Motorola Droid X :: Notification Sounds - Easy Turn Off?

A text message or e-mail arrives, the notification alarm starts and I have to pull the phone out of the holder, press home to wake up the phone, press menu, then notifications to stop it. That seems like a lot of steps. Is there a setting I am missing to press the volume button or power button the stop the tone? Maybe an application? I know it times out at some point but by then I am sure anyone around me is annoyed at hearing "Check it out" being played over and over.

is there a way to turn off all of the notification sounds for email, calendar, and texts? There does not seem to be a global setting for things, and there's not individual settings for this, for example, with the calender, you can't turn off the sounds without turning off the on-screen pop-up reminder. Any apps for this I wonder.

I'm running Android 4.1.2 on my Pantech Discover phone. how I can turn off notification sounds for text messages and email. The way the phone's working right now, I receive a sound notification of new text messages even when the phone is in Silent mode or Vibrate mode.

Is there any way to turn down the camera sounds? The double beep when it focuses is annoyingly loud... so loud you couldn't use it to take pictures of your kid if they're sleeping, for example. I could also do without the fake shutter sound, but I can live with that.

I just switched to the inc so i of course no longer have the default notification sounds that came with the moto droid. i always used the kubar sound, and i really miss it. is there any way for anyone to record this or copy this somehow and send it to me so i can use it for my notification sound again?

I think it'd be pretty cool to see what notification sounds everyone is using. I find it hard to discover new sounds when the time comes for it.

Anyone know of a good place/website where you can download notification sounds, I get alot of texts and moonbeam gets real annoying after awhile and I really hate all the notification sounds.

When I get a gtalk or text I hear the notification sound and it vibrates just fine. When I open gtalk and answer the text, then I put the phone down for a second and I don't hear any more notifications. This drives me nuts because then I pick it up and I see the person replied a long time ago.
On my old blackberry curve. Every time I get a message it would make a sound. With the droid, if you are in gtalk. It wont make a sound so other then checking the phone or looking at the notification light. I don't know a message came in.

Im trying to find out if you can have multiple notification sounds on the droid. One notification sound for a text message, another for gmail, another for SSM, ect. I got missed call but it doesnt have gmail notifications to change.

Just set my wife up with the new yahoo mail app that came out last week. Very nice that it pushes now. I can't, however, get it to make any notification sounds. She has Zedge for downloading ringtones and notification sounds and her general notification sound is set as a sound from Zedge at this time. Will yahoo only use stock sounds so it doesn't play anything? I do have the box checked to use notification sounds and vibrate in the setting.

I have some custom notifications set up for email and text messaging. Perhaps 50% of the time, the X cuts off the notification sound by a few seconds. So, I would like to assign separate ringtones for my gmail and sms alerts. Apparently, the Android system groups these together; I can assign a different tone for regular email, but not gmail, as the Android system groups them under "notifications." Is there an app out there for this?

This is really minor, but it's annoying to me to have an icon in my notification bar up top that USB debugging is connected. I realize I have to have the USB debugging option checked in settings, but it's annoying that this notification icon appears whenever I plug the phone into the computer.How do I disable this icon?

I know I am going to be embarrassed by this, but how do I just turn it off.I downloaded a ringtone from Mabilo sounds it was fee, but now I cant figure out how to turn it off.When I go into settings and notification ringtones, its not there.Even if it were and I could uncheck it, there is no option for no notification at all. Wat am I missing?

I keep getting a tone about every 30 minutes, I think its a notification that I have email. I don't mind the first time getting a message alert, but every 30 minutes gets kinda annoying. Anyone know how to turn it off? I do have handcent but that notification is turned off.

I use my verizon email on my droid, and would like to know how to turn off the notification sound. It will tell me that I have new email; if I don't read or delete all the new ones, it will keep reminding me every minute or so. Is there a way to turn of this notification sound? I saved my ringtones to my SD card and mounted it to my Eris the first week I bought my phone. They worked great under notifications and ringtones. As of last week my notification sounds wouldn't change when I chose a different sound and then it'd stay on the very first ringtone I chose. Now, the ringtones I've set for notifications won't work at all. I can hear them when I test them out, but after I set it as my current sound I won't hear it when I get a text message or anything. I know others are having this problem. Does it have to do with the update you think? Maybe Android 2.0 will fix it.....

I have two accounts on my phone, G-mail & Comacast, I swear I was able to have two different notification sounds for them, but I can't figure out how to do it. If I click on mail and open it up I go to menu Button>more>settings>notifications but all I can do is either turn the notification on or off. I can't set an individual sound for each email acct.
