Is anybody else having issues using the new winamp to stream music into your phone?I cannot seem to connect the phone to the PC or vice versa. Basically the last step is to hit 'start discovery' on the winamp program on the PC, then I should get a message on my phone to connect, but it doesn't do that.

Is there a way to stream music that is playing on your phone into Winamp? For instance, if using Pandora or Slacker radio and I have my computer headset on, I would like to listen to the music that is playing on my phone, on my computer. My media player of choice is Winamp.
View 5 Replies View Relatedtried usb debugging tried it off.. when i plug it in nothing will pop up that will say it is. it will charge.. but thats about it. it wont let me change from pc mode to mass storage.. upgraded drivers.. tried Motorola media link.. tried turning it off with the sd card unmounted.. tried removing the battery.. did a hard restore. i tried on 3 computers in my house. nothing seems to be working out. all i want to do is put a video from my phone to my pc.

View 4 Replies View RelatedHere's the deal. Downloaded Motorola Media Link. I open it up select connect so I can connect my Droid to my pc ofcourse. This is were the problem starts to occur. When I select connect it tells me 1 handset found being my droid. I do mount the phone from the notification bar and always end up with detection failed. I have the option to click here to learn more and all it tells me is make sure you mount your phone. Any suggestions.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI have a feeling my problem is the router and not my Droid, but I thoght I would try anyway.
I have 2 networks that I conenct to at my work. An open network and a secure one.
The open network, which has weak signal, I have no problem connecting to.
However, when I try to connect to the secure network, which i have great signal, I get "Disabled, secured with WPA/WPA2 PSK". I am positive I have the right password.
The strange part is I have had my Droid for less than 2 weeks. Before I had an Eris and would connect to that network everyday without any problems. But have never been able to connect with my Droid once I dont think anything has changed with that router, but i cant say for sure.
Any ideas as to why the Droid wont connect? Unfortunately, i dont have access to the routers settings. Unless I really had to, i can try to access it early in the morning
Looked around didn't see anything here, but when I hook my DX up to my computer through USB it will vibrate saying it was hooked in, but it will not charge or show up on my computer at all. What am I doing wrong?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have been rooted since February and up until i bought a new laptop everything has worked great when running adb commands. But one day, after I bought a new laptop, it would not recognize that my droid was connected. So I did some research and one solution I saw was to disable debugging, I did and that and it worked. But now I cannot run any adb commands(error: device not found). I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the usb drivers but still that didn't fix the problem.

View 11 Replies View RelatedYou are all likely going to laugh at this, and I admit, you have every right too. For the first time today I am trying to enable the wifi on my droid when I am at home and have been unable to get it to work.
I turned it on, connected it to my home Wifi, used the correct password, and it says it is connected, and has been assigned an IP addressed. However, it isn't connecting to any websites or anything else in any of the browsers.
I have tried both the native and dolphin.
I'm rooted and have loaded UD 1.0. I am now having a problem connecting to my exchange server. Same settings as before I rooted, but can't connect.

Also when I get a call the bluetooth button on the bottom left won't turn bluetooth on. I guess it just tells you if its connected but it really should turn it on and connect.

When I first got my X it allowed me to manually choose to connect to wifi but lately it just auto connects and I cant turn it off if im in a wifi area. This puts a huge drain on my battery. I'd prefer to have the OPTION to connect to wifi if/when i want to and to use the 3G network otherwise. Any idea how I can address this issue? (I did recently install Launcher Pro. Not sure if that has anything to do w/ it but figured id mention it)

View 2 Replies View RelatedAnyone have a problem connecting to a network with a hidden SSID? My wife can connect to our router fine with her Droid INc (wireless N router). But i can't unless i enable broadcasting the SSID. I found the hidden SSID enabler app, and going to try that. If that doesn't work does anyone else have any ideas? If i enable SSID broadcast i connect right away. If i disable it, i lose the connection and it is "out of range". Very annoying as i live in a condo unit with 10 other wifi networks in my range. Would like to keep my netwrok as private as possible.
View 17 Replies View RelatedSo, back in the day, when the first iPod Video came out, I thought it was about high time for me to join the whole "iRevolution" bandwagon. I mean, how cool would it be that I could FINALLY have a slick little device that I could put in my pocket and take with me everywhere which played ALL of my media? When it all first came out, such an idea was incredible, and I wanted to be a part of that. This was to be my first (and last) Apple device, and as such, I had never futzed around with iTunes ever before, because my media library was already well developed and existed even before the iPod's inception.
I have always been an avid Winamp user. It is, and always has been, a powerful, open-ended, lightweight and, for me, a familiar and simple-to-use program. As such, my entire media library consists of many many .m3u playlists and file formats ranging from everything from your typical mp3's, to wma's, too .ogg's and .flac's, all of which the mighty Android has no problems playing back whatsoever (which, in the case of the .flac and .ogg's was quite a pleasant surprise for me!). So, when I plugged in my iPod for the first time, I thought it would be just as easy as taking my root media folder and simply dragging and dropping the whole thing onto the device. Why shouldn't it be that simple? After all, this is Apple, the monarch of simplicity! So, I anxiously wait several hours while all my stuff copies over to the iPod, and finally when it finishes, I check it out, only to discover that NONE of my media is accessible on my iPod. Angry, and frustrated, I do some research which led me to discover that there was in fact nothing wrong with my iPod at all. The problem was that I absolutely needed to use iTunes to put all my media onto the device, AND I had to convert EVERYTHING over to the iTunes format. Really? Seriously!? When I discovered that iTunes estimated it would have taken at LEAST two weeks to perform a complete conversion of everything, assuming it went flawlessly, and without any interruptions or any other unforeseen issues, I decided F### THAT $###!!! I want my $300 back! And from that day forward, as if to avoid the plague, I have steered clear of owning ANYTHING with a lower case "i" in the front of it. Anyway, enough of a rant...
Long story short:
Is there some way to get .m3u playlists to work on the Captivate? I used to have a Nokia E71, and on that phone .m3u playlist importation/creation/recognition was breeze; just copy your files to your sdcard, load them up in Winamp, save a playlist file on the sdcard. 1, 2, 3, done! Now however, I find myself futzing around with tag editors, which although they work (sorta kinda), they're awkward and complicated compared to just creating a play list in Winamp, and clicking "Save Playlist."
There has to be some easier way....I'm using Winamp.
I know there is a dedicated section for apps, but they work different on each phone, so what are my fellow DHD users using.

Trying to connect a HTC Hero to my computer, it used to connect ok as i used to use the phone as a modem for my laptop, but now instead of the charger light coming on & charging and the little symbol saying it was connected in the top elft of the screen it ONLY charges the phone but the little symbol doesnt come up in the top left and i cant find the device on my computer, iv tried new cables etc but still no joy, any ideas?

I am at school right now and forgot the name of the file it needed, but I have no idea how to do this. I want to tether my phone to the computer with PDAnet but can't even get my phone connected to the computer. I also want to put music on the phone. I am on Windows XP. If you need more info, I can get it when I get home from school. Just hoping there is an easy step I am overlooking.
