View 7 RepliesI am currently rooted with 2.1 and have cyanogenmod installed. What is the most painless way to upgrade to 2.2? Should I install it manually and just boot my phone to 2.2? Also, if I do that will i loose all my text, apps, etc.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have just noticed a couple days ago that some of my sounds aren't working on my Droid X. Ringtones, alarms, notifications work. Audible touch tones, audible selection, keyboard typing and some other sounds in games are not working. Also, when rebooting the "droid" sound isn't playing (not sure if that was taken out with froyo.) About a week ago these sounds were all working so I know it wasn't the update that killed them. And yes I've looked and made sure that all the checks were selected for these sounds.
View 13 Replies View RelatedI updated to Froyo and everything worked great! Downloaded "Beautiful Widgets" from the Market successfully...no issues there...phone calls were great...and e-mail and text messaging just fine.
This was at about 5PM. I'm up late working on some projects now...and was on the phone talking to a friend and BAM service cut off and I assumed it was her since she was driving. Nope. It was me!
I then noticed that there's a big red sign representing no service at the top of the screen (Like a no smoking symbol)...and I can't do a damn thing. Lock screen also says "Searching for Service".
The Froyo update and what I'm experiencing here are close enough in time for me to point the finger at Froyo...but has anyone heard of this happening? I was enjoying it up until now!
On Friday I got my Froyo upgrade, and since then everything is fine except I discovered that when on calls I can no longer hear anything through the internal speaker... the only way to hear anything is by switching to speakerphone.
Any idea what has caused this? Is my hardware busted?
This is really annoying and concerning. Anyone having this problem and not using a task killer? Obviously phone on / off fixes, but worried about missing call.

View 26 Replies View RelatedHoping someone has a fix, ADB no longer sees my device after the update. If I turn off USB debugging everything works fine, the phone charges and the DX applet launches like normal. Turning on USB debugging kills everything, phone doesn't charge, applet doesn't launch & ADB doesn't find my device. I'm running Win 7 Ultimate 64-bit. Any ideas?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWith all the "froyo isn't working" or "froyo isn't installing" or glitch issues or whatever, i thought id start a thread about how it is working and my favorite features. I'm just updating to the newest leak, but froyo is awesome. When i first installed (CW) i lost root... i did another android and it has worked fine. I love BB but this base ROM is so fast, stable and fantastic... Ive had 2 FC's in 3 days, and no issues. Ive updated to the new baseband and it helped my signal issues... I'm running team chaos theme and i LOVE the black and white combo. I'm Daniel and Froyo is working great for me.

Heres a link to the .apk file, if you dont have it. It works with 2.1, but not 2.2 (force close every 5 seconds)
If someone could edit this to make it work thatd be amazing.
I upgraded to froyo and when I open the camcorder, it just opens and closes very fast. I restarted my phone and the camcorder was opening but after a minute it started closing again along with the camera. Anyone else?

View 19 Replies View RelatedI saved my ringtones to my SD card and mounted it to my Eris the first week I bought my phone. They worked great under notifications and ringtones. As of last week my notification sounds wouldn't change when I chose a different sound and then it'd stay on the very first ringtone I chose. Now, the ringtones I've set for notifications won't work at all. I can hear them when I test them out, but after I set it as my current sound I won't hear it when I get a text message or anything. I know others are having this problem. Does it have to do with the update you think? Maybe Android 2.0 will fix it.....
View 4 Replies View RelatedSince I installed the latest upgrade 2.1 (successfully), I lost the keypress sound which was very useful. I tried the Settings/Sound and Display/Audible touch tones menu, and the Language & Keyboard/ Sound on keypress menu, in both cases I selected "on" but still I don't hear the keyboard sound which I find very useful since I am partially sighted.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI had filed a similar issue about location services not working properly in emulator. However after I upgraded my droid phone to 2.2, I am finding that location services are not showing the correct location. Though the coordinates looks correct, it is showing my location as San Jose while I stay in Los Gatos. Therefore my local search query gives me result based on San Jose.

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy Desire was crashing, so I requested a replacement with O2 business. I upgraded to 2.2 last week using the software update link on the phone. Today I received my 'new' handset from O2 which still has 2.1-update1 as the firmware version. When I tried to upgrade I was informed there is no newer version. Spoke to O2 business, who told me that HTC had withdrawn it again. I'm kinda pleased that my 2.2 desire has been sent back, if there are serious enough issues with Froyo for it to be withdrawn. I did like a couple of things extra in the menu structures, but is it really that important?
View 29 Replies View RelatedGot my Desire just under a months ago. Had to return it for endless restarting & freezing 2 days ago. Got an unbranded replacement. Just did the O2 OTA upgrade and I notice I have no Market app. (I may be missing other things also, I don't know, since I'm a fairly new user).
View 6 Replies View RelatedI got my "dinc" in early August with 2.1 onboard and recieved the OTA froyo upgrade about two weeks ago. I like 2.2 (I think) but not all the battery-vampire crap-apps that came with it. I desparately want to root so that I can explore the full potential of this phone and hopefully find some options to extend my battery and get rid of the bloatware.
Unrevoked's website says v3.2 has been temporarily pulled and to use v2.2 "in the meantime". I've tried several of the methods that call for 3.2 using 2.2 and it seems to work up to the reboot step towards the end. Each time I get this "failed to flash recovery image" message. I've followed every detail of several videos and posts (including one from this forum) instructing how to root with Unrevoked, but the end result is always the same.
1. Can I use Unrevoked to root my phone with the froyo upgrade in place?
2. If so, how? Because what I've been trying ain't gettin' it done.
3. If not, is there a way to roll-back to 2.1 so that I can use Unrevoked?
4. Could the 2.2 version of Unrevoked be casuing my "failed flash" issue?

View 15 Replies View RelatedSo I upgraded to Froyo last night. Very nice update, amazing how fast this new version of android is. Along with some of the enhancements already mentioned, it seems the stock keyboard is much more accurate and I find my self not deleting so many letters.
View 2 Replies View RelatedReceived the upgrade from Telstra Australia today for my Desire. I'm not very good with the tech and software side of things (quite a dunce really) and have looked for a guide as to what to do prior to installing the update and also once completed. Is anyone able to steer me in the right direction as to where a good guide is or maybe a few pointers. My phone isn't rooted and is not something I want to gamble with being not techsavvy.
