1) How can I set the phone to NOT make sounds between certain hours?
2) How can I set different notification tones for txt vs. email? ..or better yet, txt v. POP email v. Gmail?

My SMS/Email notification sound sound seems to be very quiet. Sometimes I just don't hear it. How can I increase the audio for SMS/email notifications please?
View 4 Replies View RelatedThis seems to be because of 2.2, it didn't do it before the update. I have it set to "face book pop" but after awhile it goes back to "droid". It's not that big a deal but it sure is annoying. That "droid" tone was neat for like five minutes then got on my nerves so I changed to the more subdued noise. I wonder if anyone else is having this issue or maybe I'm doing something wrong.
View 6 Replies View RelatedIncoming texts (not using handcent) in the notification bar are 4 hours behind. When I click the text the time is correct once the text app launches, but the notification time is always off by 4 hours. I saw someone mention an offset??? Where is that and is that only for Handcent? Will that affect the time in the actual text app? Because that time is right.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI picked up my Droid X this morning and coming from my old Storm I'm really liking it. My only real complaint is that the volume of the ringer is way to low. I've already turned it up all of the way in settings but is there an app or something that could make it any louder? I use my phone as an alarm clock and I'm a fairly heavy sleeper so this is almost a make or break feature.

Well, i have putted to be notified in 1 hour if i have new emails the problem is the phone didn't check the emails and didn't have the notifications. only if i enter on the "Mail" application i have the new emails.. if i didn't enter, this didn't check the emails. What is the problem?. I have APN droid installed and i have deactivated the 3g 2g gaps. But i have configuration the WIFI to stay connected always.

View 6 Replies View RelatedOver the past week or 2, several times now, I'll get a series of email notifications (sometimes as many as 10 or so, a few seconds apart), but then there won't be any messages. I'll check later, but still nothing.
I have a POP, gmail and an exchange account.
I'll also sometimes have POP email keep coming back, sometimes 5+ times, after deleting it every time. It may be 30 minutes later, or hours later.
Sometimes it will be 3 hours between when my email arrives in outlook on my pc and when the droid decides to pick it up (even though i press the refesh button for the email on the droid). when it does come in, it records the time the email should have come in. however, sometimes emails will come in within 1-2 minutes of when they hit my outlook box on my pc. my settings are set to recevie new email every 5 minutes.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI got the X synced with my Exchange server just fine. The problem is that I'm not getting a notification whenever I get a new email. I have to go into the Email app to see if anythings come through. I have it set to give me an audible alert and that's not working either. This will be a real deal breaker if I can't get it fixed.
View 12 Replies View RelatedNot sure if this is a Droid-specific question, but here goes. Right now I have the device set to alert me when it gets, say, an email. The problem is, it will only alert me to the first email, and if I do not check it, it will not alert me for subsequent emails. While I realize the rationale behind this, I really like how my BB tells me every time I get an email. Anyone have an idea on how to enable this?
View 2 Replies View Relatedso i am using the stock android email app and recently whenever i delete an email and exit from the application i get a notification that i have a new email, but when i go back into the email application there is no new email. i have tested it out and say i delete 3 emails, i will receive a notification saying that i have 3 new emails. the notification will always show the number of emails i have just deleted even though there are no new emails. the emails do not reappear like other people have problems with. i think my phones just playin mind games with me
just wondering if anyone else had this issue and if k9 email could fix this.
ps: it is an aol email account, if that matters
I want to have all notifications play a sound except email. Is this possible?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen you get a new email, is there a way to show on the notification bar that you have a "New Email" WITHOUT showing a preview of it? The reason I ask is because I use App Protector to make my email private but it still shows a brief preview when a new email arrives. I still want to be notified when there is a new email and have the blinking notification light. I thought about asking here before emailing the developer for that particular app.
View 9 Replies View RelatedWhen I get a new email on gmail, I pull down the notification drop down, select the email then view the email, and out of habit or ease of use, I hit the home button ...because it just makes sense that if I don't need to respond that I want to go back to the home screen directly. Why in the hell does the stupid notification not go away until I check the email 2 times.the only way the notification goes away is if when I select the email to check, I have to hit the back button which takes me back to the email list then either hit back again or home.

I "upgraded" from 2.1 to 2.2 and Now I cant distinguish my Email notifications from my text notifications. I used to via gmail with 2.1 but now its only using my text notifications.

(I guess more realistically - as soon as it's started and Matt is able to get the thread updated - but I've got faith in 'ol Matt!) You do have to be a member there to subscribe.
For those of you not looking to sign up there - you can subscribe to THIS thread for instant email notification if you'd like. As soon as I get his email - I'll repost it here saying so. Yes, the notice will be a hair behind the very instant it is released, but with any luck not too behind. I will delete this thread after the update is complete. I use my verizon email on my droid, and would like to know how to turn off the notification sound. It will tell me that I have new email; if I don't read or delete all the new ones, it will keep reminding me every minute or so. Is there a way to turn of this notification sound? I have tried everything.

View 2 Replies View RelatedIts not really a problem then an annoyance..does anyone know how I can make it so that when I receive a txt or an email and I open it in another way then the notification bar that my droid notification led will stop blink and the notifications will disappear from the disappearing notification bar? I'm just try to stop the fact that I have to go into LPP settings, make my bar re-appear, erase notifications, then make it so the bar disappears again.

View 1 Replies View RelatedJust wondering if anyone else was having this issue or may know what could be causing it. Recently all my alerts in the notification area have their times off by 5 hours. For example it is now 8:22PM my time, if I were to get a text message now the alert would have a time of 3:22PM. The other strange thing about it is that when I view the text message inside the text messaging application the time is correct. I just noticed this problem the other day, but it's possible it began when I updated to 2.2 the earlier in the week. Any ideas?

While looking at You Tube videos it pops up i reply and when i go back to my video its just blank will not restart or anything else i have to hit back and click on the vid from the start. Its just annoying. Anyone know a work around this. I am Rooted i also have Tasker (but not that good where i can figure out how to do this) Does this happen to everyone is this just the network not being able to handle text and data at the same time. It worked fine on my old iphone.
