I seem to remember changing the refresh rate for gmail, and now I'd like to change it back, but I can't figure out how to get to the screen that lets me select the refresh rate (5 min, 30 min, 1 hr, 2 hr, 4 hours or something like that).

Is anyone noticing no rhyme or reason as to when Gmail syncs? I'm getting a long delay sometimes. I am hooked up to WiFi at work, but have low cell signal in this area. I looked for a setting to change sync time but didn't find one.

View 5 Replies View Relatedim not an expert on how push email works, but my understanding is that gmail messages should appear on my phone without me having to refresh or manually sync the gmail app. for a reason unknown to me, sometimes this works and sometimes it doesnt. at night, i shut down wifi and the mobile network to conserve battery and start up the mobile network when i leave for work in the morning. i get notification of new yahoo email, thru the htc widget, almost instantaneously, yet gmail doesnt come thru until i manually sync the gmail app. then during the course of the day, sometimes gmail messages get pushed right thru and other times not at all until i manually sync the app. meanwhile my yahoo mail comes thru flawlessly.
considering gmail is supposed to push and the htc widget does not, this is the opposite of what i expect. as far as settings, i have auto sync enabled for both the device and for the gmail app. while i always assume user error until proven otherwise, in this instance i think i have all the correct settings, which makes sense considering sometimes gmail does get pushed. its just erratic and unpredictable. anybody got any ideas what's going on here?
I have Google Voice now and have the App installed on my phone. I have the refresh rate set for every five mins but it wont refresh.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been using admob for three months now..i have 12 android apps requesting ads from admob...2 of them from amazon app store (added last week)..others from google play.The problem is that since about 4 or 5 days i can't make any write changes to my account...this includes
1.cant change refresh rate..
2.cant add new apps..
3.cant modify the market url for existing app(for my new apps from amazon store,which has the same package as another app from google play.For admob it should be like same app requesting 2 ads..is that a problem?)
4.cant change colour of ads.that's all I have checked until now..When I try any of these,i simply gets logged out from admob..then i will have to login once again..
There is no problem with reporting and revenue updates.I have tried from Chrome and IE.
Also,i would like to point out a change in admob login..Earlier I could login to Google with another 'Google id' while logged in to admob..But now it seems they are connected. Logging out of Google logs me out off admob too..
I know that the default is 30 minutes, however I am looking at making a game in a widget.This would require millisecond responses.... has anyone messed with the AlarmClock Timing that is described to use instead to achieve this? does it work well?I haven't finished the Software Arc for the project yet because I see a lot of complaints about this on the net, so need to know if this is feasable before I go for the adventure... but the game would consist of a large widget size of one screen... many areas to click on and interact with and multiple textured animations
Looks like I can draw to a canvas and then pop it up to the bitmap to do this... but that still confuses me a bit.but I am struggling with the concepts of this code having an ID for the canvas and how to use that so I have not been able to test this code(I am a experienced c/c++/c#/dx/opengl coder first time with android and java)
Seems I just lost all my phonebook... the only reason I think it could have happened is because I cleared data regarding my google sync adress? Is this the case? There was a message mentionning i would lose data if I do so, but why is my phonebook that is normally on my sim card disappeared since I re adjusted google sync? This is ridiculous, lost years of contacts... please tell me there is a way to get my phonebook back... and that there is no link with what I did with Google sync...

I haven't synced my contacts to Gmail since January because I found the way it would garble them all up annoying. But I got the OTA on my phone & wanted to make sure they're backed up before I go ahead w/the installation. Problem is, it has been acting like it's syncing for over 12 hours now & all it's doing is draining my battery. It still shows that it hasn't been synced since January. Also, periodically during the sync attempts, the "too many contacts deletes" notification pops up. I always tell it to delete everything. And it's odd that one time it'll say 505 deletes & the next time it'll say 502 deletes & it keeps getting less. I don't get it. need to back up my contacts before I install 2.1 right?

They are not showing up in my notification nar at this time (after refresh) either. I really like that bar too! Also, the data sycnronizing or connected HTC Sync icon (right by the gps and 3g icons) keeps coming on and off every few seconds. Is this normal? While I'm at it, the 3g icon's arrows (up and down) do the same thing all the time.I'm a yahoo guy and setup my gmail to import my yahoo, now all day it hasn't been when refreshing, etc. Gmail issues today perhaps? I think from all of my reading on here and messing with the phone I did something perhaps?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using handcent for my sms. i think it is great, i can customize it heaps how i want it. however there is an option for changing the colour/rate of the LED blink light for when i get a text, however no matter what i pick it never changes. the little light at the top always blinks every 4-5 seconds in a green colour when i have a new message, however i would love for it to blink blue every second (as i have tried to set it) so that i can differentiate the notifications from reminders and other notifications. is this a problem with the phone not doing wat it is supposed to, or the application isnt working? or a combination, maybe the desire doesnt have any other colours for its LED light?

I logged in to my gmail and needed to send email and it wouldn't suggest contacts anymore. I went into contacts and all of them gone except the ones that only had email field filled in. The groups that i created are there but no contacts.
I went into my phone and google contacts are there but they won't sync, errors out with "sync is temporary down".
All this creates another problem for me, I have phone contacts and google contacts in my Eris. Phone contact are synced to PC and all is good but I need my google contact in my gmail so I can email people and I have no way of putting them back to gmail and don't even know how to back them up.
I have xtrROM 4.0.4 installed and its working great. I do have an issue with my Gmail coming in late though. I had a reminder from my Google calendar yesterday at 1pm, and I got the email for it today @ 4:30pm. I saw when 4.0.6.1 came out it said on a post here "fixes the Gmail Sync issue". Is this the issue I'm seeing? Since I have everything running how I want, is it worth upgrading to 4.0.6.1? Do I have to do a full wipe and reinstall everything? Or can I flash right on top (after a NAND backup of course)?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI've read that BLUR refreshes all the info it needs for it's social widgets every 15 minutes even if you don't have any widgets placed on your home screen. I'm thinking about buying a Cliq but the fact that BLUR is a battery killer turns me off since the main reason I want to upgrade from my G1 is to have a phone with a keyboard that has better battery life. Is there any way to turn this "Auto refresh" feature off or at least make it longer than every 15 minutes? Even better are there any BLURless roms out there? has any1 tried deleting the BLUR widgets apk? would that make it so it doesnt have to "refresh"? having more memory available from being BLURless is just icing on the cake what really matters to me is battery life.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am having some difficulties getting my emails. I have my Hotmail account linked to my phone. When I first got the phone, email came lickety split. I have downloaded 17 apps (or widgets, whichever you prefer). Now I don't get any email at all unless I refresh my inbox on my Eris. They have been up to a day old when I decide to try refreshing my inbox and, what do you know, they all pop up! My oh-so-famous "enable always-on mobile data" box is checked.
Is there any way to search for a program by typing in its name?
I just flashed xtrROm...and have the following issues:
1. Some random contacts from my gmail account do NOT synch to the phone. No rhyme or reason - just a handfull of contacts are NOT on the phone. I can't make a connection to "Groups", with/without an e-mail or phone#, etc. It just seems completely random.
2. Battery life is horriible. I'm talking about draining to nothing in a few hours (This is a separate issue I will look into). Regarding gmail contacts, it seems that it is constantly doing a Contact Sync - and DOES NOT STOP.
If I wanted to change the password for the account synced with the Droid, what would I have to do to make that work?
Also, what would happen if I just changed it from the web interface?
