for about 4 hours then it's dead. I am not running any apps or Wi-Fi, GPS, syncing etc. I initialy put id down to me playing with the phone constantly for the 1st couple of days. However by the fith day the battery was still dying in 5 hours or sooner. I took the phone back suspecting a faulty handset or battery. Got a new phone and battery. Still have the same very poor 4 or 5 hour battery life. I have loaded 'Battery Graph' app and you can see there is almost a straight line going down losing 20% of power every hour!!!! This is even overnight when it's doing absolutely nothing. I have also loaded Advanced Task Killer and go tthat shutting down any errant apps every 30mins. Still no improvement in battery life. Any ideas what may be causing this? Neither of the batteries I have had have hologram stickers on them like my old Nokia did. Should the official batteries have hologram stickers?
View 49 Replies View RelatedAfter dealing with short battery life like many of you, sometimes only getting 4 hours after a full nights charging and the phone just sitting on my desk,i figured out how to make it go the full day, even with regular use of web and email/sms. For me, it was simply reducing the frequency of syncs between all the various social networks I'm part of. My setting used to be every hour for Facebook, Twitter, and the worst culprit, Flickr. i would notice the phone constantly getting warm to the touch even if it just laid on the desk. Since changing the frequency to manual refresh, my battery is still well over 60% by nights end. YMMV.

Turn On the phone at 13 o'clock, still in standby, at 21 o'clock the battery was at 55%. That is completely abnormal. I've installed the application "spare parts" and I see that in "Battery History" - "Other usage" it reported running 97%. So I Installed another program, "Drain-O-Meter", this brings me to the process "System_Server" which uses the CPU to 100%. The battery lasts me very little, maximum 24 hours in complete standby. Before we even did about 70 hours!

Using Tasker extends this even further, but even without a tasker profile today, I unplugged at 8am and at 4pm I was at 80 percent with moderate usage. This was after doing a full cycle charge last night. However, I'm greedy for more and I want to buy the extended battery but not sure where I can find it for a good price.

I also bought a new charger from asset for blackberrys because I lost mine and when it's conntected to that charger the touchscreen gets semi unresponsive. Should I return the charger? After re-boot the battery level went all the way up to 50% and with heavy MP3 play it is down to 40% after 2 hours of use. I'm running the 2.2 OTA sent by Verizon yesterday.Anyone else ever try a re-boot when the battery gets low? I found it very strange.

Maybe one that has two profiles, and accurately reads both. I'd also prefer percentages in all numbers, not just 10s, but not a deal breaker. Anything out there? The descriptions on the apps themselves are not very in-depth and don't want to keep installing and taking off.
View 3 Replies View Relatedi just bought the official extended battery for the Droid x off of the verizon online store. the battery worked fine for the first day i bought it and now it makes my phone randomly shut off when i am using it. i can use my phone for about 5 - 10 minutes before the battery causes it to shut off randomly. i have no idea why it does this because it says the battery is fully charged and i had it in the charger over night and it still does this. i feel like i have wasted 50$ on this battery and i cant even use it now. does any one know if there is a way i can fix this?

Checking battery usage, this is what I found: com.android.launcher - 46%, Beautiful Widget (just uninstalled) - 37%. I have never noticed these processes taking up so much battery. Background: I have been receiving a low storage notice so I deleted some apps, texts and pictures and plugged in for the night. The next morning the severe battery drain began. I was concerned about shorter battery life after the latest update so I have recently changed my settings to lower frequency for refreshing email, etc.

Display is always on lowest setting possible but battery usage for display is well over 50. Only lasting 8-12 hours. First 10% drains in 10 minutes. Wtf!!! Overclock widget hasn't helped. And haven't tried setcpu. No credit card. So does setcpu improve battery life dramatically? Never had a problem with battery life before rooted Froyo. Ne suggestions? We both let the battery run down completely before charging it up (which I was told by the Verizon rep was the "way to go"), and we have both been experiencing GOD AWFUL battery life. Strange battery behavior has included (but has not been limited to):
- Battery going from 100% to 5% after 5.5 hours straight of browsing, playing games, etc., followed by the Battery going from 100% to 5% after 5.5 hours of idle (with light texting and a few quick phone calls mixed in). Seemingly no consistency.
- Battery draining down to around 30% after about 8 hours off-charger with light to moderate use (a few web pages, a few apps downloaded, and about half a dozen texts). If this wasn't annoying enough, shortly after reaching 30%, the phone suddenly took a nosedive into the red, and warned me that I had 5% battery remaining.................

So if mAh is 2x higher than stock, it will last 2x as long, under same conditions. I did a mock-up of what it would be like with the "extended battery door", which is pretty close to what is pictures, and it felt easier to type using the hard keyboard.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have purchased the Seidio Extended life battery (2600mAh) about 1 week ago and i do not feel it is performing as expected.Here are the issues i am facing: 1.) The phone takes about 1 hour to report fully charged (similar to standard battery), but if i unplug the charger then re-insert, the battery charge is reported at 60%.When the battery reaches 100% again, i repeat the same process and this time the battery reports as 70%.This repeats until the battery is "actually" at 100%2.) The battery seems to drop charge irregularly, the first 10% is lost after a very short period of time (4 minutes on the last check!) 3.) Once the battery reports as being down to 20%, if i re-boot the phone, it then reports charge of 60% again and the process starts again.I have enclosed 2 attachments to support this information, the image file is a graph i pulled from an app called "Battery Graph", as you can see, the battery level does not drop on a smooth basis, if it was working correctly i would expect a smooth curve, not sharp drops.The second attachment is a zip file which contains an excel spreadsheet showing the full breakdown of the battery % drop during yesterday.
