Sprint HTC Hero :: How To Turn Vibration Off For The Dial Pad
Mar 19, 2010I have not rooted my phone, so I have stock. I don't want to root my phone either until I hear how the 2.1 update performs.
So my question is, does anyone know how to turn the vibration off for the dial pad? I got it turned off for texting and I have the noise off for the dial pad just can't seem to get the vibration off. The reason I ask is because my dial pad is realllllllyy laggy. Like it takes 2-3+ seconds for a number that you press to show up and I feel like the vibration is the reason for the lag.

Dial a phone number
Bypass the keypad screen
Send additional DTMF after the number is dialed
Bypass the send DTMF tone prompt
I have managed to do 1 till 3 by dialing +555-1212w1234 but I am wondering if anyone knows how to bypass the send DTMF tone prompt.

Mar 4, 2010I have turned off vibration in the settings but it still vibrated when phone/dial a number. Is there any way to turn this off as well? I liked it at first, but turning it off really speeds up the response time. For some reason it is still vibrating when I go to phone and start typing a number. The lag id horrible compared to typing with the vibrate off

Jan 25, 2010I normally set up call forwarding from my home phone number to my cell phone by speed-dialing a special sting of numbers from my cell phone. Once the computer on the other side answers, the cell phone sends all the correct codes, including the number where I wish my forwarded calls to go.With my newly bought HTC Hero (Sprint), this doesn't seem to work, because the automatically dialed tones are much too fast and too short. I've tried putting a "P" (for pause) between each digit, but it doesn't help.Other cell phones provide way to select between short and long tones, but apparently the Hero does not.Is there a way to slow down the dialing string so that it can be read by the phone company's computer? Obviously, I could manually key in each digit, but that's really not a good solution.

May 13, 2010I get phone numbers sent via text messages. I need to dial *67 to keep my number private when calling clients. On my BB I would copy and paste from the text and then add the *67 prefix. On the Hero, I can't edit the number once on the dial page. I have tried to copy/paste with the *67 sent in the text, but the Hero doesn't recognize the * as part of the number and only copies the 67 part of the prefix. What apps or workarounds do I have? We don't want to block our caller id completely, only as needed. I just have to figure this important function out.

Jul 2, 2010My Evo takes about 30 seconds to dial a number. i select a contact in my contact list, the contact highlights but does not dial for about 30 seconds. While I was typing this my phone was turned sideways for the big keyboard, I would select a letter, the letter bubble appears but the letter does not show on screen. In vertical mode the keyboard is fine.

Sep 9, 2010Is there ANY way to assign a # on the dial pad to speed dial a contact? I want to do a long press on a number say#3 and it will auto dial the contact assigned to it. I cant figure it out. May 15, 2010Since the day I received this phone (LG Eve - GW620R): I have had this recurring problem. After I dial a number and hit the call button; the screen says "call ended", and the call gets minimized to the notification bar. I cannot overstate how annoying this bug is. Also, I get random notification dings (the screen says "preparing SD card") when the phone is just sitting idle. Finally, when I get e-mails it will tell me that my memory is full when it's not.
Anybody else experiencing these issues? Is there a solution?
