HTC Incredible :: Motorola T305 BT Car Speakerphone
May 18, 2010
I have an older Motorola T305 Bluetooth Car Speakerphone that I use in the rare event I need to take a call in the car. I've successfully paired the Incredible and I can dial on the phone itself and use the adapter for the most part.
What I can't figure out is how to get the phone to go to voice prompts when I press the "talk" button on the T305. I have had this unit paired with "dumb" phones aplenty - everything from an older RAZR, an LG ENV2 to a Moto W755. With every other phone, when I hit this button, I get a voice prompt that says "Please say a command". At that point I can either say "call" or "dial", but that doesn't seem to be the case with this phone.
Is there any app I need to run, or is this just a setting on the phone that I'm missing? Perhaps I just need a newer Bluetooth car adapter, not sure.

It was working a few days ago. I try and hit speaker in-call and it say Speaker is ON but not working. How do I get it to work again? I have been getting calls from people but they can't hear me and my phone keeps d/c'ing them. I hear them but they don't hear me. What happened? The following apps are on my phone
Task Manager
Advanced Task Killer Pro
Star Maps
SetCPU
Power Manager
Slacker
Pandora
ColorNote
Battery Left
Jewel Lust Lite
Update: I turned my phone off and On again and it works. This is the second time this happened. The thing I usually do is when I charge my Phone I turn it completely off. Then I unplug it and plug it back in 2-3 times in the morning for the Full Charge. Then I turn it on and go to Task Manager or ATK Pro and kill all Apps. Bad or good?

Bought a Jabra Cruiser Bluetooth speakerphone for the car. It is supposed to announce caller name from phonebook. If it can't access the phonebook it announces the number. It is paired and connected to the Dinc and only announces the number...indicating it is not able to access the phonebook. Just wondering if there's something going on with the bluetooth stack in the Inc.

Here's something most of you probably haven't noticed about your incredible. If you take off the back cover and look to the right of the speakerphone, there's a little red rubber "plug"/cover that comes out, leaving a hole. Removing the plug messes up the acoustics of the speakerphone very much (and makes the phone shake like crazy when loud music is played). It's not important, but I was curious if anyone knew if there was a design reason for this / why you would ever want to remove it.

Anyone who is using the Motorola T325 with the Evo 4g. I have paired my phone with it and calls are nice and clear but from my understanding it's supposed to play my music from my phone as well via bluetooth. Maybe i heard wrong or something but is there anyone who can confirm or shed some light on this matter?

I swear my speakerphone has gotten much much lower in volume lately and I can't do anything to turn it up. I can play media on the speakerphone and it's loud but even if I turn the volume up all the way during a call it's much quieter, anyone else experience this? It seems like it used to be very loud on speakerphone during a call and now it's very quiet.

I have seen people asking about something like this, and I figured I would share it since it is something I have found to be pretty useful.
Car Dock Speakerphone by Everysoft
It's a little app that automatically enables the speakerphone for all incoming and outgoing calls when your droid is in the cardock. For anyone that doesn't use bluetooth, and doesn't want to remove the phone from the dock for a 10 second call, this is a nice app to have.

So I just found out that when I'm on speakerphone, people can't hear me. I then actually called myself with another phone and realized that I can't hear myself at all when I set the phone to speaker mode! When I turn off speakerphone and talk into the mic the voice is loud and clear, but the moment I turn it on boom the other end hears nothing.

ever since 2.1 I have noticed all outgoing calls turn on speakerphone by default - and in coming also trigger speakerphone. PITA to place calls, or get them, and always have to turn off speakerphone button. Anyone know why or how to stop it? I cannot say for sure it is 2.1 issue but that is newest change I recall.

Callers can hear me but I can't hear them - UNLESS the speakerphone is turned on. Could this be a mechanical problem with the ear speaker?

Whenever I use the speakerphone, it eventually turns the screen off. Fine. But there are times when I want to take it back off speakerphone, so I need to see my screen. But, if I press the power button to turn the screen back on it hangs up the call.

