May 4, 2010Is there a way to just use my messages icon and link handcent to it so I don't have to open up the handcent icon everytime?

HTC Incredible :: Deleted Text In Handcent Has Messages App?
Oct 3, 2010Using Handcent for texts, but went into the Messages app and saw a bunch of "ghost" messages with a date of 12/31/69 (tap on the messages and they don't load). It turns out that when I receive a text it displays the correct date and time in both Handcent and Messages, but when I delete in in Handcent it goes into this "ghost" state in Messages. Has anybody else run into this?

Jul 2, 2010I downloaded Handcent and like it. I disabled the stock message app. Now when I get a new text message the same message is sent to me two times. I essentially get a duplicate of the same message. What should I do to stop this?

HTC Incredible :: Add Contact And Then Linking Them?
May 1, 2010I am some facebook contacts that don't have phone numbers on their fb accounts so I go to People and then click Add Contact, I enter their name and number and then I hit save. I then have to search for the contact and then edit and link them. Is there a more efficient way to do this? For instance, is there a way to link a contact from the "Add contact" form instead of hitting save and then searching for the contact you just saved?

Jul 26, 2010I had to go and delete my friend stream and delete my account because I kept getting force close errors when trying to update my friendstream. Now all my contacts are not linked to their facebook accounts anymore. When I try to re-link them they say No matches found. I know their names are correct. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Jun 10, 2010Anyone having problems sending MMS messages via handcent? This worked fine on my HERO, but doesn't work on my Evo. I can send MMS messages via the stock messaging app, but handcent just spins and never sends the message. Normal SMS messages work fine.

Jul 9, 2010i use handsent for my messages just now but when i get a message read it then when i unlock the phone again i still get a message received message and the only way to delete this is going into the standard message icon and read it again.Only small problem but its annoying.

Aug 26, 2010My car has BT for 'phone' and 'audio'.I never play audio that way though. The problem is that when I get in the car and it BT connects, the phone auto brings up the music app and starts to play. I don't have the car head unit set for that input method, so the tunes go nowhere, but suck battery life.There is no way to tell the head unit to not use BT audio when connected. Is there a way to have the phone not bring up the music app when BT connected?

Apr 29, 2010Is there any way to automatically sync all your facebook contacts with Gmail contacts? My Incredible syncs some of the contacts but not all of them. I know there is the option to "link" information on your contacts but I have a huge number that have not linked and it would be a paint to manually go through all of them and do this on a contact by contact basis.

Mar 31, 2010I have been using Handcent for awhile. Recently been having problems with duplicate messages in Handcent. I think it started when I switched to Koush's Rom, but I can't swear to it. I use Google Voice for all my calls and text, but I send and receive my text via Handcent using my GNumber. The default client has the duplicates tos, so I don't think it is Handcent's fault but either the phone is somehow duplicating the message or the problem is with GVoice when it forwards the text to me. I can send texts just fine and no one has complained to me about recieving double texts, so I believe it is only my incoming messages. It also isn't 100% of the time, but I would say around 80%.

Feb 22, 2010Handcent won't vibrate for any incoming messages. Here is what I've done:
-Phone vibrate is checked in 'Sound & display settings' for Android.
-Vibrate is checked to always in Handcent.
-Tried multiple vibrate patterns in both normal mode and vibrate mode.
-Tried multiple vibrate patterns for vibrate 'Only when device is set to vibrate mode' (option in handcent) while having the device in vibrate mode.
-Tried uninstalling and reinstalling Handcent.
Phone vibrates normally for all other applications.
HTC EVO 4G :: Handcent / Stock Double Text Messages
Nov 29, 2010I apologize for the topic, I understand this is a common question because I did search around before posting this.I know that I need to go into the stock messaging program and disable notifications for that program. However I have been messing around with trying to delete/block programs that I don't need or want to see and I don't think I could have uninstalled the stock program because I'm still getting double notifications (one from stock and one from handcent), so I was going to go to the stock one and disable notifications.But I can't find it anywhere on my system whatsoever. Even when I get the notification pop-up it doesn't give me an option to open the whole program, just the notification and option to reply. So is there somewhere it could be hiding that I'm not looking? Or can I reinstall it, if so how?

What's happening, though, is that TWO messages are being SENT when I send a message from Handcent. The GF says she's getting every message twice.

May 3, 2010Converted blackberry of 5 years here. Just signed up but I've been reading everything about the DInc since I got it on 4/29. I've see a lot of FB syncing posts, but I'm not sure if anyone found a solid resolution for it. What I'm trying to do is this, and maybe this question and answer can be a good area to finalize the solution instead of looking through all of the 100 threads that have been hijacked and derailed 100 times over.
Bottom line,
I have 400 FB contacts who I don't care about
I have 100 Phone contacts who I do care about.
I want to link my FB info only to the phone contacts that I have (meaning leave the 300 people on FB out of my contact list, and update the people on my phone list only). Now I've found a partial solution so far - but my end result is not good.
1. Sync facebook under accounts and wait for all contacts to appear in your contact list.
2. proceed to scream and yell and ask your ceiling why the hell all these people are on this list.
3. in people - menu - choose only phone, and make sure facebook is unchecked. That seems to solve 50% of the problem.
But when you go to dial, every single person from hell to heaven shows up in that phone list, and there is no way to filter just "phone" contacts, vs. "facebook" contacts like you can do in your people app. Is there anyway, somehow, at this point in time, that you can get rid of those FB friends from your phone list? Or do we have to deal with this for now? And also, I'm ready to just remove facebook, and use the mobile site, because I can't stand typing in john, and having 2 in my phone book, but 20 come up because of my FB friends who I don't give a rat's a$$ about. What have we found yet, and sorry if I'm being redundant, that being said, that's no excuse for being redundant but I did use the search feature and I found nothing but derailed posts, and complaints, but what we need is a solution for this.
