I'm a newbie to the android forums and I have one burning question.i have my .mac email account connected and I can't seem to select any text in my emails.i think I have tried everything but nothing works.am I missing something? does droid x not allow you to select text in an email?

This might just be me being picky, but... after the update yesterday, when I go to select multiple contacts to send a text to it now gives a list of EVERYONE in my phone book and facebook friends listing their home/email/cell phone numbers all individually, which caused the list to go from about 50 names to scroll through to over 300. Now before the update when I went to select multiple contacts to send a text to it was just the list of the people who's phone numbers I have in my phone. (BTW, this is the stock messaging feature, not an app or any of that). I've looked for hours for a setting to only show phone numbers and not to show facebook contacts in the text selection but no luck at all. Can you guys help a semi tech savvy guy out here?

(As per user interface, I select an item from The spinner in one activity and send it as text msg.) The coding for text msg is done in another activity i.e the second activity.I m successfully able to select the desired item from the Spinner but am not able to pass it as text message. to select the item from first activity. It functions well BUT HOW DO I CAPTURE/RECEIVE THIS In the second activity that will send it as a text message.

Right now, the only way I can figure out to avoid it is to delete my email account from my phone. Most of my email is garbage so I don't need to hear a sound everytime a spam mail comes through. View 3 Replies View RelatedI've had this happen to me twice now over the past week. It seems that periodically my notification sounds will stop. I will see that I have new emails but never heard the sound. I will then go send myself a test text message and it will vibrate but make no sound. I've made sure all my volumes are up, and even went in to pick a notification sound and it will work fine in the sound chooser when I pick it.
I also noticed both times that it did this if I go in to Spare Parts or Battery History and look my phone is staying awake and Android Usage is the one with the partial wake lock. Generally I don't have any sleep issues, it only happens when my notification sounds have also quit working. The only way to fix it is power off and back on and then all is good again.
Can u receive emails notifications that pertain to a text message u just recently received? Whether its sms, or mms? Some people would wonder why I would want an email for all my text message. Received but I have my reasons for asking. Has anyone attempted to do this? If so, How?

I have tried different profile applications but it looks like they just generically turn off "notifications" which looks like both email and SMS notifications. I know I can go in and manually silence the email and the other notifications each time but I wanted to find an easier way. I get important SMS messages from work at all hours but thats all I want to hear.

How do I delete applications I downloaded I don't want anymore
I try to select just a certain part of a message I've received, and it seems the only way to copy anything is with a long press in the text field. Unfortunately the only option for copying is copy message and not selected text. I was able to select certain text and copy only it in the browser, but not in SMS/MMS (sometimes I need to copy an address or query). Does anyone know how to change this so I can copy only selected text (partial message)?

I have searched and haven't been able to find any threads with one of my issues, so I apologize in advance if I missed one. Anyways, my DX has been working flawlessly since I got it back on 10/6. Sunday, 10/31, my DX quit syncing just my corporate Exchange 2003 emails, then yesterday it started not sending emails as well and now, this morning, it quit syncing my personal email. Corporate email will sync manually, just not push. I have rebooted several times, pulled the battery several times, and also deleted both my Exchange account and my personal account and re-added both and the problem still persists. I don't have any task killer apps installed and haven't recently added any apps since the issues started. Anyone have an idea what may be causing the lack of push (in and out) on both of my accounts?

Well, i have putted to be notified in 1 hour if i have new emails the problem is the phone didn't check the emails and didn't have the notifications. only if i enter on the "Mail" application i have the new emails.. if i didn't enter, this didn't check the emails. What is the problem?. I have APN droid installed and i have deactivated the 3g 2g gaps. But i have configuration the WIFI to stay connected always.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just pulled the battery to do a reset last night after a lockup and today I'm getting notifications everytime I get a new email. it never used to do this and i figured it was just cause I didn't use the gmail. now I'm thinking that it just might be one of the background tasks that I was always killing. I recently switched to home++ and I didn't use the built in task killer all day. so I guess my question is, does anyone know which background task would control this so I don't kill it? also, is there a place to go in the settings to change the led color for email alerts?

I have added both the sender and the senders domain to the list using Windows Live Mail Beta. These emails are still getting through to my Droid X. First, there are no option on the phone to block emails is there? And secondly, there is not an option to add emails to any junk folder on the phone either that I have found. Anyone else having this problem? I've tried both adding my email accounts through Corporate (for hotmail/msn) and the email option on the phone.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo the past month or two, my Eris has been randomly highlighting/selecting icons, shifting from the home screen all the way to the screen on the left, and moving the cursor around as I type, making it difficult to text or search.
I did some reading from other people that had the same issue and others replied saying it had to do with the trackball. I have had my phone replaced three times and all have the same issue.
When I try sending a text to an email via handcent, it doesn't show to text.My mom sends me texts via email when shes at work and I'm not able to respond unless I use the native android text app.Does anyone know how to fix this problem, or is this just not possible with handcent?