My first question is about the car dock. I am in California and we have a hands free law. I cannot stand wearing the stupid little ear pieces. Right now, I am using my Garmin Zumo GPS as a hands free device. The Zumo syncs BT with my Blackberry and the Zumo cradle has a mic, so I don't need a ear piece. The output is sent through my truck speakers with a tape deck adapter. Works great. My question is this - If I have the phone in the car dock, can I use it is in the same fashion as the Garmin, minus the BT sync of course? Will I be able to make speakerphone calls while in the cradle and port the sound through the tape deck adapter?

People keep asking me to repeat myself on speakerphone, they tell me I sound muffled or low as opposed to other phones I have used. Is anyone else having problems with this? It's very annoying being that I use my speakerphone daily.

The speakerphone icon is on at the top and it won't go away. I use the speakerphone every once in a while when i'm on the phone, but not always. I tried turning the speaker phone on then off when I was on the phone, but it didn't make the icon go away. I can't find any settings to make it go away either.

Is there an app that automatically switches from speakerphone to ear piece based on the proximity detector?
I think it would be useful if there was an app that starts when in phone mode, and detects when the phone is being held to my ear and automatically switches from speaker to ear piece and back as the screen turns off or on based on the proximity detector.
With the more and more frequent state laws on hands free cell phone use while driving, something like this could be quite useful. I, for one would be willing to pay for something like this

Just got my desire a couple of days ago. When I was on a call yesterday I must have moved my face away from the phone slightly and it switched itself to speakerphone! Either that or perhaps the phone didn't detect it was next to my face so the touchscreen still worked? Is there a way to disable the speakerphone (I never use this function) so that this doesn't happen again? I can't see anything obvious in settings.

This is a really weird deal. A friend of mine got an Epic about the same time I did, and we talked a lot, with both of us using speakerphone, and it sounded great. But at some point it started messing up, when both of us were on speakerphone. We get this really loud chirping sound, that goes away, if one of us turns speaker phone off. My friend also has this problem when talking to his wife, who also has an Epic. I don't experience any problems using speakerphone during any other calls, nor does he, unless they are Epic to Epic with both parties using speaker phone. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this odd behavior with their Epic? And if you haven't please try to test this out, with anyone else that has an Epic. At this point tech support doesn't have any other feedback, so I'm alone in the woods on this one.

First, whenever I make or receive a call the speaker on message appears and my phone calls all are on speaker. I can't seem to fix that, I looked in settings but can't figure out what happened and how to fix.
Secondly, for some reason when I am in a program and hit the "home" icon my Evo no longer opens the home menu and allows me to go to other programs on my home screen. I am forced to hit the back arrow on the phone which is annoying. So if I am browsing like 10 web pages I have to go back to the first page to the first page I opened of the internet , then it allows me to press the "home" icon. very inconvenient...
Please tell me what I did wrong, i don't recall hitting any buttons to change these settings.

I have an Atrix 4G, but my internal speaker is blown...I have to use the speakerphone speaker in calls. Which I can deal with; what I'm looking for is a mod or app that will allow me to play my music, videos, and any streaming media via the speakerphone speaker as well. Currently, none of the individual apps allow for an option to do this.

I have the Eris and I signed up for the Visual Voicemail through the widget (?) on the home screen. When I listen to my voicemails, they play through the speakerphone.I have tried to turn off the speakerphone by pushing the menu button when I am in Visual VM.I looked in options and preferences and can't find a way to set the phone so the voicemail doesn't play for everyone to hear.Any ideas? Also, what exactly are the benefits of paying an extra $2.99 a month for this service?

I am looking at android phones for me and my family. Kids like the Moment. Was wondering how the call quality and speakerphone is? DH will use it for lots of meetings, sometimes on the road, so this is very important.
Are we better off with a different android phone for him for call quality? Anyone know if call quality is any better on Hero?

When using the built in speaker phone on my Samsung Moment, the person on the other end of the call complains that I am quite, muffled, and/or breaking up; I can hear them fine, and it doesn't matter how close or far the mic is from my mouth.
