People keep asking me to repeat myself on speakerphone, they tell me I sound muffled or low as opposed to other phones I have used. Is anyone else having problems with this? It's very annoying being that I use my speakerphone daily.

I just bought my Motorola Droid on Tuesday. Took it back on Thursday. People said I sounded muted, muffled, or in a tunnel. They gave me a brand new Droid and it is doing the same thing. When I am using my bluetooth, my fiancé can hear me perfectly. I love the Droid and this seems to be the only issue.

I then actually called myself with another phone and realized that I can't hear myself at all when I set the phone to speaker mode! When I turn off speakerphone and talk into the mic the voice is loud and clear, but the moment I turn it on boom the other end hears nothing.

Even if I hold the speaker directly in front of my mouth it sounds the same way. Is this the way you sound on a droid or is there something I can do to clear it up.

Which I can deal with; what I'm looking for is a mod or app that will allow me to play my music, videos, and any streaming media via the speakerphone speaker as well. Currently, none of the individual apps allow for an option to do this.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have really enjoyed everything about the Droid in the 5 days I've had it, except call quality. I switched from an iPhone 3G and the droid can do everything my iPhone could and more, and then I placed a phone call.
My phone was updated to 2.0.1 right at the Verizon store. I left, made a call, and am now regretting leaving my iPhone. I get horrible choppiness, static, and muffled voice on my end. On the other end everyone I call can hear me great. I have tried the *228 options 1 and 2, changing to evrc-b(or whatever it was called) and 13k, privacy off, basically every setting i could find.
Went to the Verizon store, the saleswoman said it was normal and that all phones do that. I laughed, said I was gonna quit this "awesome network" and go back to "crap" AT&T, then they exchanged the phone no problem. Of course this fixed nothing and here I am making phone calls and repeating, "what did you say?" until I can make out some words.
Don't get me wrong, I like Verizon and I've had them before and I never had any issues with call quality, which brings me to believe it's strictly the phone. I may have gotten the occasional dropped call on the iPhone(once a week at most) but at least my calls were all clear.
I swear my speakerphone has gotten much much lower in volume lately and I can't do anything to turn it up. I can play media on the speakerphone and it's loud but even if I turn the volume up all the way during a call it's much quieter, anyone else experience this? It seems like it used to be very loud on speakerphone during a call and now it's very quiet.

It's a little app that automatically enables the speakerphone for all incoming and outgoing calls when your droid is in the cardock. For anyone that doesn't use bluetooth, and doesn't want to remove the phone from the dock for a 10 second call, this is a nice app to have.
i hate having to press the speakerphone button every time your on a call. is there anyway to leave it on so you dont have to press it EVERYTIME?

PITA to place calls, or get them, and always have to turn off speakerphone button. Anyone know why or how to stop it? I cannot say for sure it is 2.1 issue but that is newest change I recall.

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy first question is about the car dock. I am in California and we have a hands free law. I cannot stand wearing the stupid little ear pieces. Right now, I am using my Garmin Zumo GPS as a hands free device. The Zumo syncs BT with my Blackberry and the Zumo cradle has a mic, so I don't need a ear piece. The output is sent through my truck speakers with a tape deck adapter. Works great. My question is this - If I have the phone in the car dock, can I use it is in the same fashion as the Garmin, minus the BT sync of course? Will I be able to make speakerphone calls while in the cradle and port the sound through the tape deck adapter?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have an older Motorola T305 Bluetooth Car Speakerphone that I use in the rare event I need to take a call in the car. I've successfully paired the Incredible and I can dial on the phone itself and use the adapter for the most part.
What I can't figure out is how to get the phone to go to voice prompts when I press the "talk" button on the T305. I have had this unit paired with "dumb" phones aplenty - everything from an older RAZR, an LG ENV2 to a Moto W755. With every other phone, when I hit this button, I get a voice prompt that says "Please say a command". At that point I can either say "call" or "dial", but that doesn't seem to be the case with this phone.
Is there any app I need to run, or is this just a setting on the phone that I'm missing? Perhaps I just need a newer Bluetooth car adapter, not sure.
Anyone who is using the Motorola T325 with the Evo 4g. I have paired my phone with it and calls are nice and clear but from my understanding it's supposed to play my music from my phone as well via bluetooth. Maybe i heard wrong or something but is there anyone who can confirm or shed some light on this matter?

I don't go a day without using it and I'm still trying to get everything customized to my liking. However I have had one issue since I received my phone. I seem to be hanging up on people with my face or either my phone is dropping calls like crazy. I took it in to the verizon store and the lady there had no idea what to do. My phone calls just end mid conversation with someone and I don't know if it's my face or if my droid x is dropping calls. It doesn't say anything like "call was lost" like it did on my old phone.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to get a sense of how many people have encountered an issue with their Droid's screen not working, though everything else on the phone is apparently fine. It's happened to me a few times, and the screen won't show any picture, but the touch sensor & haptic feedback are all still working, and the phone has connectivity because it receives messages & calls. The weirdest thing is, it will come back after a period of time & work perfectly as if nothing ever happened.I've see a number of other threads on the forum that indicate a similar problem, so I'm trying to get some sort of sense as to how many people have experienced this. It seems like there's a design flaw in the Droid, because it doesn't seem to be caused by actual hardware damage since the screen will come back on & look perfectly normal.So, if you've experienced this issue please post here, or if you've found a thread on this please post the link.

Other than that, my phone is perfect. I would hate to have to go through a refurb. I was wondering if it was possibly a software issue.
