Motorola Droid :: Anyway To Update Contact's Photos That Sync With Facebook
Nov 24, 2009So when you enter a new contact, if you have your facebook account synced, it will automatically put the contact's picture in there for you...BUT when someone updates their picture (as I know some have) it does not seem to update under my contacts. How do I fix this?

Jan 28, 2013Contact Sync for Facebook got an update to 1.0.2 which adds StartApp and stuff which can read/write your browser history/bookmarks, I failed to read the "what's new part" and didn't notice the new permissions for accessing of the browser history. Therefore I would like to go back to the version 1.0.1 but for some reason I can't find the APK to download somewhere.

"Contact-Sync" or "haxsync" do not do the job as it relies on simply joining contacts and display correctly for only one phone/rom. Problem is that the image is only linked on your phone but not really linked directly to google contacts.
Setting an image to a contact from a file appears to do the trick but there is no way that I know of to automatically set a facebook picture into google contacts.

Nov 24, 2013I have a Galaxy S4 and I synced all my contacts from Facebook with that of my phone. My idiotic sister logged out of my account without my permission, logged into hers and left it like that. Now my facebook account wont sync with my phone contacts again. Everytime i go to my contacts, tap on options and go to 'accounts' and select my facebook from the list of accounts i've added, the 'sync now' button works but when I click on it it says 'sync disabled'.
I went onto my FB app and looked for account sync options but I couldnt find any.

After facebook syncing on ICS, they now appear as two contacts in the People app. Is there a way to work around this, aside from changing my gmail contact name?
I'm on Pete Alfonso's Nexus S ROM and Ezekeel's Glados 2.6 CFS kernel.

Apr 3, 2013one can have multiple twitter, email etc. accounts on Android (running 4.1.2 on a Galaxy Note), but only one Facebook account. However, I have two of them and I need *both* their contacts sync'd to the contacts database (one is my "private" profile for close friends, the other is for work colleagues etc). Also, the built-in Facebook authentication has the same problem as the contact sync - I don't want to run games like Real Racing under my "public" FB profile.
Any way to make two FB profiles on one device? Maybe with something like a "virtualization"?

Jan 28, 2013Last week I purchased a new Note 2 (which I love!) and one of the first things I did was to sync with my Google account and get my Google contacts installed back on the phone. Second thing was to install the Facebook app and sync my Google contacts with their appropriate FB profile photos, account info from Facebook. However, upon telling Facebook to sync with currently existing contacts, I noticed that my Contacts list was now populated with *ALL* of my facebook friends.
Previously on my Evo 4G running Gingerbread 2.3.5, this worked perfectly. My Google contacts were the only contacts listed but their FB profile data showed up just fine. I seen there were some 3rd party apps on the Play Store that will do this, but I'm wondering if there is a way to do it with just the original FB app.

Apr 2, 2012Unhappy with Samsung's stock ICS version, I moved on to a CyanogenMod9 nightly build for my SGS2 - an admittedly risky thing to do on April 1st - which proves fantastically stable and fast.
However, when I installed the Facebook app, I found that the option to sync and merge contacts is gone. From the app, but also from the Accounts and Sync option in Android's settings. It still says "Facebook" under the accounts that I can add, but nothing happens when tapped.
I wiped and re-installed everything, but to no avail. The setting is no longer there and I cannot sync my Facebook contact details with my existing contact list.

Aug 20, 2012I have contact pictures for my contacts that I have chosen and assigned to my contacts manually and are stored as the Google contact picture, I have an issue with the facebook app when it syncs a facebook profile picture update the application forces the contacts default picture to be the facebook picture.
I don't want it to do this, it can change the facebook linked contact picture but why does it have to change the contacts default picture?? Is there some way this can be blocked or stopped from within Android contacts??
This has been prevalent since before I can remember with the facebook app and sync. Surely submitting a bug to facebook is not the solution as we SHOULD be able to control and/or lock portions of our contacts details..

I have lots of funny contact names because of the SKYPE nicknames. Also, some contacts are made from email handlers.
So to organize them nicely, I spent last few hours on my Gmail / Contact account, renaming, adding photos, merging etc... Except, that when I want to SYNC it. Not all of the contacts update, and some remain as they were.
I would trash them all and import new set from Gmail, but I'm worry that when I do that, it might trash my gmail contact as well
Also, is there any way to change the contact font size? I have many long names, and lots of contacts. The screen cuts most of the names off and many of the contacts share same name. I have to open the contact, to find out details in order to know who I'm looking for.

But is there a way to not sync all my friends on facebook to my contacts but still have it signed in on the EVO? I have too many people on facebook that don't have numbers so it gives me a million email addresses I don't need or even doubles some of my contacts.

Nov 11, 2010When I first received my Evo about a week ago, without doing any manual work my pre-existing contacts were synced with facebook. Facebook didn't add contacts, it just put a picture beside them and gave me some additional details on them, like birthdays and emails. Since, I've messed roms and the like, and have lost this. Now when I try and sync (even on the stock evo rom) it will only pick up a few of my contacts, about 10, and thats it. Not only that but their is an annoying little "f" facebook logo in the corner of their pictures too. Can anyone tell me how to get this to work again? Currently I'm running Myn's Warm, a sense rom, and going to settings > applications > facebook for sense > sync contacts.
Also, is there anyway to tell it not to add every single fricken birthday to my calendar as well? I didn't ask facebook to sync events and birthdays to my calanders, thats just too much going on.

My problem: I did not put off the sync feature for facebook and now my calender and my contacts are filled with hundreds of people i never interact with. and i somehow cannot erase all the hundreds of birthdays of those people in my calender. the only option i think is to do a Reset. does that delete all my contacts in my sim too? )
