How to Increase Droid X Call Quality. does this really work?
View 1 Replies View Relatedcall quality been on the X? I have spent a lot of time in the forums here learning about the phone's capabilities and havent once thought about the phone being used as a. However, that is a good thing, because I have had great clear calls which was in contrast to my previous phone, so since the phone has been working as it should, I havent thought about it. But my calls (listening to the person on the other end, and how they say I sound) have been pretty near perfect.
View 8 Replies View RelatedStill debating on which phone to buy. With the droid x the major concern is soft volume (some phones seem softer than others); rumors of over heating and wifi issues.
Is there a known hack to fix the volume issue; or has Motorola ack the issue and have publically indicated a fix is in the works? Next weekend is no-tax weekend (in Ma) so I might try to pick a phone up then...
I'm pretty sure the wifi issue is a firmware problem (shame on moto for using an encrypted boot loader and having bugs like this one); not sure if overheating is limited to a few phones or is a design issue.
Anyways please add comments (negative and positive) relative to alternatives (samsung s and evo are major contenders). With the samsung the major negative is it pauses now and then and also have soft volume (there is a fix for the gps issue); for evo the major negative is +$10 and poor battery life (this phone is nice and loud) also the display is a bit dimmer than the droid x (an issue for outdoor usage).
It seems so basic but I can't seem to increase call volume without turning up ringtone volume as well. am I missing something here?
View 7 Replies View RelatedHas anyone noticed improvement to the call quality and echo issues that many of us have had with the Droid. I have force/updated today and as yet the problems have not recurred.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am hard to impress and this device really impresses me. No bugs or issues yet that I haven't been able to fix. Camera works great. Screen is beautiful. Everything is solid. Call quality is great. Signal is rock solid (better, in fact, than my old LG, which was itself good). GPS is crazy accurate (can tell which couch I'm sitting on within the same room).
Motorola, Google, and Verizon is a team that's hard to match if the owner is ready to invest the time in setting up the device properly.
So I know that there was a bug where you could answer a call through the lock screen but I am having an issue where whenever the screen goes dark with the proximity sensor, it locks the phone and I can't even change volume without sliding to unlock. I have to press a physical button for the screen to come back on and then slide to unlock to do anything!!! Anyone else have this issue? It just started today out of nowhere! I have not installed any apps recently.

Has anyone checked the vocode setting following the update? I'm sure it would have addressed call quality, but I was wondering if signal reception has improved (if an issue for you previously) based on that change, or any others.
I have really enjoyed everything about the Droid in the 5 days I've had it, except call quality. I switched from an iPhone 3G and the droid can do everything my iPhone could and more, and then I placed a phone call.
My phone was updated to 2.0.1 right at the Verizon store. I left, made a call, and am now regretting leaving my iPhone. I get horrible choppiness, static, and muffled voice on my end. On the other end everyone I call can hear me great. I have tried the *228 options 1 and 2, changing to evrc-b(or whatever it was called) and 13k, privacy off, basically every setting i could find.
Went to the Verizon store, the saleswoman said it was normal and that all phones do that. I laughed, said I was gonna quit this "awesome network" and go back to "crap" AT&T, then they exchanged the phone no problem. Of course this fixed nothing and here I am making phone calls and repeating, "what did you say?" until I can make out some words.
Don't get me wrong, I like Verizon and I've had them before and I never had any issues with call quality, which brings me to believe it's strictly the phone. I may have gotten the occasional dropped call on the iPhone(once a week at most) but at least my calls were all clear.
I use Google Voice (love it) primarily because of it's visual voicemail on my Droid. I do have a Google Voice number, and I'm trying to decide whether to set the Droid app to "make calls using Google Voice" or not.
I have no problem with giving out a different number, and my placed calls seeing the GV number in caller ID.
My question is, does this affect how the call is actually connected, from a quality standpoint? I tired a call both ways, and the sound quality seemed a little bit different. But then, I am an obsessive compulsive weirdo.
Is there any difference in call quality or routing between making a native Verizon call and a Google Voice call on Droid? (Like, does Google voice actual use 3G to connect to Google server over the internetz, then place the phone call?)
I've been looking for a way to increase wifi power on Mediatek phones (that are well known for having poor wifi reception).
I found two files:
- iwmulticall
- iwconfig
Those two are unable to modify tx-power on wlan0. (iwconfig wlan0 txpower 32)
Code:
wlan0 Disconnected ESSID:""
Mode:Managed Access Point: Not-Associated Tx-Power=off
RTS thr=0 B Fragment thr:off
Encryption key:off
Power Management period:2
Link Quality:0 Signal level:0 Noise level:0
Rx invalid nwid:0 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx invalid frag:0
Tx excessive retries:0 Invalid misc:0 Missed beacon:0
Also I found this :
Code:
coex_wifi_rssi_upper_limit=0xD2
coex_wifi_rssi_mid_limit=0xC8
coex_wifi_rssi_lower_limit=0xBF
coex_wifi_pwr_high=0xA
coex_wifi_pwr_mid=0xA
coex_wifi_pwr_low=0xA
how to change that txpower value ? Is there anything to do in init.rc ?
So since the recent update, I noticed that the call audio quality is MUCH better than it was before. Everything sounds more clear and detailed than it used to, and even my girlfriend said that she can hear me more clearly than before. I believe improved audio was on the list of things addressed by the update.

View 2 Replies View RelatedFirst of all, I love my incredible, but I'm afraid my in-call volume is very low. I've turned the rocker all the way up, and it's still very low. Speaker works great on the other hand. Anyone else having these issues, or maybe mine's just low?
View 23 Replies View RelatedJust bought the x10i and loving it, got a few problems but which phone on the market is 100% perfect. I do however have an issue with the low in-call volume and ringer volume. Its very low and struggling to hear the other party, I see from other threads this isn't an isolated issue. Will SE be sending out an update to solve this problem? It seems like a batch issue as not everyone is experiencing this fault.
View 2 Replies View RelatedFor some reason, in my LwW Wt19 (Gingerbeard 2.3.4), the default Dialer (phonebook?) only keeps 30 days of recent calls, but others aplications (for example Go Contacts Ex, ExDialer) let me watch all calls I have ever done. So it makes me think that the problem is the default dialer.
How to increase call log archive to longer than 30 days?
Is there any app or anything to increase the call and speaker volume?They are well too quite. When I am outdoors I cannot hear my phone ring and cannot hear anyone on the phone.If there is no way around it, has there been any information released about this in v2.1?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm not too familiar with the Android OS, and the Droid may be my first Android device. From what I've gathered so far, battery life seems to be an issue with Android devices. I've had 3 different BlackBerrys for a couple of years now and for the most part, battery life has been good or acceptable. My question is, will the Droid suffer from battery life issues as do other Android devices, or will Motorola have a magic formula that increases it? I've read that BGR says battery life is supposed to be "very, very good." But I'm not sure I believe them. They have a way of exaggerating how good a device is, especially if no other reviewer has that device, to make it seem like they have something very special (probably to get more readers).
