View 5 RepliesI just moved from blackberry to android and I am having some issues with the calendar. My old calendar had individual pop ups for each event, the pop up allowed you to open/snooze/ or dismiss each item individually. Also my old calendar had no trouble syncing my gmail and facebook calendars. Android seems to have trouble doing this seemingly simple task. Is there an app or special calendar that can do this?

Can use the mobile web version but not the phone calendar so thus i am not getting reminders, etc. Already installed the google outlook calendar sync app but that is still not linking my gmail calendar to my phone.

View 17 Replies View RelatedHow can I clear my calendar and make it so it doesn't sync with Facebook?Basically I like how my phone syncs people in my phonebook to their facebook profile. I'd like it to put THEIR birthday on my calendar (if they exist in both my phone book and their facebook profile is linked and synced), however I don't want every single facebook contact to have their freaking birthday on my calendar.

View 14 Replies View RelatedI have an HTC Evo and am getting used to the Android system - this is my first smartphone too so please excuse my ignorance. I am a medical student and have a pretty crazy schedule and I have relied on google calendar for several years now to keep my schedule. I was excited to use it on my phone, but my problem is that it is syncing with facebook and uploading all these birthdays. Now, I don't want to sound like a jerk who doesn't care about my friends birthdays but I already check those through facebook - they are cluttering up my calendar and I want them off! I can't for the life of me figure out how to make it stop syncing with facebook and it could just be that I don't know where to go. I have looked under "Settings" within the calendar and haven't found it.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI do not have sync birthdays checked under my accounts. The Facebook birthday events have been added to "my calendar" events. I have even done a hard reset.
Seems like a syncing issue. I want to be able to use LPP agenda widget, but I can not customize which calendars to view. This has not happened on my Droid X or Incredible.
Has anyone else noticed that when you sync "my calendar" with facebook it duplicates birthdays? Sometimes even triples! I removed "my calendar" option in calendar, but now all the birthdays are gone --I want it to show birthdays just not duplicates of them!

View 2 Replies View RelatedEvery time i try to sync my calender under menu>accounts>gmail it sync my contacts and email fine, but when it gets to calender it says com.android.google cannot sync and there is nothing i can do to sync it. I cleared my data in all my calender apps and processes and it still wont work.

View 1 Replies View RelatedLOVE my new Droid... I'm a gal who never even learned to use the camera on any of my previous phones, just used them for phone calls, so this thing seems like MAGIC!
One thing will determine whether the Droid ends up being life-changing or just cool... I need to work out some calendar issues! Two calendar related questions:
1. Can anyone help me to resolve a sync problem? I'll try to explain my issue as clearly as I can... when I got my Droid, my Google calendar events magically showed up on the phone. Up until now, I only had a few personal things on my Google calendar. Since I'm now hoping to have only my work calendar on the phone, I went on my computer and deleted all events so I could start with a clean slate.
Calendar is now clear when checked on my computer and clear when checked on the browser on the Droid, but when I click on the calendar icon on the home screen of the Droid, all of the old calendar events are still there. To see if it just wasn't syncing, I tried adding an event on the Droid and on the computer, and both showed up. Just the old events won't go away. Anyone know what's up with that and how to resolve it?
2. I'm also interested to hear if Google calendar is buggy in general or has a lot of syncing issues. I'm using what my clients refer to as "the last Palm Pilot on earth" to schedule appointments and I live in fear of some horrible incident that would incapacitate both my Palm Pilot and the computer I sync it to (the girl's got issues, what can I say?). I got the Droid thinking that the solution to my problem would be using the calendar on the phone so it would back up to Google calendar and I'd have all my info safe and sound.
Now that I'm having an issue with the calendars not syncing properly, I'd worry that a scheduled or deleted event might not show up on the calendar, which would be a disaster in my line of work. Do any of you successfully use this calendar setup?
The calender sync feature puts in all future events but no past ones. This happens on both exchange and google calenders. The synch does not eliminate the past events on the exchange server on on my laptop google calender. My blackberry had a setting for this. I can not find a similar setting which allows me to retain the past events on the Droid.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have been getting the message 'as meeting organizer no response is required' in Outlook when people send me updates and I am not the meeting organizer. From reading around it seems it may be an issue with syncing the calendar which I have stopped but it did not fix the appointments.
I was looking for a way to do a one way sync or something but have not come across a way to do this in corporate sync. Not sure the issue but was hoping someone here may have seen the same issue. By the way email and contacts work just fine.
Is there a setting to sync tasks in the gmail calendar? i dont see it and dont know how to accomplish this. The calendar syncs fine but the tasks?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just got root access the other day, and i'm running the 2.1 ROM (build number ESE81 by Pete) that I got from ROM Manager.I've started to run into an annoyance that I didn't have before (or at least didn't notice)... It doesn't sync with the google calendar correctly.(similar, but not identical, thread here.)It seems to have duplicated all events on all calendars onto the primary calendar. I tried to simply delete the calendar (which actually just removes all events, since you can't really delete it). Even after sync, though, it doesn't delete what was deleted on the webapp. Interestingly enough, it does copy events that i add to the calendar webapp. This means that android sync sees the new events, but doesn't see that all the old events were deleted. Any ideas? I suppose this may just be a GCal bug, but my gut feeling is that it's because of the rooted ROM.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently got the droid x and relinquished my blackberry curve.I love this phone but I have one major problem.I am a psychologist, and use my X to schedule all of my appointments, and keep track of my clients.Because of legal issues and client privacy laws, I need to keep my phone from syncing my Google calendar to the internet.I can't have that information out there.I use Gmail for all of my email and contacts and such, but every time I turn off Google sync on my phone it syncs again the next day.I don't want to just kill all syncing, or I won't get my email anymore. Any ideas? I am also up for finding an "offline" calendar that has the same principals of Google calendar, but has no syncing ability.
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen I try to access my Calendar app, it tells me that I have not set up a calendar to sync. After going to the accounts page, and going to my google account, there are only options to sync my gmail and sync my contacts, but not my calendars.
View 6 Replies View RelatedDoes anybody know what system apk is responsible for syncing and updating contacts profile pictures and statuses from face book.I am 2.2 rooted, bloatware removed and I removed a couple others my self. But don't know what apk to re-install so my contacts automatically update. I used syncmypix but I am not a fan of it. I have downloaded both system apps zip files. I just don't know what I am looking for.
View 1 Replies View Relatedmy contacts have doubled since syncing with Facebook. There are some FB contacts I'd like to keep, and others I would like to delete. I plan on deleting those but don't want them to re-appear at a later date. Is there a way to turn off FB syncing after just the initial sync? I think that's my best option at this point.New here so thanks for the info in advance and I hope to get enough knowledge to help out on the forums soon.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI got the ota update last night and all my facebook contacts were deleted. I tried to reboot the phone, resync, and pulled up the app. When I opened the app it have the pics and thefacebook conact info, and that was it. Anyone else having this problem?
View 3 Replies View RelatedSo I've tried 2 builds so far Koush's vanilla build and the Sapphire build and I've run into the same problem on both: whenever I login to Facebook, I no longer get the option to sync contacts. I'm curious as to whether this is a problem I'm having exclusively, or if it's something other people are running into too, and if anyone has found a way to make it work.Options to sync don't exist at all for me. When I go to settings in the Facebook app it normally would show a menu option for syncing, but on 2.2 I get no option. And when I go to the Accounts menu selection in system settings, I can select Facebook as an account to add but I get bounced back to the accounts list without being able to actually add an account.
